The Story

Long and lithe table extends solid oak surface almost ten feet over minimalist, sculptural metal base. Discrete recessed base floats tabletop on six slim, organically tapered legs. Clean wood surface flaunts its hardwood appeal thanks to a four-step finish that gives it the look of salted oak.

Alcometti 72 Dining Table is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great table! This table is very high quality and has a finish on the beautiful wood top that stands up to use. The style is simple but the metal legs have a nice twisted detail. The delivery experience was good. I purchased the smaller size and it seats up to six people comfortably. We paired it with wide lower back chairs purchased from Crate and Barrel a few months earlier and they go perfectly with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this table! We bought this table several months ago and it was a great purchase. The table is well made and very sturdy. It is beautiful and very clean looking. It is also very large, so make sure if you order the large one that you have confirmed the room size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellet Table at a Great Price!! Was looking for a new kitchen table for a while, but trying to avoid the whole too rustic looking scene. This able is great looking with the iron legs. I'm not sure they're all the way black, but pretty close, maybe a hint of dark brown/espresso in there. The top has a little more grey in it than what the pictures show. Top is also very smooth, you can feel some changes in the wood, but it's very flat and doesn't have the rustic holes and beat up look. Table is very heavy as well without having a big footprint. Looking to match the Village Grigio grey chairs and maybe some Basque Java bench and barstools. At the price, it's definitely worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong in a sleek design I love this table as it is made with a one piece of strong and solid wood mounted in four sleek iron cast legs. It looks elegant and chic; old fashioned and modern at the same time. It is a piece of furniture that captures people's attention as the wood has a white-ish tonality which makes it different from the normal. It takes a little time to adapt to the tone, but once you make it part of the household, you start to appreciate the tone and the functionality of such varnish, which makes the table waterproof. A fantastic characteristic to have when having kids and teens around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for I bought this a week ago but I want to write this before i forget. I had been looking for a long time fo a dining room table but nothing quite was what I wanted. I was about to get a glass top table when the price on this one was reduced. I had been looking for a wood top metal base for some time and decided to go with this. It took a few days to get used to as I was used to having open space in my living/dining room. Also the legs are thin and tapered. At this point I love it.A couple things to know about the table: (1) The finish is not a clear laqer. There is a cloudy white hue to it. At first I wasn't crazy about it but now I wouldn't trade it. (2) The wood is about .75 " thick (3) Water beads on the finish quite nicely so I think and hope the surface will stay beautiful for some time.I paired this with the Jensen marble top credenza or buffet (whatever its called). The oak finish on that is a little different (not as cloudy white) but they go well together. Anyway I highly recommend both, especially at the sale prices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly high I'm tall with long legs and like that this table has a lot of leg clearance. But ... it's actually kind of high and creates a sort of Edith Ann or Ruprecht the Monkey Boy (from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) feeling when you're dining. I'm probably going to have a metal smith cut the legs down for me by about an inch. The 72 inch table, which is the one I bought, looks a little like a desk for an office because of the dimensions and the wood surface. Overall, though: this table is pretty and simple and has lots of leg clearance, and I like that the surface is so plain; i'm not overly worried about dinging it up and feel that a little heavy use will add some character and that's a good thing, in my opinion.Delivery was FABULOUS, by the way. And I bought all Crate and Barrel dishes (Marin plates in blue and white) and they came quickly too. A good experience and one that left me very happy with my purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant, well made I love this table, low profile is great for my smaller dining area. Love that table top is made of a solid single piece of oak, it should last a long time. Cleans easily with soap/water and does not stain when spills are wiped up promptly.
