Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid grinder for the price. Very few grinders are meant to do all grinds from coarse to fine. Generally, if you make espresso then you have a specific grinder for that and a grinder for pour-over/press. I've found this grinder to handle espresso to French press adequately, and for the price point it can't be beat. If you want a noticeable increase in quality & consistency, then expect to pay 3x as much. My only gripe is that this grinder is pretty noisy, but if you're upgrading from a blade grinder then you won't notice much of a difference.A note in response to the 1-star review: if you use a particularly oily bean (such as Robusta or a dark French roast), then you're gonna have a bad time. The oils prevent the burrs from grabbing onto the beans properly and the oil/grounds mixture cakes onto the burrs, further hamstringing the grinder. The solution? Drink lighter roasted (I'm partial to City+, myself) Arabica coffee. It tastes better anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A piece of junk This product is useless. It clogs at the drop of a hat. Its controls for fine vs. coarse are unreliable and work less than half the time.
