When you’re limited on outdoor space, container gardening is a great solution. There are three elements to consider when container gardening: thrill, fill and spill. Follow our guide of container gardening ideas.
1. Make a Statement with Thrill Botanicals
The thrill is the peacock of your garden design. This element provides the height and the drama. Consider using false dracaena or caladium.
2. Use Medium Height Plants
The fill are medium height plants that bridge the gap between your thrill and spill. Petunias, marigolds, impatiens and begonias make great fillers.
3. Add Spill Plants
Any plants that trail over the side of your planter are considered your spill. Vinca vine, sweet potato vine or lamium create a nice cascade.
