Currently registering for your wedding? We sat down with resident Crate and Barrel Wedding Registry Expert Sarah Bratholt to talk about our recent Private Registry Event three-city series with special guest Loverly. And to get a few wedding registry ideas. Here are her tips and tricks for creating a registry you will love for a lifetime!

What did you love about working with Loverly?

We love partnering with other inspirational experts, and Loverly’s website and new planning book are great tools for the modern couple to plan their wedding.

How many couples attended the three events with Loverly?

We had over 130 couples attend our Chicago, Dallas and New York events. So fun to see all the different couples and the things they gravitated towards for their registries. Plus, Kellee Khalil, founder of Loverly, was there to meet couples and give them a signed copy of her new book!

What were three of your favorite things from the events?

Tough to pick just three! I would have to say, a free signed copy of Loverly’s new wedding planning book. Inspiration everywhere you looked, including amazing tablescapes with floral garland and bakery treats from local vendors. And the cherry on top, live music!

What is the benefit of coming to a Private Registry Event?

I think one of the best things about attending an event is that the store is closed and the event is just for engaged couples to register. As a result, they get loads of advice and 1:1 expert tips and demonstrations from the folks that know the product the best. You’ll also leave with a goody bag full of inspiration with our registry guidebook, a pair of our stemless wine glasses and exclusive offers from Paperless Post and Blk Tux.

And if that weren’t enough, at every single private registry event we have drawings for some of our favorite kitchen products. These change for each event, so be sure to check the website for the latest information.

What is your favorite part about seeing the couples in store?

A lot of couples find registering to be overwhelming, which I can appreciate, because while they are having fun, they are also taking it seriously. So my favorite part is seeing couple’s relax and enjoy themselves while they get all of their questions answered. They get to touch, feel and play with the product. Knowing that they put so much time and thought into selecting these items for their friends and family to give to them just adds to this life milestone and special time in their lives.

What’s a great piece of registry advice?

I have to say two things. First, it’s okay not to get it all done in one visit. Often times couples will come to an event, scan and then go home and add things via the app or online. And they will do this step and repeat a few times after engagement parties and showers. Second, make sure you take turns scanning. That way, each of you can get your cannot-live-without items on the list!
