worst CB furniture purchase EVER
I bought two of these folio chairs four years ago as an addition to then existing chairs on my dining set. Typical of CB furniture, they looked and felt fantastic. These chairs were only used when I had dinner guests that required extra seating. With that said, I only entertain like that a few times a year. They should look nearly as good today as they did when they came off the truck 4 years ago, unfortunately that is not the case with these chairs. The leather across the back is caved in and cracked, with the surface flaking off in that spot. This is because there was no horizontal support bar in these chairs - so if someone leans back, the leather folds and cracks. I understand the new models have a bar to prevent this from happening- I wish this would have been remedied before I spent $500 on these chairs.
The real issue is the quality of the leather of the chair. On both chairs, the seat and the back look as if the finish/color of the leather is "melted" off. Big spots of brown just disappeared, revealing the raw, orange-ish color underneath, almost as if they were scratched or gouged- which they were not. When you look closely, the finish is crackled around these areas, almost like it was burned in areas that had contact with people's legs and back. I only ever cleaned these chairs with a damp cloth, so it's not like it had a reaction to some kind of cleaning product.
Sadly, I really like these chairs and am a huge CB fan, but cannot afford to waste my money again. I'm disappointed that there was not a higher level of quality control during the manufacturing of this product. I would be very leery to purchase any leather products from CB ever again :(
Do not buy these chairs.

Quality
I purchased 4 of these chairs about 5 years
years ago with a table and cabinet. I
love the style and feel but the leather
is cracking on the top of the backs
and is the color is peeling off all of the
seats. They look terrible and there is
no way to fix them. You would think
since they cost $249.00 each they
would be better quality. :-(

Poor Leather
Sorry to say as much as we love C&B and have a lot of their stuff, we bought three of these a few years ago and the leather has started to crack and kind of shrink on the outside..
Most odd as we have other leather products that get better with age not disintegrate. They now look awful and C&B is not interested in doing anything about it..
They looked good to start with but a few months ago one of the chairs showed this defect and now another one has just started...
Don't waste your money as we have, we now face a $700 additional bill to buy a matching big sur bench and throwing the chairs in a skip !

Folio leather side chairs
I bought six of these chairs about four years ago. Despite their heavy weight, I thought they were a good, sturdy, reasonably stylish addition to my dining room. However, I have noticed that the leather has cracked and the color has peeled on each of these chairs at the top of the back. This happened despite the fact that I cleaned them regularly with a leather care product designed for this type of furniture. I'm a CB fan, but these chairs were a real disappointment!

Folio chairs
I just received my new chocolate folio chairs next week. They are very unique and seem to be constructed very well. I hope they hold up well for the price paid but as far as style they were worth it! I love the slim design as I have a small space.

Beautiful, durable and kid-friendly
Purchased a set of these chairs 2 years ago when we redid our kitchen and great room. They have held up very very well as our every day chairs - and that is with the abuse of 4 young kids including a toddler. So I got 2 more this year to add to our dining set. Beautiful and very durable. Extremely happy with this purchase.

check the feet!
Just received my set of 6 chairs and I love everything about them except the feet. Make sure you check that all of the feet of your chairs are intact before you let the delivery men leave. One of mine had snapped off and I didn't realize it until after they'd gone. Crate and Barrel sent me a repair kit but removing the snapped off foot was not an easy task. Save yourself the hassle and do a good inspection while they're still at your house.

bad feet
We bought eight of these chairs and love them with one exception. The rubber feet on the bottom are coming apart and they are starting to scratch the floor. Because the steel frame is an unusual size, we can't find new feet to fix them.

those chairs are just exquisite!
Those are the best chairs I have ever had. They look gorgeous around the table, they are soft yet easy to clean, they leave no marks on the ground, and they are extremely confortable. I strongly recommend them to anyone, they are really worth it.

Stylish, beautiful chair
We just bought these chairs with the Kyoto table. So far they have held up nicely although we do not use these as our every day chairs. The color and quality are very nice. There was a grease stain on one of them the other day and I was very concerned. I took a damp cloth and it came right up. They are very comfortable. I would recommend these chairs.

awesome chairs!
I purchased 6 folio leather chairs from Crate and Barrel and I just love them! I don't even think it would matter what color your dining table is as these chairs would look good with just about anything. They are generous in size without being bulky and are more comfortable than I even imagined. They have a sleek and sophisticated look that is just what I was looking for.

Best looking/very practical
My husband and I purchased these chairs almost 3 years ago. We love them! They are great to use with children, because they are so easy to wipe off. Also, they are modern, with clean lines and go with almost any syle table. Whether you decorate, modern, traditional, country or what ever they will go with you table. We use them with our kitchen table and with two daughters they get a lot of use. They still look brand new!! Great investment and Very functional. They are also, very comfortable. We are going to order 3 bar stools in the next few months that match these great, functional and clean lined chairs. We would reccommend them to anyone.

Folio Leather side chair
Recently we bought 4 of these fabulous chairs. They are just a simple and elegant design. They are extremely comfortable. I Ihave seen similar styles at other furniture stores, but none would meet the quality of these particular chairs. Beyond that, the fine reputation of Crate & Barrel was kept in mind as I knew if there were any problems with the chairs, that the store would stand behind them 100%. Our entire shopping experience there was 5 star also. Great designs and knowledgeable staff.

I love these chairs
We bought 6 of these chairs to go with the Big Sur table - which we ended up exchanging for the Calabria table - and they were neutral enough to go with both tables. These chairs are neutral, yet stylish and extremely comfortable. They clean up easily, do not scratch hard wood floors and we just love them. We have two cats and they are easy to keep clean and hide scratches.
