Useful Slate cooktop cover
I purchased 2 large slate boards to place over my cooktop grills when I am not cooking to give me more counter space. They are the perfect measurement that I was searching for and the look is perfect. I considered cutting boards, custom made tops and happily decided that I found this idea as an option. Easy to move and place elsewhere. Still trying to decide if I can place something that is hot out of the oven on top??

Great!
I use mine for cheese trays and for chargers! I have the mid size and the smallest size. I love them! They have the no scratch thing on the bottom and are not too heavy! I also write on mine with chalk, which is fun!

Sophisticated
This is a very sophisticated way to display cheese. It holds about three to four different cheese (depending on sizes). Great for parties!

Beautiful Cheese Plate
I actually purchased the small slate cheese tray to be used as a tray to hold monogrammed paper towels for the powder room but it didn't really go with the granite countertop. It was so attractive that I decided to keep it and use it as a cheese plate, which it was designed for. I just love it and my guests think it is so beautiful. It is beautiful, sturdy and priced very affordably. Great job, Crate & Barrel!

Best Purchase ever!
I bought the large size to use as place mats on a wooden table. They look great, super easy to clean, and plenty of room for drinks too. Love them!

Love These Slates
Weighted but not too heavy. The boards also have no-slip scratch protecting bottom. Will probably purchase the smaller boards as well.

Great for cheese!
This slate is a very attractive way to serve up some yummy cheese, it fits a variety of cheese with space for fruits. The only thing I would change is to make the felt on the bottom removable for washing - but there are ways around this and I still recommend it.

So versatile!
We love these boards. We use the big one on top of our formica countertops on a regular basis, when we're not using it as a cheeseboard or placemat. We're thinking of getting several more to put side by side as a mini makeover for boring countertops. These wash easily and look great--sleek, dark and cool in a hot summer kitchen.

Perfect cheese plate!
I use my slate board every chance I get and I always get tons of compliments. I also write the names of these cheese on the board. It will scratch if you use a real knife, so be careful cutting!

I get so many compliments on the displays we can create with these slate boards. They make basic cheese platters much more enjoyable.

cool accessory for any type of cheese
We entertain a lot and I like to have appetizers on a center ottoman we have, these are neat looking pieces and they have felt on the bottom so not to scratch or slide on the leather pieces.

a great buy
we have the large square board & love it. It is classy to serve cheeses or can be incorporated into centerpieces as a handsome base. Love it!

Perfect for cheese!
I love these slate boards - they work perfect as cheese platters! It's so easy to lay out a few blocks of cheese when friends come over at the last minute! You can't put them in the dishwasher, but they are easy to quickly wipe by hand!

Handsome...but heavy
I have the largest slate board. It makes a real statement on the table, I use it primarily for cheese. The felt backing makes it work on scratchable surfaces, I have never submerged the board in water. I just wipe the top over. You need to be careful when handling this item. It is very heavy!
