The Story

For maximum grind control, this premium grinder offers a generous half-pound coffee bean container, automatic bean sensor, 17-position grind selector that delivers the correct fineness for espresso, drip, French press and percolators. Electronic timer lets you grind for two to twelve cups. Burr grinding mechanism delivers the most consistent, uniform grinding. Separate on/off button stops grinding at any time and allows pulse grinding. Both the upper burr grinding wheel and ground coffee container are removable for easy cleaning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't Work I bought this a couple weeks ago and just tried to use it for the first time. Following the directions exactly, I was needless to say dismayed when I hit "power" to grind nothing happened. It won't even turn on! I will be returning this grinder, most unhappily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good grinder for the money. I own two of these grinders and I have had no trouble with them at all. They grind fine for espresso as well as drip makers. A bit loud and you do have to clean it often to keep it working well. I use it every morning and would recommend it as a good alternative to high priced grinders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a dream! This is by far the best coffee grinder I've ever used and an affordable price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this grinder I bought this grinder about 4 months ago and it stopped working just after exchange policy expired. Theoretically, there are supposed to be 9 different grinds, but there is only one -- no matter what number is set.. My guess is that it is about mid-range on the scale of 1-9. Not able to get a fine grind even putting it on the highest number.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loud and Slow I bought this to replace an older Waring Burr grinder. It looks nice but it is very loud and takes twice as long to grind the coffee. I'm going back to my vintage grinder for now. The flavor is better too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not worth the effort Tried to cut back on cost and bought this instead of the Brevelle. Coffee all over the place every time. Now I know the true meaning of "penny wise and pound foolish"

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Marginal This grinder is definitely not for espresso drinkers. It almost doesn't grind fine enough for drip. We got the grinder at a sale price and will probably keep it as a back up while we continue the search for a higher quality grinder that doesn't take up half our counter space.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from dissappointing I received this as a Christmas gift; as a doctoral student, I was excited at the prospect of good, quality coffee in my own home. I have a french press and a stove-top espresso maker, and I like to switch my coffee drinking between the two. If you are grinding only one size, this might work better, but for me, it became impossible to turn the grind size knob after about 2 days. It seemed a bit cheap right out of the box, but I was willing to give it a try. I was also not *terribly* impressed with the fineness of the "espresso" setting, which seemed about as fine as what you'd want for drip coffee. And the coursest setting still produced quite a bit of unwanted dust. Unfortunately, I will be returning this and upgrading to a different model.
