Rated 2 out of 5 by from Egg Cups Too Small The egg cups in this product are too small for standard (large or XL) eggs sold at the store. Even medium eggs (if you can find them) barely fit. Disappointing.Other features--glass lid, non-stick cups (with a bit of butter added), and weight of pan--are good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from think about it Bought this to replace worn out egg poaching pan. It is not as user friendly because the eggs stick, even though it says they won't. I've tried 'seasoning' the inserts with a little oil and that helps, but I still need to use butter to coat them. They still don't slide out as I would like them to so my husband is not getting poached eggs as often as he would like. I do like the see through cover to check for 'doneness'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, Effortless Poached Eggs I finally bought this item after eyeing it for sometime. Although a bit skeptical at first, my husband and I have had success with it. Just fill about an inch of water in the pan, crack an egg in each little pod and in 5 minutes or less...Beautiful, restaurant quality poached eggs. Easy to clean, no fuss. Just remember to coat each cup with a bit of oil for ease of egg removal. Would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly non stick My husband has been making Eggs Benedict for our household by dropping in boiling water the last 30 years and some. Certainly not a nice presentation, let alone the clean up of messy egg residue on the pan. Finally chose the Stainless Egg Poacher to give it a try after reading many reviews on Crate and Barrel for a recent gift to him. Worked perfectly. Yes, you must oil the 4 egg holders prior to placement of eggs in several inches of low boiling water, as well as cover immediately for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minutes to get your desired softness of the yoke.. Perfect eggs and clean up was easy and quick. Absolutely no problems with this poacher for us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Poached Eggs in Town Great product. Handle stays cool. Solid gauge SS. Providing you lightly butter up and add a few drops of water to the easy-release and clean egg cups and use a spoon on part of the edges, the eggs will easily drop out. Little cup nubs are hot to handle and hard to grip with pot holder so need to use small piece of paper towel. Great finished product is worth dealing with these minor inconveniences. I do not put cups in dishwasher because I read stories about people losing screw off nub handles in dishwasher for other poachers so wash them by hand. Clear viewing lid critical to watching eggs for doneness. No helpful instructions accompany the poacher so had to go online for tips and hints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from handle fell off first time I used it The screw head that holds the handle on the lid is larger then the hole in the glass- looks like this is a known fact and a small rubber band was add to the screw to make the head larger- it failed and the handle does not stay on the lid deeming the product useless and money burned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great kitchen gadget Second poacher we've bought from CB. Easy to clean, and works like our first poacher. The egg cups are smaller than the old one, so eggs almost cook out of cup, they work but make a mess on the edge of the cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious poached eggs everytime We received this egg poacher as a wedding gift a few months ago and have used it more than any other gift so far. It makes the perfect poached eggs, just be sure to spray the cups with cooking spray before setting the eggs in. We let the water get to a rolling boil, drop the eggs in the cups and reduce the heat so the water is just simmering. We put the lid on right away and let the eggs poach for 4 1/2 minutes so the yolks are still just slightly gooey when it's time to eat. The eggs easily slide out of the cups, and clean-up is a breeze. We are so pleased with this poacher!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Poacher I bought the egg poacher for my mother for Christmas. She had one for years and lost it in a move. This one is perfect. The eggs slip right out without any problem. It's well made and sturdy. I don't have a single negative thing to say about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift - delicious eggs! I bought this egg poacher for my wife a month ago and it has received regular use ever since. Poached eggs are now a big hit with our kids. The eggs turn out great, it is easy to use and clean. Thanks Crate & Barrel!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Idea & Not a Terrible Product, But... I love poached eggs and this is the third product I've tried (and so far, the best). It's a stunning product and cleans up nicely. Still, the problem is that the instructions in the package ask you not to use the scrubbing side of a sponge for cleaning. That would be fine except the egg cups, even after soaking, are difficult to clean. You will have to scrub them unless you want dried egg still on the sides when you're ready to use them again. Also, it doesn't tell you how hot the egg cup knobs get. Even with a towel they are VERY hot! And whether you put water or even oil in them before you crack the eggs, once they're done you need a knife to get them out... which makes you worry about scratching the egg cup surface. This product does give you 4 really nice poached eggs though and it would be ideal if they just slid out of the cups. No such luck. It does provide you with a nice presentation and the eggs cook quickly. It would be nice if they provided instructions on the ideal water level for the pan and a few poaching tips for this product. If they do provide one, my "Tips" sheet was missing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes perfect poached eggs This absolutely helps make perfect poached eggs. You do have to make sure you grease the egg compartments and the compartments can't contain anything above a large. Also, you have to watch out for the hot steam.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of my new favorites... My Grandmother used to make poached eggs for me when I was a little girl, and I'd always wanted a pan like her's. This pan makes great eggs! It took me awhile to get the water level right (it kept boiling over!) - you don't need much water in the bottom of the pan at all. Beware. And, the egg cups are a little on the small side. If you're trying to wrap a piece of bacon around the egg, it's often too much for these cups and the egg spills out.
