Surprisingly comfortable
I assumed that a sisal rug would be a bit scratchy on your bare feet, or would scratch your socks, but I have been pleasantly surprised so far.
Not only is the rug comfortable, but you can feel your feet being lightly exfoliated when you walk across it (which feels great after a long day).
Additionally, the rug came with a rug pad (no need for a separate purchase), and I haven't had the slightest problem with the rug slipping on my hardwood floors.
The material itself seems sturdy, and I haven't had any pieces break off, or otherwise become damaged.
I highly recommend this purchase!

Great Indoors
This is the third sisal rug I've purchased from CB. I have 2 cats and it holds up well to their scratching and hair clean up is a snap. Yes, it's not a comfy rug for lounging on, but great in a multi-purpose room that we use for playing, exercise, and lots of other traffic.
Clean up for this type of rug is a little different. You need to keep Host dry cleaner on hand. The key is to blot up as much of liquid you can with paper towels then cover the area heavily with Host and let sit for a day or so. Then vac up with the hose to get in deep and it's clean and fresh. If you get a stain, use a gentle brush and a tiny bit of dish soap with water to massage out -- the key is not not get the fiber too wet.
The latex backing is great and you don't need a pad grip. However, do not use this rug on radiant heating floors; the latex will disintegrate after a few years. Our apartment is over the boiler room and our floors are hot all winter and this is what happened. BUT, I love these rugs so much I replaced them with the same. We gave them a beating over three years so it was worth it.

Durable rug
I purchased the almond 8x10 for my master bedroom as I have two large dogs that shed and track in dirt from outside. Its only been a few months but so far its held up really well. A quick vacuum and its good as new.

Doesn't Clean
While this rug is good for high traffic areas (it doesn't show wear) it doesn't clean well either. I am very disappointed to learn that while C&B recommends professional cleaning - the cleaning that is needed is dry powder cleaning (according to their customer service reps). This is a very ineffective way to clean rugs with stains caused by liquids. Maybe it's a way to deodorize, but even then you're not able to get out all the powder. I wouldn't purchase this rug if there is any chance it will need to be cleaned.

Nice rug; watch edge thickness
Nicely made sisal rug; however, I purchased the small size as an entryway mat in front of my front door. The two short sides of this rug are 'folder under' in such a way that they are almost double-thickness. This presents a problem for my opening door and metal weatherstripping, so I've had to place the rug strangely off center to accommodate. Just something to keep in mind if you plan to use in front of a door with minimal clearance.

great rug for beach house
I purchased this rug in an 8x10 for our living room at our home near the shore. It is great on our new hardwoods and does a good job of minimizing the profusion of dog hair resulting from our beloved black lab's constant shedding! I like it because it is very durable and excellent with the inevitable sand that finds its way into our house. Dirt really doesn't show, and a quick vacuuming keeps it clean and fresh. We haven't had any major spills, although aforementioned black lab spit up a rawhide on it first thing, and I was able to dab it and clean it up with a little mild dish soap on a rag, the rug was no worse for wear.
I've never had a sisal rug before, so the thinness of it took a little getting used to, it is quite "spare," there is no plushness at all. In addition, it is not the most comfortable with bare feet. While my children are college aged, I imagine small children would find it a little uncomfortable.
Having said that, I am very happy with my purchase, it fits a "beach" style home very well, and looks good with the furniture I just purchased. And I was thrilled with delivery, within a day or two it was sitting on my front step.

Awesome
Very neat and clean looking. This is the first time I found a Sisal rug without the color borders and I love it. I've had Sisal rugs before and the cloth borders always got dirty looking after a few months. Not so with this rug. I have one in my dining room for over a year, which is a high traffic area and it still looks new. Just got another one for my living room and love it. Makes the room look bigger. Both of mine are Almond 8x10.

Best runner
You'd think a sisal runner would be easy to find, but not so with a nice quality one. After much research, I found the sisal runner that fit in perfectly with my home: the Sisal Almond runner. I started with one, but ended up with 3. The simplicity of style and neutral color helped it blend in seamlessly with my decor. The rug pads add cushion and help dampen the sound of walking on hardwood floors. They are also very easy to vacuum.

Tough & & tidy
Purchased this sisal rug in 8X10 for my home office about 3 months ago. Not too dark not too light, it's well made and easy to clean. It looks great!

Very Pleased!
I had been looking for a natural fiber 8 X 10 rug in this almond color for my living room....after reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive.....Since there is not a C & B locally...I ordered the sample piece....So glad I did! The rug looks beautiful on my hardwood floor....I do see what some of the other reviews were referring to about the lines from being rolled up.....they did fallout completely within two weeks......The rug is perfect for me, However I will say it would not be appropriate if you are planning to spend a lot of time sitting or lying on the floor....it is rather rough.

Very Functional
I purchased the runner to minimize dirt coming in the back door from the garage, and it's working very well. I am using it without the pad, and slippage is minimal on my wood floor. Initially there were ridges from being tightly rolled during shipping, but these came out by leaving it rolled the other direction for about 24 hours and through general use. Would definitely purchase others as needed around the house.

so disappointed
Needed a rug 6'x9' and this is one of the few that come in this size. Read other reviews which were positive, so purchased it online. Unrolled rug and it has ridge marks the entire length from being so tightly rolled for shipping. Customer service recommended giving it some time and/or rolling it the opposite direction. Tried that, and have given it more than 2 weeks, and the ridge marks have not changed one bit. So disappointed. Will exchange it for another, but not hopeful.

Beautiful Rug
After viewing the item online it was necessary to actually touch the rugs. So, off to the Mission Valley store and found the item soft enough to stand on in bare feet. The salesgirl told me they were out of the rugs in almond but she offered the chocolate. Drove home, got on the internet, and ordered the almond color. We needed something for the cold slate bathroom floor so I ordered a runner and a 2x3 for the adjoining stall. Both pieces fit perfectly and bring a peacefulness to the room.

Great purchase
I bought the runner and the miracle hold pad in almond. It is terrific for high traffic areas. It really holds up, but looks beautiful. I was afraid it would look more like it belongs outside, but that is not the case! Perfect size, and the color was true to what is online. The only problem I've had is that occasionally fibers pop up that need to be snipped off, but that is to be expected.

Great rug!
Purchased the light almond runner...couldn't be happier. It is in the walkway we (and our three large dogs) use leaving or entering our home multiple times a day. Still looks great after a year despite coming in from rain, doggie footprints and such. Everything vacuums up nicely.

Simply the BEST Sisal Rug EVER
I have owned several of these sisal rugs from Crate & Barrel and they are worth every single penny. Very stylish! With stands heavy traffic and will not fray or warp like lesser quality sisal rugs. Dont buy any other sisal rug but these!! :)
