Using time-honored techniques, artist Robin Bradford refreshes the ancient art of Japanese katagami stencils with meticulously hand-cut designs that are graphic and modern. Traditional chrysanthemum motif scales up to create bold floral shapes and reveal a web of silk thread that stabilizes the stencil for printing. Offset print of the original stencil is reproduced on acid-free paper and crisply presented in single ivory mat and black frame with a satin finish.
