very pretty
Lke the other reviews i think this peice is very versatile,
i have 2 of them and have used for desert, like chocolate covered strawberrys and thumbprint cookies.
i want to try to use to serve a steak one(small one). i saw similar ones used for serving food at restaurants in San Fransisco.(small steaks and salads) only neg they are a little pricey

versatile platter
I love this and actually have three that I use all the time. I use one as a spoon rest by my cook top, one in our bar and another in our outside kitchen . It looks great on granite/stone counter tops and a bit classier than a spoon rest.

I should have listened...
I saw this in catalog last year and loved the presentation but what I received was just a piece of glass, not at all textured like what was shown in catalog. This is first item ever purchased from CB that I have not loved...

I don't love this platter as much as I expected to. It was a little too heavy for its size. I'm also afraid items will slide off of it too easily

Nice, but not totally as described
I was so excited to get this item as it looked so pretty online...but when I got it...was SO disappointed, not with the quality, but it was not as described!!! I called customer service and they were great!! They sent me another and said if it matched the description, I would not have to send the other back!!! I thought that was great!! Sadly when I recieved the 2nd one it was the same as the first!! SO disappointed...Sent both back and they even sent me the return postage!!! Great company!!! I read other reviews on this and know some got the platter that was described....wish I had been one of them!!! Crate and Barrel are wonderful people to deal with!!! A++++ ALL THE WAY!!!

Versatile!!!
I love this platter because it is so versatile. I use it for every holiday and set up a little candle display with it. I love that it is clear so I can use any color candles and put it anywhere.

Not as it appears in picture
My platter arrived yesterday, was so excited to open it. It is very heavy (nice), but I was really looking forward to using the item that appears in the picture! Not at all. Mine arrived as a piece of heavy smooth glass. Very dissapointing.

Stunning!
I bought four of these platters to use for a sit-down dinner featuring sushi, one at each place setting. Wow, what a dramatic presentation! My guests raved about the food, the wine, AND the table.

simple, elegant
This is a versatile piece- I use mine to display candle holders. Just like the other reviewer stated, it resembles carved ice. I would have liked a little more texture on top (mine is smooth), but I am very happy with this purchase. I am fascinated by objects that are "there, but not there." Brilliant.

really classy
i purchased this product last month and used it to serve a wedge of brie and dried apricots at my wine and cheese party. i received specific compliments on this presentation. i like the thick glass look and my husband even commented on how it looked on the table. i had many platters at this party and this one was unique.

Beautiful, Substantial Glass Platter
I first saw this platter while vacationing in
Chicago. I was so impressed by how beautiful and substantial it was! It is heavy, smooth with the appearance of carved ice. I asked the customer service person at the Crate and Barrel if I could order it on line as I did not want to take it back on the plane. I can't wait to entertain and use this gorgeous platter!
