Great idea, poor execution
Beating a dead horse here... these are really cool glasses with two major faults: they chip very easily and "dishwasher safe" is very generous. My fiancée and I chipped one on our first cheers. Not ideal. I can live with the dirty dish fluid since you just need to take them out and rinse the bottom after a cycle. I need at least 2-5 cheers's though before I expect chippage.

Hi ball glass
These are really pretty glasses and the weight is great.
The open bubble in the base traps water and stains the glass so when you drink from it you see the discoloration and it looks dirty.Unless you want to use a q tip to dry the belly button of this glass I would not recommend them.

great quality
I registered for Direction glassware when I got married in 2005 and they still look great! One thing I would say is I wish I could easily clean every little bubble at the bottom of the glasses! I love using the pilsners just to drink water!

Pilsner Glasses
These glasses are elegant and classy. We own several and bought 4 for our son's anniversary. Put it in the freezer and you have the perfect beer pilsner glass- cold and frosty.

avoid these at all cost
these are great on the shelf but not once you get them home, use and wash them they are never the same. the hole in the bottom gets dirt or water stuck in it and it's impossible to clean so it looks like your drinking out of a dirty glass. You have to tap the bottom of the glass to get the water out. plus they chip easily.

Timeless beauty
I received this entire set of glasses (low-ball, high-ball, pilsners) from my wedding registry 8 years ago, and I still get compliments every time we have company. I absolutely love them. My only mistake was placing a couple in the dishwasher--the bottoms are very heavy, but the delicate edges were chipped in the dishwasher.

Great Purchase
My husband and I received these glasses from our wedding registry, and we love them. Unlike other customers, we haven't had a problem with chips or water collecting in the bubble, probably because we handwash them.
These glasses have a great feel in your hand, and are very sturdy. Great for a home like ours, with a very curious cat, these glasses won't tip over if bumped.

Love these glasses!
We registered for the Directional glasses when we got married and have now enjoyed them for four years. We have three sizes: the double, highball and pilsner. They're nice and heavy around the bottom, but the rims are slim and great for sipping. We love the style and the shape. Excellent quality, however somewhat fragile. We always hand wash these glasses, especially after having to replace one that broke in the dishwasher.

Poor design
I received these glasses off my wedding registry and as everyone else commented, they looked really cool at the time. The way that they chip so easily and catch dirty dishwater in the bottom of the glass is terrible. They are going into the yard sale/donate pile and I am on the hunt for new glasses...

Beautiful Glasses, Hard to Clean
I loved these glasses when we registered for them. The only problem (as everyone else has stated) is when you clean them, and the bubble in the bottom fills with dirty dishwasher water. Either hand wash these, or once you pull them out of the dishwasher, give the bubble a little extra attention. This goes for all glasses in the Direction collection.

Not Dishwasher Approved
I actually love the look of these glasses. The only downfall is that when you run them through the dishwasher, the "bubble" in the bottom fills up with dirty dishwater. I would recommend washing by hand.

Great Glasses, Difficult to Clean
I love these glasses, however, the decorative bubble in the bottom tends to trap dirty water in the dishwasher and is very difficult to keep clean. The glasses are durable, have a nice feel/weight, and are very attractive. They just need some extra cleaning before company comes over.

Beautiful but Tough to Clean
These glasses have a great weight to them and they are beautiful, but the bubble at the base of the glass gets water spots that are tough to clean. It can look dirty if you don't hand wash them.

Bottom Heavy and Holds Dishwasher Water
I absolutely loved the look and weight of these glasses when we were registering for our wedding. They are heavy and sleek -- they looked great and I loved that bubble! Unfortunately, now nearly 3 years later I can tell you that most of these glasses have chipped or broken (especially the tall ones) not due to carelessness, but due to the bottom being so heavy, and the glass around the rim being so thin. Aside from that, the bubble in the bottom of the glass is open, which means that dishwasher water gets stuck in there. So you have to spend extra time draining the non-chipped/broken glasses when they come out of the dishwasher or you'll have lovely watermarks in your cabinets. Needless to say, we rarely use them now. *sigh* The things that we loved originally turned out to be the reason that these glasses are awful and NOT worth your time or money. We need to buy a whole new set of drinking glasses that we can actually use.

Glasses
I really like the way these glasses look but I found that they are really small. If you are making cocktail in them then you end up with very little to drink. I really like the tall glasses.

Good, but....
These are very nice glasses. The base is substantial and heavy and everyone always comments on how cool they are. But I would definitely not recommend them for daily use. Like others have said, the bubble collects dirty water in the dishwasher. I wash them by hand because of that. Not a big deal to me, but it would get annoying if you used them every day. The rim is also very thin. I worry about breaking them, but luckily so far I haven't. Good glasses, but make sure you respect them.

Despise these
I had registered for these in 2008 and just happily donated my entire collection of 12 highballs & 12 double old fashioned glasses. They are heavy, they look so cool, but if you use them as an every day glass, you will learn to HATE THAT BUBBLE. Someone suggested putting them in the dishwasher sideways, and I'm curious if that would work, but that wouldn't make a lot of sense for the layout of my dishwasher. Anyway, like everyone says, the bubble collects water, so you need to take them out of your dishwasher and put them on a towel or something to let it drain afterwards. Then they become stained and cloudy from the sitting water. I only had problems with the mugs breaking (I only had 1 of those left) but I don't think they make those anymore.
I seriously ended up HATING these glasses.
We needed every day glasses, and I recently purchased the Crate & Barrel "rings" set of glasses and we LOVE them. They're light, and SUPER inexpensive, but at least washing them in the dishwasher is a one step process!

Cool design, not funcional
This glass is so cool looking but it cannot be washed in a dishwasher because smelly dirty water gets stuck in the little bubble which is so hard to clean out. If the bubble was closed this glass would get 5 stars.
