Love these glasses!
I ordered a set of 12 last year, 6 tall, 6 short and they have worked out great. I just recently ordered more to accomodate all my guests coming for a dinner party. They have held up very well. They are a little top heavy in the dishwasher but I wouldn't trade that for the style they bring to my table. Love them.

Good purchase
I bought these glasses to match my square dinner plates I recently bought. It was a good match.. they are not really heavy or light. This is my second glass purchase from crate and barrel and I am happy with both purchases.

Awesomely Beautiful Glasses
I bought these glasses in 2008 and they still look beautiful!! they look great on a table and (knock on wood) havent broken a single one. I do handwash mine though so that could be the reason. If you're considering getting them, do it! :)

Disappointed
A review I read was correct, one broke just a week after purchasing. I have no idea how it broke. They are fragile. Glasses I have had for years have never broke. They are also bottom heavy, in the dishwasher they want to tip over. Annoying. But they look nice.

Not for everyday use
I made the mistake of using these bottles as drinking glasses for everyday use. I've owned them for about 5 years (as long as C&B has carried them), and by now I had replaced about 20 of them. They look nice, and feel just right. However, their footprint is small, and they topple over easily. The glass is thin, and so the glass breaks even if it topples over empty, on a soft surface such as wood.
They're great for the occasional Tom Collins, but as everyday drinking glasses, they're impractical. I'll look for a set with a larger foot print, and thicker glass. Replacing these has become quite expensive.

Love these glasses!
These glasses have a great feeling in your hand. The squarish shape is a nice modern twist, and the glasses are super versatile! They are great for everyday contemporary style but also do not look out of place on a classic elegant table set with my grandmother's china. We registered for these when we got married & loved them so much that we've now bought more to replace a few that broke over the years.

Gorgeous and sturdy
I got these as a gift and love drinking my morning OJ from them. They're beautiful, and I feel like I'm being fancy drinking plain old juice out of them, but they're sturdy enough for everyday use. They do great in the dishwasher and - knock on wood - I've yet to break one. Also, the square design fits easily into my dishwasher, leaving more room for other, larger glasses.

Beautiful - but too fragile
We wanted to like these - we really did. The square cross-section allow these to line up beautifully in an open glassware rack, and they look lovely on the table. We have the high-balls, the rocks glasses, and the shot glasses. The shot glasses are perfect. The others would be - except they all chip in the dishwasher. We bought them first a few years ago, and each of those now has chips on all sides. But, we assumed that this was because they were too thin. This year we noticed that the glasses were thicker, and, because we like the look of the glasses so much, we were happy and bought the new Strauss glasses. These actually proved to be weaker than the thinner ones in the dishwasher, if you can believe it -- a few months later, and all of the new ones are chipped in multiple places. We're so sad, as we do so like the design, but there's a rule in this house: if something isn't dishwasher safe, it dies trying to be. These claim to be, and just aren't.

Great Glasses!
We got these glasses for our wedding 7 years ago - 12 highballs and 12 double old fashioned. We mainly wash in the dishwasher (top rack) and occasionally hand wash. We have not had any issues with cracking or breaking until yesterday when one of the DOF's cracked due to carelessness during hand washing. So glad we are still able to buy a replacement!

L O V E the Strauss glasses
My husband and I registered for and received 12 of each glass for our wedding and have had them for over two years since. We absolutely love them and certainly hope they stay around C&B for a very long time. I love the lean design and the very classic look combined with the modern touch of square. The squared design also fits very comfortably in your hand and very efficiently in the cupboards. I prefer the thinner rim of this glass, as compared to other glasses. We have had no issues with breakage, except by our own careless handling/dropping; We care for them both with dishwasher AND by-hand washings, and haven't had troubles with either. Bonus: they fit in can coozies! :-)

No Breakage Problems Here
The Strauss 13 oz. Coolers have been our "go to" glasses for years. We use them more than any of our other glasses. We have not had any problems with breaking or chipping. I have washed them many times on the top shelf of our dishwasher. When I wash them by hand I use one of those 'sponge on a plastic handle thingies' from the grocery store. These work better than a brush and are the perfect size for quick and thourough cleansing right to the bottom of these beautiful glasses.

Excellent Glasses
I don't know what the problem is with people having issues with breakage. I have owned these glasses for 13 years, love them and bought them for my daughter. They are beautiful, not too thin (which would require handwashing) and not too thick (which would not fit the design). I can only think that some people have dishwasher issues. Either with the machine or their loading. I wash these on the top shelf with zero problems.

Sleek and classy!
We have both the highball and old-fashion glasses and absolutely love them. They are attractive and showcase their contents beautifully. We love the square shape--very modern but not at all cumbersome like other modern glassware can be. Also, the shape makes them easy to store!

Second Time Around
I recently ordered these glasses for the second time. They are handsome and are perfect for gin and tonic, iced coffee or tea. They sevre equally well for milk or orange juice. In other word they are good every day glasses but look wonderful for entertaining. Compliments are flying!

Very Nice Glasses
Previous office manager had bought these glasses for the office kitchen but we needed more (broken, scratched). Didn't know where they'd been bought and luckily came across them while ordering other items. Selection of glassware is impressive and almost decided to start with a different shape when I found these. Fits our contemporary office decor and very pleased with look, price and delivery.

Man Friendly
I bought these glasses for my boyfriend who is an avid bourbon and whiskey drinker. He enjoyed these glasses very much - said they felt right in his hands. They are a good size for drinking drinks on the rocks or without the rocks.
