functional and pretty
Quite a conversation piece as well as top quality and fully functional. It cooks ideally every time and it just wouldn't be as fun to cook without this special piece of cookware! Bon Appetite!

Love!
We received this dutch oven as a wedding gift and I absolutely love it!! It's high quality as you can tell just from the weight and look of it and is more reasonably priced than the Le Creuset brand. You should really read the instructions for use and care - it recommends using a slightly lower heating temperature for cooking because the cast iron has a high heat conduction and things will burn easily if you're not careful.
Luckily the enamel coating is easy to clean. If there are stains or residue after you cook, put about an inch of water in the bottom and mix in a few tablespoons of baking soda and let it boil for a few minutes. Let it cool slightly and scrub normally with a sponge and dish soap. NEVER use bleach or steel wool to clean it- you will ruin it!!!
All in all a GREAT product- for yourself or for a gift!

Mario Batali Dutch Oven
I bought this and cooked Beef Bourginone. Cannot get the stain out from the red wine reduction. Has anyone else had this issue? I like my pots/pans to look new and have some that look like they have never been used. Not sure I would recommend this, wish I had splurged for the Le Cresuset. :(

Fantastic!
The dutch oven is perfect. I use it for pasta, soup, stew, casserole, chicken, etc. It's great for stove top and oven use..and I put it in the refrigerator for left overs. It's a great size for a family and washes very easily. I love it! I just bought another one for a wedding gift for my cousin.

Love it!
We received this as a gift off of our wedding registry. It is absolutely fantastic. I've used it to make everything from chili to beef bourguignon. Clean up is a breeze too!

Great product, great price
This is a fabulous alternative to the much more expensive other french-named brand. I have been waiting for years to buy a dutch oven, and I am very pleased with the quality of this product. My sister has owned a Batali dutch oven for a number of years and has also been very pleased with it. It is a very affordable choice that does everything the more expensive type does.

Slow-Cooking Goodness!
I have had this item for over a year now and I love it!
We don't own a dishwasher so it's always been washed by hand. The enamel has become discolored from darker sauces. Also, the enamel has chipped in a couple places. The chips around the edge are not a big deal, but a couple of the spikes on the top of the lid have lost their coating.
Overall I use this at least 1-2 times a week. it's held up rather well and is perfect for slow, even cooking! I think every kitchen should have at least one enamel coated cast iron piece. This one is my choice!
ps - Always be sure to pick up the lid with a hot pad!

Dutch Oven Wonder
Looks great, works better! You can use on the stovetop or in the oven (up to 500 F, which makes it perfect for french onion soup). Love it!

Worth Every Penny
I have this for several years now and I am loving it. I cook using this red dutch oven from making stew, soup, to making sauce.
If you use red wine or tomato to make your dish, you have to be prepare to have stain inside of your cast iron (the interior color is white).
