different than picture
I am enjoying the Circ dinner plates and circ bowls that I received in the mail last week. However, for those wondering, the background is not whitish sand as shown on the picture - but darker more like light brown. The colors on the plates are darker and what looked like dashes are really oblong shapes.
I am keeping the dishes because I like their size, their ability to microwave and dishwash. They are a great size - smaller than the basic 12 inch dinner plates that people use - smaller is recommended for those who might not want to "overdo" it at the table. I would have given 5 stars but the colors being so much deeper made me give 4. They are unusual and the pattern doesn't compete with the food on the plate.. lovely.

Not as shown
I purchased these dinner plates as I liked their retro, clean look especially the decorative colorful brush strokes around the edge. I was disappointed when I received them, as the background color of the plates was not a light bright cream as shown in the photo on the web, but rather, a dull, medium tan color that clashed with the colors around the edge. ( I believe that another reviewer said the same thing.) They were also a bit smaller than I expected, but that was my fault as the diameter is posted accurately on the web. I will be returning them.

be aware of the background color
These dishes are lovely. However, be aware that they are not as colorful as they seem on-screen. They showed as more of a parchment color on my computer screen, but in reality they are a deep sand color, which to me, mutes the vibrancy of the other colors. They would be much prettier if they had a lighter background--the colors would show much better. Because of that, I am returning them since they are not as vibrant as I wanted. If you prefer a toned-down dish, these would suit you well. Each dish is distinctive and has individual variations, which adds richness to the quality.
