Timeless classic
Most beautiful dishes I have ever owned. I received the entire collection for my wedding (seven years ago) and every time I use the pieces they make me smile!

Love the "elevation"
Wanted a bowl I can stack fruit (mostly oranges) in without taking up too much space, and this is the perfect solution! My oranges now have a home and there is still room for a plate by the side for my root vegetables on my small round table!

Love this!
I love the lines, the off-white, the shapes. However don't order this online! I ordered a teapot and it came with a poor glaze application, C&B send a replacement, with a similar issue! The third one was perfect.
I still love the dishes, especially the serving dishes, and would buy more-will buy more as needed!

Clean modern lines
I love the clean modern lines of the entire Eva Zeisel classic collection!

Delightful Dish!
This footed serving bowl is absolutely delightful! The sleek elegant design, and the subtle ivory hue, make it a classic addition to our serving dish collection. It is just deep enough to hold a large quantity of food but not too deep that you have to dig into it. We love it!

Disappointed
I ordered two sets of these dishes. Within the first order, despite seeming to be very well packed, several arrived broken and many, especially the bowls seemed cracked or crazed. Prompt replacements were sent. Alas, many of those bowls were also crazed, so I called for replacements of those. Then, I put some of the dishes in the washer. Too many of them had little spots, usually on the back, where the glaze was interrupted. During washing, water infiltrated through those holes. That caused darker water spotting to appear on the front adjacent to each of those holes. At that point I felt the likely serviceability of these dishes was never going to be satisfactory. I returned them all.
Throughout all customer service was excellent. I just wish the quality of the product was worthy of their efforts, as well as of the history of this lovely design.

You will be disappointed
The crazed bowls were promptly replaced, but since then more crazing (lines,) on dishes. What's worse now dark swirls under the glazes are showing up. One or two items at a time are blistering, showing dark lines abd swirls, and crazing. Fired badly. Do NOT put in dishwasher, though Crate and barrel says you can. This set, while aesthetically pleasing, has been so badly manufactured, fired, you should not buy them.

A very beautful tea pot
This tea pot, beautiful and gracefully designed by Eva Zeisel, is a joy to have and use daily. This was a wonderful purchase.

Pretty but a disappointment
Unique & beautiful dining set... BUT beware that the plates crack internally (3 out of 6 have cracked; would like a full set but afraid they will keep cracking). The plate doesn't break in half but you can see the crack marks on the top and underside.
These were my wedding registry dinnerware and I love them but for this (large) flaw.

check the bottoms
These plates are lovely, elegant, and light weight. Just one word of caution, look at the bottom of the plates. The way they dip the plates in the finishing glaze, sometimes causes the glaze to not fully seal the plates. The first time I washed some of the plates, I noticed a water stain under the glaze. The store exchanged them without problem, but it was a hassle!

A Versatile Classic
This beautiful offish-white piece can be used in many ways. It's classic lines fit in with almost any decor--modern to French provencial. A good gift item.

Nice style, not for everyday
I registered for these two years ago with the intent to use them as our everyday dishes. At the time, I didn't know anything about the durability of earthenware. Over time, many of the pieces began to craze badly. I recently saw a sign in a C&B store warning that putting these in the dishwasher and in the microwave increases the chances of crazing. Wish I had known this earlier. I love the design, but they are definitely not suitable for everyday use. Be warned...

Great purchase
My husband and I decided to forgo China and instead registered for the Classic Century Dinnerware set. We use it for every occassions-daily use, entertaining (casual or more formal holiday gatherings/dinner parties). The dinnerware is so versatile, we continuously receive compliments on it. We had the dinnerware for over 5 years and it looks new. We've recommended the product to our other friends getting married.

Elegant Setting, Comfortable Price
I LOVE this dinnerware. The design is elegant and unique, and ample sized for portions. The serving pieces that accessorize the dinnerware are always conversation starters; complementary to any meal. The cream color is versatile, it looks great in spring, fall, summer and Holidays. The dinnerware has such a nice architectural flair that you can get away with simple lighting and let the setting be the centerpiece. The only downside is that the pieces are delicate, not recommended for dishwasher, extreme heat, etc.

wedding dishes
I chose these for my wedding dishes because i wanted something for everyday use as i had china already. I love the design and look of these dishes but for everyday use they have suffered several chips. I have bought an additional couple sets to replace chipped pieces since my wedding almost 5 years ago. Lovely, goes with everything, but maybe not great daily use....

Gorgeous!!
Received this as a gift last Christmas, it really is a beautiful serving piece. I have it prominently displayed in my kitchen so I can cherish it on a daily basis! :)

Fab Dishes!
I looked at these dishes for years. When I finally needed a new set, I immediately purchased this set. They make for a lovely classic but modern table that can be made to be formal or casual. Fabulous.

Really Like It
I really like the styling of these plates. It is very distinctive -- classic and unconventional at the same time.
We have not had problems with durability; The finish is fine and the chip resistance is at least as good as other stoneware.

Beautiful but poorly made
Like other reviewers, I felt this was my forever dinnerware. I was born the year it was originally released. I took gentle care of it, but serving pieces and bowls chipped and crazed within weeks. Plates shattered at any impact along the edge, whereas other dinnerware, like Johnson Brothers designs, survived even major accidents without a scratch. This is the only commercial dinnerware I have EVER liked, and I am no youngster. But I will give up and collect hand thrown dinnerware unless Royal Stafford does something about the poor quality of this design.

Elegant and Practical
I have been married for 38 years and was born the year these dishes were designed. I have gone thru more sets of dinnerware than I can even recall. Not because I break them, but because I like to change things up now and then. So I buy small quantities of the dishes and patterns and pieces that I like and it makes life interesting not being confined to one thing all the time. I love the dinner plates of this set so much that time after time I would just look at them but for some reason, never purchase. Well I finally purchased 6 plates. They are lovely. But I mixed them with the Murano Soup bowls just to make things more fun and interesting. The subtle difference in color and finish adds interest and work very well together.. These plates hold up just fine, are practical for everyday use and elegant enough to use for special occasions. I was told that these plates were ok for the dishwasher but not in the microwave. That is ok by me and so far, that has worked. Whatever you own, you should care for properly. The problems that others have had may well be. If so, then these fine pieces are not for you and a less obvious finish might be better. But by no means are these dishes not worthy. I have had no problems with cracking or chipping. I have enjoyed each and every use.
