Everyday Value
This butter dish does the trick. At such a great price, why not? The only thing I'd say is that it doesn't always fit great in the side compartment of my refrigerator...although, it's an apartment sized refrigerator (not a cube frig, but not a full sized frig).

Very Pleased!
I had been looking for a butter dish for quite some time and just could not find what I was looking for. I was looking for a butter dish like my grandmother had when I was growing up. Well looked in Crate and Barrel catalog and there it was. Wasn't quite sure what to expect as the butter dish would be my first purchase from CB. I was surprised of how quick my order arrived. The quality of the butter dish was very surprising to me. The glass has a good thickness and weight. The price was great also. Very pleased. Will order again from CB.

Doesn't fit!
I bought this dish at the Crate & Barrel in Los Angles. It is a nice, simple design and a good value, but doesn't fit the butter I buy. My grocery stores carry the shorter, thicker sticks, and in this dish the top squishes the butter.

Classy & cute
I purchased this dish for when we use sticks of butter and I love it! It's design is classic and exactly what I was looking for. I can put it out on the table for any holiday and it keeps my butter fresh in the fridge!

Great Dish!
It's a great butter dish. It holds butter quite nicely. I like the fact that it is clear. I haven't had any problems with butter sticking to the top or sides.

I had this dish and it broke when we moved. I loved it so I bought a second. It is an excellent price yet does not look cheap. It is very nice to put out for company and will match any china set.

Not Good For Short Sticks
This dish is good for the longer, more narrow sticks of butter. For the shorter and taller sticks there is a problem. The butter often gets stuck in the lid.

Perfect fit all around, can't beat the price
As stated by the previous poster, East Coast butter sticks are longer and skinnier than their West Coast counterparts. You learn something new every day. For four bucks, you can't beat the value of something that closes completely around the butter, keeps it fresh, and that fits perfectly in the butter shelf on the fridge. And if it breaks, I can easily get a new one for cheap. Should've bought it months earlier than I did.

Not the right size for west coast
Not everyone knows this, but butter sold on the West Coast is sold in shorter, fatter sticks. This butter dish is exactly large enough such that the shorter fatter stick doesn't brush the top if placed carefully exactly in the center and the stick is perfectly clean. If the stick moves ever so slightly to the right or left, or there are a few morsels of butter under the stick, the stick rubs on and often actually sticks to the top of the butter dish. It's extremely annoying.
I have no doubt this is a perfectly serviceable dish for the longer, skinnier butter sticks used in the Central and Eastern parts of the country. (See wikipedia if you've never heard about this.)

Butter dish
This is a great bargan. It's simple and functional. This is the second one I've purchased as part of my first one was broken by dropping it on a tile floor. I immediately went back to Crate & Barrel online to replace it. I didn't even look anywhere else as I know the quality and price were right here.

It works
This is a good functional butter dish. Nothing wrong with it at all. Is it the most beautiful thing on the planet no, but should a butter dish be that, probably not. It holds butter, is not something you need to worry about breaking easily and can get tossed in the dishwasher. I can't ask for more with a butter dish.

Wonderful Buy
Bought 6 months ago & nice looking & completely durable secondary to thick glass. We use butter practically at all dinner parties & serve butter in this pretty dish. Also great price for long lasting staple in kitchen accessories.
