Rated 4 out of 5 by from dulit the toaster of the queen and me!! I bought this toaster about a month and a half ago. Of course I am in love with the look of it (how could you not!?!?) but it is also a wonderful toaster with a simple and straight forward design. Too many choices that never really work was my last toaster...now I have the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy! I must confess...I am a true toast snob. I had a pretty good toaster, which I passed to my son and his wife so I could make room for this Dualit. All I can say is, LOVE IT! Toasts great, and I have way more control over the browning. This toaster looks great and is easy to use. The only criticism I have is that the slots need to be a little longer, (NOT wider), for certain deli breads like rye and pumpernickel. I cut those slices of breads in half so they'll fit. Overall, I'm very Happy with my Dualit Toaster!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic addition to a modern kitchen My husband and I are frugal people and we went years without a toaster. We pan fried bread, stuck it under the broiler or when we were feeling especially lazy, just threw it directly on top of the stove. The Dualit NewGen toaster in now a staple on our counter (prime real estate) and I can't believe we spent so many years eating subpar toast. I know you're thinking that it's absurd to pay this much for a toaster, but you WILL have this toaster for the rest of your natural life and your grandchildren will fight over who inherits it! It's beautiful and works brilliantly!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I loved my old Dualit - not my new one! I had a 4 slice Dualit toaster for about 8 years and loved it- nothing fancy, just a good solid toaster, that gave us perfect toast time and time again. The timer finally gave up the ghost after being used at least 4 times a day and I decided to opt for a new Dualit with the additional features on the newer model. This toaster was not the Dualit that I knew and loved...it didn't toast evenly at all and took much longer to toast than our old one. Well - these aren't cheap toasters so after suffering with this toaster for about 6 months I took it back. Crate and Barrel did give me a new one, which I was most grateful for - as I was sure that I just had a bad one on a fluke. Sadly the second one was just marginally better on the even toasting issue and after just 2 months the timer was getting stuck in the ON position, not turning off the toaster, burning the toast and potentially causing a fire hazard! So back it went - Crate and Barrel acknowledged that these toasters had been coming back frequently and I see they are now on clearance. I am now just trying their Breville toaster - first morning went well - just not as crazy about all the electronics involved and the modern style - but it was my only other high end choice at C&B. I will let you know!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and Utilitarian Love the simplicity of this product. Does what a toaster should do --- toast--- Slightly bothered by the fact that it is now on clearance for significantly less. None the less...a good purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST MADE TOASTER ON THE PLANET!!! Dualit toasters are renowned. Hand constructed from England. The English know toast! This is a retro look with great toasting features. The CLEARANCE price is awesome and brings this first grade toaster to a manageable price. Great price for a first-class toaster. I own 2 dualit toasters. I highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings Not sure if we got a bad one, but we get very inconsistent results with this toaster. It produces hot spots and can burn parts of otherwise well toasted slices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No better than Dualit This is my second Dualit toaster. My first one still works fine, but decided to upgrade to a four slice model. The Dualit toasters are the best around. They cook evenly and quickly and are beautiful to look at. Love the canvas white with the black dials-looks good with stainless steel and black appliances and mixes well with other colored countertop appliances. The pricing on this is unbelievably great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and efficient. Great toaster, had one of these in England, toasts bread evenly and you can just raise bread to check progress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this in Blue ~16 years ago And I've always been glad I bought it. Yes, there are cheaper toasters out there. But as a device that lives on display by virtue of daily use. It's a joy to look at, A joy to use, get one you won't ever regret it. Also the toast on one side option can be handy. I expect it to last my lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toast stays in toaster - keeps warm Great Toaster. Takes a bit to get used to the manual functions.Toast does not pop up automatically instead it stop heating at the end of the time.My family enjoys this because the toast stays in the toaster when done and stays warmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bEST TOASTER EVER! I have had this toaster for a short time but I can see the difference as apposed to the many other toasters I have owned. Had done a ton of research and found this toaster was rated on top of the list of many others reviewed. The price for this item was outstanding. I am so happy I purchased this from Crate&Barrel. A great store!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW - Finally!!! Been looking for a REAL toaster, like Grandma had - Found it!!First slices were set at 2.5 - - bad - dry through. Typical American thin sandwich bread.Next try Portland Rustic Wheat at 1.5 - heaven! Crunchy on the outside, soft and squishy on the inside, Hot, melted the butter instantly. The perfect piece of toast!!! Thank you!!!! It has been a very long search. Very worth the money.Only trouble - too short for specialty breads. Have to cut the end off to fit, but the final result is worth it.Will purchase another if they make one to accept 160 mm bread width.
