Hand-hewn in bold proportions, this versatile media storage console has the heft and character of a European farmhouse antique. The simple, rustic design is handcrafted entirely of kiln-dried, harvested mango wood with authentic peg detailing and a rich honey lacquer finish waxed to a soft sheen. Three removable shelves offer a variety of component configurations. Two recessed panel doors conceal electronics or media; a central glass door offers remote control capability. Feet
I have not taken delivery of this item yet so I don't know how I like it but customer service recommends you place it on coasters as the finish may come off on flooring, but they don't say how big the feet are. I found out the feet are 3# diameter, so the 2" coasters from BBB will not fit. This is good to know BEFORE they deliver.

Ties the room together
This is a beautiful piece of furniture and looks better than I expected it to. One bit of advice though - measure your components in advance. I was really surprised that my Bluray player is too deep to fit inside the center cabinet. I thought that was why this piece of furniture existed - to hide components. So now I have the Bluray on top and just the cable box inside. Still love it, but I'd love it more if it housed my media stuff.

Wonderful TV/Media Console
We just purchased the Honey Basque Media Console. I love it. THe wood is very rich, yet is a minimalist piece in our living room, so the room seems bigger. It is a light neutral color so it goes with everything. The rustic feel is perfect for our room that is more casual than formal. It's also very easy to take care of - we also have the dining room set, which is very beautiful. I highly recommend this product

New meets old.
The Basque media console is a beautiful piece of furniture. Although flat screen TVs look futuristic, sleek and modern, I wanted something that looked more traditional for my new 55" flat screen TV to stand on. This is a great piece of furniture and fit the bill perfectly. The shallow depth made it less intrusive in my room, this is a deceptively large piece of furniture and it really helped in opening up my living space which had been dominated by an ugly entertainment centre. The finish and craftmanship of this piece is beautiful, the price was right, and the delivery was seemless, quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend this piece to anyone who wants a little touch of olde worlde to offset the ultra modern tone of today's high tech gadgetry.

Nice Console but a bit rough
I really love the look and feel of this piece, and I appreciate the sustainable material aspect as well. The only complaint that I have is that the bottom of the legs are not fully finished (sanded/varnished/buffed) on my specific piece, and therefore, they chip or are chipping which makes me wonder how long until a big piece comes off. The color is great and it perfectly fit the spot I needed to fill.

Nice piece of furniture
My husband and I purchased this piece from C&B because, unlike many other places, it was made from solid wood. It is a lovey piece of furniture and a nice addition to our living room. Only complaint is that it doesn't have enough ventilation for various electronics and can get a bit hot if the door is kept closed all the time.

Beautiful Media Console
I bought this because I wanted a "media console" that didn't look like a media console. Usually they look so cheesy, and this looks like a real piece of furniture, not just something to put the television on. The knobs and detailing are great, the wood itself is stunning, and it's as sturdy and solid as it could possibly be. This is a piece of furniture that will last a lifetime and is well worth the money.

Wonderful Multi-purpose use
We bought several basque pieces for our apartment and this is our favorite of all of them. We used it at first as a TV stand but it is now being used as a buffet in our dining area. The is actually a great deal of storage space in here and the closed door spaces have pull out shelves that make it easy to access the things you store. The glass feature is nice too, we put some of our nice serveware in there so it can be seen through the glass. We love the basque you really cant go wrong with anything in this line!

Wonderful Large TV Console
I purchased this specifically to hold my 60" TV. Most consoles are under 60" and I wanted one that would hold my tv with space on both sides. The console has plenty of space, the wood is stained very nicely, and is very easy to clean. It looks great on hardwood floor. When I received it, my console had chips in the wood and a big stain on top. After calling, they swapped it out at no charge. My only criticism is those dangly cabinet knobs. Didn't really go with the rest of my room, but I swapped them out for some other knobs and the console looks really great. Highly recommend, especially considering the low price for a console this size.

Beautiful Basque Piece!!
My husband and I have been shopping around for quite some time to find a media console to place our new flat screen TV on (52"). We were very excited upon finding this piece at our local Crate & Barrel store. The qualities that sold us on this Basque console were the attention to every detail, the fact that it's solid and heavy, and also the entire piece is constructed of real wood. For the price, you can't really find good quality furniture like this at other stores, unless of course they are made of synthetic wood, which in many cases the prices are still high. Overall, we are extremely pleased with yet another purchase from Crate & Barrel, and I'm certain that you will be happy with this item as well!! :-) (Note: We didn't experience any difficulty storing our media equipment on the shelves. They were plenty deep for our DVR / DVD / VCR / gaming stuff.)

Beautiful piece
We love this console (we use it as a bookcase and accent piece rather than a media console) and get complements on it from almost everyone that walks into our room. Great quality wood, and a beautiful color.

Wonderful piece! Adds warmth to a room
The piece really adds warmth to our large living room. The dark wood and rustic character are exactly my style. Like others, my one complaint is the depth. It does not fit the disc changer for my old stereo but the receiver fits fine. I paired this with the Taka chest (discontinued???) and the Basque console table.

Functional and Fashionable
We were very happy with this purchase. It is a striking piece of furniture and it amazingly holds all our of electronics. It's also extremely easy to keep clean (soft rag for dusting is all it needs).

Handsome and Sturdy

Nice Piece But Not Perfect
When I saw this media console, I thought it would be perfect, as I have the matching buffet/hutch and they would compliment each other well. Unfortunately, upon placing my media items in the middle part of the cabinet, I found that the door would not shut. The reason for this is due to there not being ample space for cords in the back. Most tuners (which are the core piece of a media set) are all pretty much the same size. With all of the cords that have to plug into the back of the tuner, it makes it so the device sits too far forward and the door will not shut. The only solution is to have a larger whole cut into the back but I have yet to do this. I certainly do not want to ruin the cabinet. For now, the door just sits open which looks pretty ridiculous, but there is not another option at this time.

Great purchase
This was a great purchase. I love the green aspects of the product as well. I only gave it 4 stars because we did not care for the knobs. We repaced the knobs with some round dark gray knobs and it is perfect now.

beautiful
Really looks good in person, I really like the oil finish and the rich tones of the wood. The only complaint I have is that it is not quite deep enough for our stereo equipment, but it does fit all of our tv stuff nicely.
