Happy with it
Just a couple of comments for consideration. The box was heavy. Disappointed to see so much styrofoam but it was packaged well. Had a bit of damage: a scuff on the front of the island.
It would be REALLY nice to have had 1-2 extra post and cam fasteners as one broke during assembly and they are a specialized item. We couldn't go to our supplies and replace it.
I am pleased that stationary feet were included; gives the island a more permanent look.

Great Kitchen Island
I LOVE this island. Not only was it easy to assemble, it is very sturdy and holds a ton of cooking pans, serving dishes, etc. The drop leaf top is perfect for entertaining as well. It has made my kitchen the "gathering place" whenever I entertain.

Fantastic Island
I spend a lot of time looking for a sturdy kitchen island for my apartment kitchen. And I am so happy with this purchase. The island itself required some assembly, which worried me at first on the quality of the product. But all-in-all, it is a beautify piece and extremely sturdy. The best part is the thick plank top. It's now my favorite part of the kitchen.

Perfect Kitchen Addition
This piece requires assembly and it takes a bit of time but it is well worth it. I use it as a coffee station in my kitchen so guests can help themselves to coffee without getting in the way of the cooking.

Has some design issues
First: This couldn't be shipped to my local store for pick-up, it had to come to my house by carrier. It comes flat in a box and needs to be put together by someone with at least average skills. For $100 to ship, it should have already been assembled!! Get a mallot, electric screwdriver and needle nose pliers. The Bad: I have experience putting together this type of furniture (and hate it). It took me over 2 hours. You will need a second person to help with some parts. TONS of packing material, lots of flat styrofoam, plastic wrap and a huge cardboard box. Its going to take me weeks to parcel all this out in the weekly trash pick up. Some of the wood finish was worn, and a drawer piece had a crack in the wood from the factory installed glider. Some of the assembly involves those round metal catches that are pushed into holes then turned to lock onto a screwed in post. These were cheap and actually chipped and broke when I tried to tighten them. I don't like this system because they eventually wear, especially if you move the furniture a lot. They also don't pull the wood pieces together properly, leaving seam gaps in some places (sigh). As others have said, the sliding doors are not very smooth. Two design issues: At the end of the install, you are suppose to secure the wood counter top to the base with hex bolts. Based on the design, there is no way to tighten 4 of the 6 because you cant turn the hex key due to the structure of the cart getting in the way. Other reviewers also noted this problem. I had to use a hex bit and needle nose pliers, and still couldnt get them tightened all the way. Also, the shelf supports are smooth metal with a threaded end. You cannot thread these by hand very far. You will need needle nose pliers again. A better design would have been to slot the ends so a screwdriver could be used to screw them in. Good: The hardware is well labeled and put in seperate bags. The directions are fairly well written with better than average pictures. The wood is heavy and solid. Large parts to put together vs. lots of small parts, makes it easier to figure out and assemble. It could have been worse (IE: you dont have to install gliders on the drawers, wood dowells are pre-installed and glued). It looks good once put together, it's hard to tell it was assembled from a box. Let's hope it holds up over the long haul, especially for the price!

Love it overall
I love the ease and accessibility of this island. Great storage. Took my husband 2 hours to put together alone. It is very stable with the wood feet on, and we use as extra counter space for chopping vegetables, as well as a center for fondue during parties. My only frustration is that the paint on the doors is peeling at the corners, and is hard enough that I sliced my finger on it. Don't go poking at the peeling paint when you see it!

Perfect Kitchen Island
I love my Belmont Kitchen Island; it fits in my breakfast nook perfectly. It's great for eating in the kitchen and for guests to sit and visit while I'm cooking. Good storage spot and it was easy to assemble.

Great Island
This island was perfect for our long kitchen area. It is very well made, solid and heavy! I like the fact that it comes with both wheels or legs for it. We went with legs to keep it more planted, and I'm still able to move it, with a little effort, to clean under it. Looked like it was quite a task for my husband to assemble, so give yourself time and lots of space! The white matched easily with my existing white cabinets. Happy with this purchase.

fantastic cart
Bought this cart to help with kitchen storage; it is wonderful, classy, and solid. I put it together by myself, and while it would have been easier to do with another person, it is do-able by just one person, female at that! Not difficult, just the top is quite heavy to lift. Highly recommend this versatile cart if you need extra space or storage. Classy.

Perfect kitchen island
I love this piece of furniture. We desperately needed extra storage space in our small kitchen and this works perfectly. It has a ton of room for storage and extra counter space. We also bought stools so it serves as our kitchen table too. Assembly was a bit of a challenge and you must have two people do to it.

Perfect in Every Way!
My new kitchen island is even better than I had anticipated. It is well constructed, excellent quality and very attractive. The butcher block top is wonderful and I love the drop leaf where I can easily flip it open and enjoy a cup of coffee or some breakfast, Add a couple stools and you have a lovely addition to your kitchen. Assembly was easy, instructions were clear but you will need a helper. I heartily recommend this product. Quality always from Crate & Barrel. Packing was exceptional.

Beautiful Piece
This is a gorgeous piece that really brightened up my kitchen and added some much needed storage space. It's extremely well made. Panels are very heavy so some parts of construction do require another person to hold together. Instructions were well written and very easy to follow. Very roomy inside. Drawers are deep and large. Extending table top has proven to be great in providing a large workspace when I'm baking.
Well worth the money and I'm sure it will last for a very long time.

Good, well-made product
I am very happy with this island. It is solid and well made, and very sensibly laid out. My only gripe would be that during self-assembly, the step involving attaching the butcher block top to the base is nearly impossible to do. But once assembled, it is beautiful and functional.

This island went together easily, with a minimum of tools necessary for assembly. Directions were clear and easily followed. The product quality was very good. I was very pleased with this purchase.

GREAT!
It's exactly as advertised. All solid wood. Assembly was fairly easy. It's heavy, you will need help. I opened it in my garage and carried it in piece by piece.

Nice & useful storage piece
All in all a good product. A little time consuming to put together but feels like a sturdy well-made piece. The drawers and doors slide easily and most importantly it holds a lot of stuff. I would recommend this product.

love it!
This is a great product. It doubled the counterspace in our kitchen and added a lot more storage. It is solid and well made, and it looks beautiful. It took a couple of hours to put together, but the directions are fairly clear. I liked that the various types of hardware were all packaged separately and labeled.
