Simple and Elegant
I spent a lot of time looking for a bedroom set that I liked but didn't find anything that entirely fit my style. I loved the Dawson bed, though, and one of it's strengths is that it is simple enough that it can match with dressers that are not in its collection.
I was concerned in the store that it didn't look like it had a center support, but at delivery and assembly (so glad they assemble!), an extra leg in the center was there to prevent bowing.

A perfect choice
I looked for several years to find a headboard and/or bedframe that would look gorgeous, be durable enough and could function in city apartments (meaning nothing too bulky or overwhelming). As luck would have it, I stumbled across the Dawson bed in C&B and fell in love immediately. It's a gorgeous color and great wood, has simple and clean lines, and is high enough off the bed I can store sweater boxes underneath the middle, pushed more to one side that it's not an unbecoming sight from my doorway.
I'd recommend this bed for anyone considering it, and would purchase it again in a heartbeat.

Great Decision
I was looking for a bed that was simple, solid and I did not want a foot board. The Dawson is great, the finish is rich and I like the subtle appearance of the grain. You could go a number of ways with the style, it goes with my current bureau and I think I'm going to add the nightstands to complete the look (simple clean lines). The delivery was on-time, polite and professional - Yeah!

clean design
The bed looks good with the dark wood. It's easy to make it in the morning since the entire mattress is exposed so no hassle. It's not too high either even the mattress board.

Love this bed.
The Dawson bed is awesome. It's a great platform bed, no box spring required. It's a great height too, not too low like some platform beds. The design is contemporary and would go well with many furnishing styles.

Bed had Beetle Infestation
Feel I have to leave a review to warn others... it may have been a total fluke, but this bed had a powderpost beetle infestation that became noticeable a couple weeks after delivery (holes in headboard, wood dust piling up on floor beneath). According to a Crate Barrel phone rep after I described it, they had a problem with these with the same type of wood (mango wood) in a media center. So it may be limited to that type of wood.
To be fair, customer service was very responsive, they picked up the bed fairly quickly with no delivery charge, and refunded the amount of the purchase with no arguments. But in good conscience I can't recommend this bed. You will be taking a risk.

I love my bedroom!
I purchased the king bed, two nightstands and the 6-drawer dresser last summer. I shopped for months for the perfect bedrrom set, and this certainly is it! The set is extremely well made. The wood is a gorgeous dark color and very solid. Another great Crate&Barrel purchase!

Love this bed
We love this furniture. We had been searching for several years for bedroom furniture. We love that it's a little taller than most platform beds and it doesn't have a footboard (which I don't like). The curved back makes it very comfortable to set up in bed.

Stable and beautiful
We recently this bed after moving cross country and we love it! It's very solid, stable and doesn't make any noise. It's simple but attractive and can go with a variety of decors.

attractive affordable bed
We live in an old home with a staircase that has a turn in it, so not much can fit up our stairs, including a box spring. This bed was the answer to our several year search for an attractive and affordable bed that could be used without a box spring. The color matches our other furniture well and the bed is quite sturdy and well-made. The fact that the bed arrives disassembled (although is assembled on-site by the delivery people) helped to get it up our narrow staircase. My only complaint with delivery is that the guys nicked our wall just a smidge., but nothing a little touch-up paint can't fix. It's been nice to finally be off the ground after 4 years of having a mattress on the floor. We also like how the simple, yet elegant design fits in with our arts and crafts style home.

Beautiful bedroom
My husband and I bought the bed last year and just had to complete the set because the pieces are so well-made. The bed is very simple and sophisticated; we put our own box spring under the mattress so the bed is a bit high but looks nice with a dust ruffle over it. We recently bought the 4- and 6-drawer chests: the drawers themselves have ample space and close very quietly. We got free in-home delivery and the deliverymen were timely and polite. Overall, great buy and great quality, I plan to have this set for years!

Good Choice
I purchased a queen Dawson bed for a vacation home with a small bedroom. It does not stand away from the wall as much as some and has great style. I was very happy with my purchase and with the delivery/set up.

Love it!
The bed is simple and beautiful. It is much darker that the photo online; more like an espresso color which was really the color that I wanted. It is very sturdy and solid. I love the small curve to the headboard. This bed is also about 10" shorter than most of modified sleigh style beds which is great because it doesn't take up too much room. The bottom has enough room under it for storage. The delivery as usual was superb. I got the bunky board so that it would be easier to make the bed.

Fantastic Bed
I bought this bed to replace an identical platform bed (without headboard) from another manufacturer. The Dawson is superior in quality and style. This bed is fantastic!

Beautiful bed! Great service!
I searched all over the web as well as local stores to find a sleigh-style platform bed without a footboard in a dark mahogany finish. This is it! As described, it does have a grainy wood finish. It is a very deep espresso/mahogany color. It was delivered with impeccable care: No dings, scratches; white glove service set everything up and we tipped the delivery guys to move our 270lb latex mattress back onto the bed. I love that it is low-profile, so I don't need a step ladder to climb into bed. It matches our mahogany stained dresser from another company very well. This is not a bed that makes a huge statement, as there is very little of it that you actually see when the bedspread is on and there are pillows lining the back (we have 4 Euro pillows along the back). But, it is exactly what I wanted! And, I will also add that the customer service by C&B was excellent: They must have called me 4-5x to work out delivery arrangements and keep me updated as to the progress of delivery. Impressive!
