Great table
I purchased this table 3 month ago and it still looks like new and we use the table as a kitchen table with 3 year old twins! ! I put paste wax on every week and thats the best to prevent the table from any stains !

Great rustic table
I've had this table for about a week and I'm loving it. I also had read the reviews about the table's sensitivity with marks/rings, but after discussing the care with a C&B employee, I realized it was nothing to worry about. He recommended using 4/0 steel wool (soft) and paste wax or beeswax on the table's surface every six months or so to get rid of any rings or marks that you happen to make; he even did a demonstration for me on the table in-store, which is how they maintain the floor models. I use coasters/trivets as a precaution, but I'm not stressing over it. It's a great family table, and it's meant to be used!
Though it's rectangular , it's relatively narrow compared to the square high-top table we had, so it actually gives us more room in our open-plan dining area. I paired it with some white cottage-style chairs, and I think the contrast is lovely. I love the rustic/farmhouse feel, and the imperfections just add to the character. Great purchase!

Use Grapeseed Oil to Get Rid of Rings!
First off, I never write reviews but I saw that some people were upset with the rings and marks that are left on the table. My husband and I picked this table out knowing that dents and scratches added by future children would only add character to the table. We do not use coasters or trivets. Instead, I have found after after owning this table for nearly a year, I can "polish" it up and remove marks with rubbing a little grapeseed oil over the table with a paper towel and letting it dry up a bit before putting my center piece back on. It doesn't take much oil and the rings disappear. We matched it with the Folio chocolate chairs and we always get great compliments on the set. It is my favorite piece of furniture!

Loved it but wanna leave it! Buyer beware!
Be forewarned and believe everything that others have written. I bought this table for my new kitchen. I got rid of an old plank table that was too big - so what appealed to me first were the clean lines, the smooth top (no cracks for crumbs to fall in to) the rustic distressed look, and of course the size - you can fit 6 but its only 63"long. I think if you are a couple with no kids or you are purchasing for a dining room this is a great table. But for a kitchen with 4 big kids it's a disaster.
I have no idea why Crate and Barrel puts this wax finish on their tables, but I do notice that some of the newer tables have a "protective laquer finish". This wax is horrible and shows EVERYTHING! It's not the wood that gets scratches it's the wax. I have had the table about 3 months and I have to buff the scratches in the wax daily. It's not even from eating at it since I always put placements on it, it's when someone puts a backpack or set of keys or a book down on it. I've never had a piece of furniture with a wax finish - what's the point?? I thought about putting a coat of satin polyurethane on it when it first arrived, but then realized it wouldn't penetrate the wood because of the wax.
If all that isn't bad enough - last week my teenager put a hot flat dish out of the microwave down on it without a placemat and there is a 4"x 6" dull gray rectangle scorched into the finish. I really just wanted a nice table to finish off my renovated kitchen - I didn't want it to look so awful in such a short amount of time. Nothing takes more wear and tear in a house than a kitchen table so why make something that is not really suited for its intended purpose??? If I can get rid of the wax and put my own protective finish Im sure I will go back to loving the table.

Nice Family Table
Bought this table for our summer house. Nice and sturdy, seats 6, and casual. Like the wood grain. Fits in perfectly.

Great Table
We went and saw this table in store and ordered immediately after we saw it. It's a strong wood that looks really great in a living room or dining room. We added the Lowe Side Chaire in Red to the table and have added in color around it which the table looks great with. It's a good size and easily fits six people, but I would recommend a bench on one side if you're going to try to fit in three on one side.
The table is not the easiest to care for and you need to be cautious of spills, etc. My only recommendation is to be sure you understand cleaning instructions and stick to them!

Love this table
I purchased this table and the colorful blue chairs that were suggested a few months ago- and I couldn't be happier with the product. I had read the reviews here and therefore have been careful with the finish- I use place mats and trivets, and I haven't had any problems. The table has a nice rustic character, so even if it did get a bit scratched or smudged, I don't think I would really mind. Great product, fair price.

Great Table
After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit hesitant to buy the table - due to the rings/spots that were reported. But I am so glad I did. I started out obsessed with not having anything spill on it...but then relaxed and just enjoyed the table. There are a few minor spots on it - but it adds to the character of the table. It is the main area of are apt. And we have received so many compliments on it.

Glad to have bought this table
Saw this table in a magazine for a kitchen renovation and was really taken by it's contemporary yet cozy style. It's dark neutral color allows it to be matched with either wood or metal chairs. It's probably not the type of item that can handle heat and/or water easily (as others have commented) but I'm totally pleased with it appearance and how it's handled drips and spills so far. Would recommend it to anyone who's looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

Great Dining Table
I'm very happy with my recent purchase of this dining table. It fits the "rustic" look I was going for. It easily fits 6 chairs. I have to confess we havent' eaten at it yet but I'm hoping that if we follow the care instructions given we will not have any problems.

Real beauty
I'll give you the positives and things you might want to consider... that some might consider negatives.
First of all, I love this table. I was really nervous about ordering it online (I live in Oklahoma and we don't have any C&B's here). I asked lots of questions over the phone and felt confident, so when it came in the mail I was excited.
Here are my thoughts about it:
- this table is simple but rustic - not something that will go out of style or be trendy. I even think colors of wood go out of style, but this brown is a nice medium chestnut brown - not red tinted like some trends go. It is timeless to me.
- I hate cleaning crumbs out of cracks. I love that the "seams" of this table are smooth and sanded - no big cracks to contend with when wiping up (and yet manges to be rustic - yay!) There are bumps and imperfections, but they aren't like those machine scored tables that are supposed to be rustic, but look cheesy. Also it isn't a high gloss which I personally hate. One or two of the imperfections are a bit bigger, but still, nothing like a giant crack or something.
- I love that this is solid wood. The finish is soft (you can take a fingernail and easily peel off the wax) - but that is the nature of wax. Use placemats and trivets and you'll be all set. Never put hot mugs or anything directly on the finish.
- I actually used the table to knead some dough and the finish (the wax) came off on that part of the table. It looked dull and I was bummed out. I took a little mineral oil and rubbed it on the area and it cleaned right up and returned to the same dull sheen. I was thrilled. Exactly the kind of forgiving table I wanted.
- I am actually not worried about the wax scratching etc because I think it adds to the rustic charm. This is a table you will have a long time (heck you could even sand it down and refinish if needed - yay for real wood), so embrace the knicks and scratches. From what I can tell, mineral oil is a great way to rejuvenate the wood. I'll probably rub some on the whole surface every year.
I'm adding all this in my review because I couldn't see the table in person and would have liked this info before ordering.
Enjoy - I think you'll love it.

Beautiful!
I can't attest to the durability of this table because I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but it really is gorgeous. The imperfections in the surface really give it a unique character and I love every mark. I was told by the people at the store that you can use a little paste wax with 0000 steel wool to get rid of unwanted marks but I haven't had to try it. To tell you the truth, we don't actually use our dining room table often so I felt safe buying it in spite of the cautions of other reviewers.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
I purchased this table beacuse it was the perfect fit for my space and was exactly the look I wanted. The good is it is beautiful to look at , the bad is you can't really use it and the ugly is the way it looks now after having it less than a year. If you purchase this table you better use a tablecloth and placemats and be exta extra careful about anything hot, warm or cold. It leaves rings and marks from anything and everything.

Beautiful Table, But...
The Terravida table is beautiful--I had searched for over a year for the perfect table and thought I had found it with this one. However, so many precautions must be taken just to set down to eat a meal on this table. If any cold or hot drink/plate is set on the table without a coaster or place mat -- it will leave a ring/spot. Just accidentally setting a warm burrito in a wrapper on the table for a minute left a rectangular spot. Extreme care must be taken for this table to maintain its beauty. I suppose this is fine for some, but not for a family like mine that spends most of our time @ at kitchen table not only for eating, but for visiting. Unfortunately I must concede to a full time table cloth to protect this table. It is a beautiful table, but I must say I am disappointed to see a dining table so sensitive.

Rustic and Elegant
Great table. I've combined it with the Basque Bench honey and it matches well - the color is quite the same, the legs have the same design and both bring a rustic touch.
The look of the wood is so beautiful I don't want to use table clothes... it's also very sturdy. It's on my breakfast room, so we use it daily and kids playing around all the time.
The best option I've ever found to have an "elegant farm" look.

Great looking kitchen table
Love our new kitchen table. We ordered this along with the Village Aged Walnut Side Chairs and while they are not a perfect match in terms of wood/color, we really like how they complement one another.
We have been careful not to write on this table as it will definitely leave an impression so be sure to use something underneath to protect it.
Caring for the table is a breeze so far - just a quick wipe down after meals is all we've done and its looking great.

FANTASTIC!!!!
The table is a great size for a condo/apartment with a formal dining area. It's the ideal combination of rustic and contemporary. I love the fact that it is made of recycled teak. I ordered this by phone after seeing it in the store, and the clerk was a little concerned that I may not like the grooves/markings, etc. from the recycled wood. On the contrary, it makes the table unique and charming. I've added a Red Pullman Bench, and the colors work. I could have gone for a cheaper dining room table set that included chairs, but it was important to me to find something more eco-friendly. Most furniture made of repurposed wood can be pricey, so this table is quite reasonable for what it is. I am really happy with it.
