The Story

No leaves, no fuss. Expandable tabletop extends a warm welcome to unexpected guests, opening its seating capacity from 4 to 6 in one easy motion. Simply turn the walnut veneer top halfway clockwise and flip it open to double its surface space and reveal concealed storage (great for linens) underneath the apron. Solid wood base and legs are given a creamy vamelie finish, painted and distressed by hand, and wax topcoat. Tabletop is given the same finish with a lighter hand to show off the wood's grain and natural color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great basic table I bought this table in 1999 (with a different, lighter finish) and it's still my kitchen table. We destroyed the table top's finish about 2 years ago (dye leaked on to the table, and we didn't realize until the next day) and still haven't gotten around to replacing it. The table is sturdy and the storage space is great for linens. We usually use it for 3-4 people, but have seated 6 when needed.I highly recommend this long-lasting piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for our space! We bought this table for our kitchen/breakfast area. We currently do not have formal dining area (pool table), so this is our only table to eat at.Over the past couple of months, we have left the table at it's largest size. There is plenty of legroom, and I find that I don't bang my knees near as much as I used to. We haven't had a reason to "flip" it over to the smallest dimension yet, but will definitely do so whenever we have a party and want to use it as a buffet table up against the wall. The small storage area underneath is definitely a bonus, and allows up to keep extra place mats, napkins, silverware...etc. easily accessible.
