The bed looks beautiful and the quality looks good BUT looks can be deceiving. The piece dings very easy and the dings result in white marks that look awful. Our footboard arrived with a few of those that occurred during shipping and C & B sent us a new one. I hit the new one with a remote control (not hard at all) and it scratched it and left a white mark......obviously only a tiny amount of wood covering. The bed is beautiful, but not an every day use bed.

Sturdy & Stylish
The bed is made with high quality wood and seems to be very sturdy/substantial. The style can go with any room decor and is simple without lacking character. We had the bed assembled during delivery, but I believe it traditionally comes unassembled.

King Size Bed Excellent Quality and Value
We bought the king size bed and it is perfect for us in every way. It is beautiful, high quality and an excellent value. We love everything we have ever purchased from Crate and Barrel and I think they have some of the best customer service around.
I will always recommend and buy from Crate and Barrel!

Beautiful Bed
Prior to purchasing this bedframe, I read all the reviews and hoped it would be as great a purchase that so many others had experienced. I was not disappointed. This bed is so well made and stunning in appearance. I absolutely love it! The price is amazing and for Crate and Barrel, you can't go wrong with this beautiful piece of furniture. It was easy to assemble. I highly recommend this modern Brighton bed.

Love it!
This bed is not only beautiful, it was so easy to assemble. The directions are clears and easy to follow. The bed looks fantastic! Just expect to have a lot of styrofoam to dispose of, other than that it's fabulous!

Excellent value
This review is for the king-sized bed, which is beautiful, solid, doesn't squeak, and looks expensive; the style and color coordinate nicely with existing furniture (similar dark brown, and black). Have not experienced any lingering strong finish odors. Arrived in three large boxes, and assembly was straightforward - two people make the job easier (especially with king-size). We have a foam mattress with low-profile box spring, and used the lower of the two frame settings; the top of the mattress with bedding is about an inch below the top of the footboard. Typical under-bed storage boxes (hard-sided) are a tad too large to fit at this setting, but cotton fabric versions work nicely (and are better for your clothing, too).

Beautiful, but....
Purchased bedroom set in coffee color (Queen Bed, Bedside Table, Dresser and Desk). Love the look, it is beautiful. It is in a guest bedroom so there is very little traffic in this room. Unfortunately, the finish on the edges of the desk and dresser are coming off, so the engineered wood perhaps is delicate to say the least. I've had to take black marker to cover the light wood color of these areas. I was very disappointed in this development. A friend purchased exact same set in white and it was delivered the same day as mine, then later she bought an additional set for another bedroom and she has not mentioned this problem.

Inexpensive Good Quality
I have had this bed for about a year now. I found it easy to put together and love the look. The color is true to the picture.

Quality and so easy to put together
My wife and I ordered the whole Brighton set. All I can say is that despite the many boxes it came in it was so easy to put together!! Even me the anti-handy man got it right the first time. And let me tell you the quality is second to none. Nice and solid. Everything I would expect from Crate & Barrel!!

Solid, as usual
Bought the king-sized Brighton Coffee bed about a year ago off the website and I absolutely love it. Can't tell you how many compliments I've received over the past year from friends who see it - and get jealous. The color is beautiful (dark espresso) and I feel like the style is classic/timeless. Was incredibly easy to put together -- did it by myself -- and the quality is top notch (as usual for Crate & Barrel - at least in my experience). The construction is solid and it doesn't move/squeak, also have yet to find any scratches on the wood. Highly recommend.

LOVE our new bedroom set
We just bought our first home and decided it was time for some nice bedroom furniture. We purchased the Brighton Coffee bed along with the rest of the furniture collection. I couldn't be happier. It's beautiful, amazing quality and worth every penny!

Beautiful Bedroom Set!
I purchased this bedroom set for my toddler as he was moving out of his crib. We purchased the bed in full size, so that it will last him for years, and after putting it all together, I have no doubt it will last him until he leaves for college because it is all so well-made. The bed is GORGEOUS... I was so pleased with the quality of the wood. It is nice and solid and heavy (plan on having help if you need to get it up stairs!). The color is true to the pictures on the website... A beautiful dark espresso color. It is obviously a very nice piece of furniture when you look at it and touch it(unlike the decent-looking but cheap furniture that you can pick up at some other stores. I've made that mistake before, and it just doesn't last). The quality of work is outstanding, and I think the value is really good for the cost. It arrived at our house packaged better than anything I have ever received (everything protected and padded so well, there was not a scratch or mark on anything!), but perhaps the best part of all was the ease of putting it together. No hardware (other than the little screws that hold the underbed slats in place), and it only took about 10 minutes. I was thrilled with the purchase, and I am a tough customer! :o) (I have never done a review for any product, but I was so pleased with this bedroom set and my experience with Crate and Barrel, that I wanted to write this review.)

Beautiful and sturdy
Bought twin beds and end table. Handyman put them together, not too difficult. Very good looking and seem sturdy enough!

Nice but...
The bed looks very nice just like the picture; however, I purchased the entire set, and there were 11 boxes of furniture to put together which netted 27 garbage bags full of styrofoam. It took a lot longer to find a way to get rid of the crazy amount of packaging than it did to put together the furniture. You need to prepare for that.

A good night's sleep!
We absolutely love our new Brighton bed. It was easy to put together and holds our king-sized pillow top mattress perfectly. I also like that it's high enough that I can fit a few things underneath it, but low enough that I don't have to worry about a bed skirt.

squeaky bed!!!!!
We bought this bed, returned it once because it squeaked, thinking it was a fluke. Got another bed and it squeaks with every toss and turn. EVERY TOSS AND TURN. I have tried placing non-skids under each post, tried to reassemble the bed. The metal hooks do not create a snug fit into the headboard and footboard causing too much gap and squeaking. We are returning the bed again and are disappointed with the faulty construction and hassle of dealing with the returns.

Beautiful, Bold
My husband and I purchased the king bed and matching nightstands. They are beautiful, high quality and make a bold statement in our master bedroom. The assembly of the bed was very easy, the nightstands were a little more time consuming but nothing compared to some of the less expensive furniture we purchased elsewhere. My husband equally likes it as it is fairly masculine. I would highly recommend the furniture. The color is also easy to match to other pieces not in the set if you are unable to afford additional pieces right away.

Not as durable as I had hoped...
I purchased the Brighton coffee queen bed, nightstand, chiffarobe and chest of drawers about 1 month ago. I liked the design and color, and read the reviews before I purchased. Like many people, I agree, the smell of the finish is VERY strong and can still be smelled (especially inside the drawers) even after a month. When the bed is assembled for a mattress and box spring, the clearance underneath is only 4 inches, which makes finding suitable storage containers very difficult. The assembly was very easy. I don't believe the wood will be as hard and durable as I would have liked. While moving it in from the our assembly room to the bedroom, we knicked a chunk out of the finish on the chest. A few days later, I put a small dent in the footboard after accidentally lowering the corner of a heavy firesafe box on it. Any good hardwood like oak would have withstood that. I also took the advice from another review and had glass tops made before any of my cats could scratch the tops. I'm disappointed that I paid almost 3000 dollars for all of this furniture and have already had finish/durability issues. Thank god I don't have kids or I'd be replacing this furniture within two years! Maybe with my cats and me and my husband, we'll get 3 years...It was packed well but be prepared for a mountain of cardboard and styrofoam. The furniture looks nice and I could recommend buying it if it weren't for the issues I stated previously, but if I had it to do over, I may have purchased another bedroom set.

Great Quality/Value
Great bed...very short assembly time, all wood (not particle board anywhere), and sturdy. Highly recommended styling as well.
