Meets Expectations
Needed a tall, white bookcase - with a BACK - not easy to find. This style is 'transitional' as it could work in a very traditional or modern setting.
Shelves can adjust to several levels (not unlimited though) which is a nice feature
I compared quality and price with other chains and also boutiques and found this to be a very solid deal. It's sturdy, the paint is thick, edges are finished - high quality is as expected
Assembly required but you can also pick it up yourself at store which saves on shipping

Solid charmer
We purchased three of the Payton White 32x76 cases to fill a wall. I love their squared, thick shape and the fact that there is no molding overhanging the edges. The cases butt up together nicely and appear built-in along our wall. Love the wood-grain texture and white color; goes with a variety of styles from arts-and-crafts to neo-traditional.

Great bookshelves
I shopped around for several weeks before deciding on this bookshelf and I'm so happy I went with this. There are cheaper ones out there but not as good quality. I bought 2 of the 76" height and 2 of the 32" ones. They look great in my home office. I also bought a spotlight desk and although they are a different finish, (the desk has a shiny finish) everything looks great and the room looks clean and organized. I assembled the bookshelves by myself. Out of 4, one was defective but C&B quickly corrected it. I would buy this again.

Poor finish
My husband and I purchased the 32 inch x 76 inch Payton bookcase in white for a home office, which just arrived today. These were not available in any stores near us but I'd seen the dark brown bookcase elsewhere so I thought the white would be nice (ha) and went ahead and ordered online. The white finish is very inconsistent, not as pictured online. You can definitely see a very large wood grain on the side panels, shelves and the back - it looks like a weathered finish - but one panel has a thick coat of white paint so you can hardly see the wood grain, while the other panel is so lightly finished that the grain is very visible (a picture is attached but its hard to get a picture of this). The back panel for the bookcase is cracked and it looks like someone tried to touch up portions of the paint that were missed with the sprayer, but in a different white color (picture also attached). I would not recommend this bookcase, at least not in white.

Finished off our office
Great low bookshelves. Easy to assemble and has lots of storage room for books and etc. Great height for little kids. Only drawback is the quality of the wood is just ok, can see the grain through the white paint.
But would recommend for the price.
