Good for pictures
This bookcase is good for pictures and knickknacks, but not wide enough for a printer or fax machine that needs to go with the computer (if that is what is called for).

I love this bookcase
After buying the Sloan leaning desk, I knew I wanted to buy a similar bookcase for my books, music, and movies. I love the simple design of these pieces, and the 18 inch width of the bookcase is a perfect fit for my room. This is perfect for me as a recent arrival to a new city, as I may need to move to new apartments each year. My one complaint is that the sides of the shelves provide little support for books: tall or short, they are always slightly tipping over the edge of the shelves. Prepare to either buy book ends or line your books up perfectly with the main side pieces of the bookcase.

5 Star Looks 2 Star Quality
I purchased the 25.5" shelves along with the media center. The first time that I dusted these shelves with a soft micro fiber cloth, the veneer on one of the shelves peeled off. I wasn't even applying pressure.. its dust, let the weight of the small cloth wipe the dust off. I'm amazed at how poor the quality is of these shelves.

Good balance of quality for price
There are tons of these leaning ladder shelves out there, but most are cheap and flimsy. Yes, this is a bit more $, but in exchange you get great quality and something that is easy to put together and sturdy. It is also worth noting that it is the only place I could find that had one this narrow (18").

Great piece for the price
LOVE this bookcase! Also purchased the desk piece and it has changed my office for the better. I can see everything and it helps me to keep organized and clutter-free in a small space. Hassle-free shopping, delivery, and assembly!

Perfect size for bedroom
Perfect purchase for daughter's bedroom. Holds decorative items as well as a few books. Would recommend to everyone. This size works great with the leaning desk.

Great BookCase
I love my Sloane Espresso Bookcase, my husband who is a finish carpenter by trade was so impressed with the quality of this product he decide this was the best piece I have ever purchased. I like that it is small but can hold everything I wanted. Plus it is so very sturdy I am not worried that my son or pets will knock it over. Love It.

Very pleased
Great bookcases, I purchased two and attached them on each side of the sloane media center. they are extremely easy to assemble, look good and help to utilize the space without adding bulk and overtaking the room.

Super for small area
We have decorated our Arizona almost fully with C and B furniture. We had previously purchased a TV stand but decided to put TV on wall. These 2 bookcases "framed" the area perfectly plus added some storage area. Easy to assemble too!

Great Open Bookcase
My husband and I needed shelving in a guest bedroom that wouldn't be too cumbersome. We purchased two of these bookcases and they were the perfect addition. We didn't even have to anchor them which has an added bonus! I only wish they were slightly wider.

great bookshelf
Sleek, unique design. Fits perfectly next to the window in my dining room. I don't think it would be ideal for someone just looking for a place to store their books but if you want to display books along with other decorative items, it's perfect! My only complaint is that i didn't buy 2!

Better than Expected
I went to the Crate and Barrel showroom to see these shelves. They seemed a little small, the color didn't really look espresso to me and I was not keen on putting it together. BUT, it was the perfect size and I had been looking for over a year for ANYTHING that would fit.
When they arrived, I hopped to it to put it together. It took all of 5 minutes to unwrap and put together. These shelves looked so much better than the ones in the showroom. They are very sturdy and perfect for books or anything you can fit on it.GLad I found these.

Good product, shipping wasn't quick
Bookcases were easy to assemble and look good in the room. Photos online and in catalogs are representative.

Perfect addition
Great addition to the Sloane Wine Bar. Bought 2 for a small space. Love the look and added storage, without looking or feeling crowded.

Love this!
I bought 2 of these to go with my media console. They look so good in my living room! Very clean and sharp looking. Love that I can display different things on the shelves, but they aren't too big where it looks junky. Great, great buy!

Great Bookshelf
I needed a narrow but tall bookshelf for my apartment and this one is perfect. It was also cheaper in price than alternatives I found on other websites with worse reviews. Looks and feels solid. Would definitely recommend.

I love this bookcase
This is a great bookcase -- easy to assemble and it looks great. I decided not to bolt it to the wall, and still feel that it's sturdy enough to hold my books and other objects. I love the slim design of the bookcase -- perfect for city-living!

Love it!
I bought the bookcase and the wine wine bar to flank the doorway in my small dining room. They are perfect for a small space! I love them!
I have been trying to find a basket for the bottom shelf of the bookcase for 8 months now and cannot find anything the right size. I would love a basket with a lid. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
