Excellent Product!
This shelving/desk unit is fantastic. Looks great in our foyer. Fits the same amount of things as a regular book shelf, but feels like it takes up half the space. It's a great work station and serves many functional and decorative purposes. Very easy to assemble and sits well against the wall.

just what I wanted
I was re-decorating one small spare bedroom and needed something that will allow me to have an office/bedroom feeling without been too much one thing or the other. When I found this I knew it was just what I needed. It looks amazing, it was very easy to assembly , and the delivery was very fast.
The only thing it misses: a small drawer to keep pens and small items away!

excellent purchase
This bookcase was exactly as I visualized it. The entire unit came in 6 well packed boxes each with their own instructions and tools. With my son's assistance, we were able to assembly the unit in no time at all. It is very sturdy and is holding up well to the library that has been placed upon it. The desk is perfect size for a laptop and a desk lamp with additional room for papers or documents. The printer fit easily on the bottom shelf. The color is gorgeous and rich!!!! I just could not be happier!!! This is the second purchase I have made of Crate and Barrel furniture and I look forward to our future association! Your staff is courteous and knowledgeable - and I found that in several of your stores. What else can I say? Except - thank you!

Functional and space saving
I bought this when I downsized and lost my office. It looks great in my living room and gives me a functional space to put my laptop and store bills. The smaller top shelves are great display spaces and with added baskets I can hide necessary papers on the larger shelves. Easy to assemble. I did anchor it to the wall.

Beautiful and functional
I was in love with this piece from the moment I saw it in my colleagues house! I've always been a fan of dark colored wood, so the unique and intriguing design of this bookcase/desk combo was the perfect excuse to start building a collection. It is well made and relatively quick to assemble. If you know you like the Sloane series, I would definitely recommend getting the group (two bookcases, one desk, etc) because you will save money. Don't try to convince yourself that it's better to get one piece at a time because it's not. Unless you don't know about your space. Great buy and also a great space saver!

Great so far
I loved the way I thought this trunk would fit into our home. Its elegant and understated but eye catching at the same time. The wood seems to be high quality. We've had it about 2 weeks and are pleased thus far. I like that this would be "claasy" storage for any future kiddie toys. Seems like a better solution than plastic tubs

Easy and affordable
Needed a new desk to hold the computer monitor, didn't want to break the bank or commit to a major piece of furniture. This is versatile and can be as decorative or useful(holding books, baskets, etc) as you want it to be.

Wonderful simple desk
We now have two sets of the Sloane 25.5 double bookcase and desk and love both. We have the Espresso and the Grey which are both lovely colors. The bookcases hold so many things and I love the height of the shelves. My husband put our first set together in several hours and I think the second set in about 1 hour.

Beautiful and versitile...
These bookshelves were such wonderful purchases. We used them in our office in addition to another crate and barrel desk for the desktop computer, and this one for the laptop. In our new home the set is split up with the shelves in our sitting room and desk/shelf in the office. They blend with all styles of furniture and have wonderful construction true to Crate and Barrel!

So awesome our friends had to by one
We wanted to save some space and still have a stylish look to our book cases and desks. We actually have a his and hers desks with bookcase in the middle and they get compliments whenever someone new comes over. They look beautiful and are pretty functional for a small desk. The only think is the wall mounting is a little tricky, but the rest if the installation is a snap! We can't wait to get the bar to match!

Excellent for small spaces
I purchased for my tiny NYC style living room. It allowed me to use my Mac as a tv and computer all in a sleek design. I've since moved and now it has it's own room-and looks fabulous as a work station too. The deep mahogany color glows with red highlights in bright light sand is truly espresso in color.
Highly recommend!

Great piece!
Easy to put together, very functional and a space saver. We wanted an office in our basement but did not want to use up a whole room so we found this book shelves with desk and it worked out great! We put them in the main room, did not take up too much space and provided a more modern look to the room

Wonderful solution!
Love these bookshelves with a little desk. Great space saving solutions to our small third bedroom. The best part is we can put one bookshelf in the living room to fits an awkward space there, and the other 2 sections in the third bedroom. Those looks very nice and elegant. The desk is very small though so we can only put laptop on top. Another reason that I give 4 star is it is not very stable if you put it on hardwood floor without using wall mount. We googled a solutions by getting some footers from home depot and put at the bottom. Problem solved.

Perfect!
This is the perfect solution for a room you do not know what to do with! The dark brown color is great and once assembled is a sturdy product! I will be adding other Sloane pieces as I move things around!

Totally Versatile
We love our Sloan desk and 2 bookcases. We originally had it in our 2nd bedroom to use as a desk which was perfect for the small space we had! And, it was next to the guest bed and guests liked using the desk part to set things on. Now, in our new house, we have it in the dining room and use it as a dry bar area. Quality of the piece is well made, color is perfect and it was easy to put together. It is one of our favorite purchases.

Best Purchase Ever!!!
After much personal debate on whether to buy a traditional bookcase/desk combo or whether to go modern, I finally took the plunge. I ordered this, literally 4 days ago, online. I received it all today from the shipments and put it together ASAP. It was SO EASY to put together and the quality is astounding for the price! I wish I would've bought this combination years ago! This was my first major furniture purchase with Crate and Barrel and it definitely will not be my last! If you are worried about the price, don't be! IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!

Stunning!
I work from home yet never wanted a "desk" to "weigh down" my study. I saw this set in the catalog and immediately knew this was what I had been searching for: a light and airy workspace with plenty of room for office essentials and personal mementos.
The Crate and Barrel desk/bookcases are attractive, well-made, elegant, and sturdy, and look FAR more expensive than the cost would indicate. The Espresso color is beautiful: dark brownish black with hints of red.
Assembly is easy and doesn't take much time, though it IS a two-person job. If you have uneven floors and/or bowed walls, the connected units are easily leveled with shims.
You will NOT be disappointed in this purchase!
