The Story

There's more than meets the eye in our new compact entertainment bar. Two bartop leaves flip open to perch drinks and snacks, while revealing generous bottle storage. Front door drops down to create an open serving area. Below are a drawer for tools and an 18-bottle wine bin. Side shelves (three on the left, two on the right) store stemware or bottles. Finished back panel lets Parker be the center of the party.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Craftsmanship! This is a beautiful spirits cabinet. That said, building it was tremendously difficult. The holes, where I was to screw in a screw, were not the right size - they were made slightly too small. I made the unfortunate choice of trying to screw them in all the same, which resulted in them snapping in two, leaving half the screw inside the wood. I had to call the C&B store where I purchased this product, and will have to haul in a half-built spirits cabinet to exchange it for a new one. (By the way, credit goes to C&B for their wonderful exchange program).Unless all of this sounds pleasant to you, I do not recommend this spirits cabinet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good spirit table This product, while durable, still is not made from 'real' wood, it's pressed-prefab wood. There were some dings and dents and a piece of the 'wood' missing on the back side panel - which I missed when unpacking. even so, I could never have packed all the pieces back in the plastic wrap and foam to have it fit snug in the box for return, so I opted to keep the piece. It's o.k. as I place the piece in the corner. Also, the portion that holds wine bottles isn't attached - so when you pull out a bottle of wine, the boards move - not cool in front of company. But, you get what you pay for. ....and it's difficult to purchase furniture on-line or froma catalog - learned my lesson.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't expect perfection I don't normally write reviews, but since I was one of those people who disregarded the really negative reviews, I felt I should weigh in on them to help potential buyers. So as many have said, the cabinet looks great. It's got a lot of functionality for its size, which I like considering I live in a studio in NYC. And it feels pretty solid - when you've finally got it put together, it's got a good heft. That said, there were some slight annoyances. Yes, the styrofoam gets everywhere. Yes, some of the pieces didn't line up perfectly. For me, the main door isn't perfectly centered. I was slightly perplexed as to why some of the pieces weren't pre-drilled - this made screwing in some screws much harder than it should be. One poster mentioned that the wine grid area seems flimsy. I disagree, it seems solid enough. At the end of the day, you're probably getting what you pay for. One poster mentioned that the quality of the wood isn't at all impressive. For $379, I'm not sure you should be expecting that much.Essentially, don't expect this thing to be perfect. If you can deal with some slight imperfections, then I'd recommend this. If I had to do it over again, I would probably still buy the cabinet. You have to go pretty expensive to get anything as stylish as this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Worth the Hassle I saw this piece in the store and knew of the perfect place for it in my home. Cabinet came in two boxes with clear instructions. My husband spent an afternoon very frustrated as he tried to piece it together. Three screws broke off during installation and there were several screw holes not even drilled. My husband enjoys building projects and I would consider him "handy", so this should have been an easier task than it was. It's not top quality wood, but I knew that before I bought it. Not all pieces came together flush either. I would spend the extra money and buy a better quality cabinet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A GREAT gift! I found this item to be exactly what I expected! The best part was it exceeded my daughter's dreams! What a fabulous 21st birthday present for her! The size is great since she is still in college but lives off campus. I am sure she will take it with her for years to come and it will get much use. The black color creates a great focal point and the stainless pull handles are an upscale touch. It took my husband and I less than 90 minutes to put together; primarily because we were being extra cautious on the top alignment (based upon reading previous reviews). Before securing the top shelves we placed them one way then swapped them to determine the best fit -no problems at all! This is a solid piece of furniture at a great price! We liked it so much we may buy one for ourselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Design and good quality I bought this a month ago and I love it. It was easy to put together and is compact and great looking. It fits perfectly in my new condo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good deal My husband and I are very happy with this liquor cabinet, especially given its price. It's a very handsome piece of furniture. We found that the top flaps fit just fine; as the Crate & Barrel rep wrote in these reviews, you just have to be careful and adjust them as you tighten them to get them to fall into the right place, as you would with any sort of door. It does have a lot of nooks and crannies for storage. The only reason that I am giving it four rather than five stars is that many liquor bottles are taller than the central bin. A bottle of Noilly Prat, for example, is a good two inches taller than will fit. There is some storage space on the sides, but if you are a real cocktail connoisseur, you will have more tall bottles than will fit on the sidewells. Still, even with the lid open it is a nice addition to our apartment and a good storage solution for our bar fixings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the money This has quickly become one of our newest favorite pieces of furniture. It's highly functional, holding five 750 ml bottles of liquor in the cabinet, plus 16 glasses and 3-4 more bottles in the side shelves, plus all of the wine storage in the grid. I love two other nuanced things about it. First, you can set things on top--vases, frames, etc.--and when you just need to get something out or put something in quickly, the front can be opened without requiring you to move everything on top so that the top can be opened. The second thing is that the drawer above the grid is not as deep as the entire unit, and behind it, there is a space several inches wide (so basically there is a "ditch" of sorts in the back of the bottom of the cabinet) that is the perfect size for storing liquor bottles that would otherwise be too tall to store standing up in there. It's difficult to explain, but you'll see what I mean if you see it in the store of decide to buy one. It's a nice touch. It's also a nice-looking piece, although I would not recommend it as the centerpiece of your room if it turns out like ours--nice but not *perfect*. We had two minor issues assembling it--first, the "flaps" on the top of ours didn't come together perfectly even, but we've played around with it enough that it's barely noticeable. Second, the groove for the drawer/cabinet pulls are ever-so-slightly too narrow for the pulls, and it's a very tight fit; for ours, they ended up just slightly crooked as a result (again, barely noticeable after we worked on it). I recommend that you file it down to fit the pull before trying to screw it in. I docked it one star for these minor issues.Overall, though, I think you get what you pay for: a good-looking, modern and functional wine cabinet. You won't likely pass it on to your kids/grandkids, but then again, you only paid a couple hundred dollars for it.I recommend it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Nice looking, but very poor quality. Drawer barely works as a result of poor alignment, parts don't fit well and quality of wood is not at all impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to Assemble, Looks Great! We searched all over for a small-scale bar for our newly redecorated den. This cabinet met our criteria for plenty of wine bottle storage, room for barware and a small footprint. Although there are a lot of parts, this piece was very easy to assemble. It took the two of us about 30 minutes. The wood grained black finish is a nice change from the black satin finish on our other C&B pieces. The cabinet feels sturdy and looks stylish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price Bought this for our new apartment and love it! Although I didn't help assemble, it did take my boyfriend who is pretty crafty about two hours to put together. He said instructions were easy to follow, but there were a lot of steps. We fortunately did not have any issues with pieces missing or screw holes not cut properly, like a lot of the other reviewers. It's great for smaller spaces, and, for the price, the quality can't be beat. Obviously, this isn't a $1000 cabinet, so don't expect that type of quality, but it is still something I hope to own for awhile and think looks great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect liquor cabinet I love having a stylish spirits cabinet. It fits in perfectly with my living room decor and also has the capacity to hold everything I could need for parties. My only concern is that the top shelves (that open up) are a little uneven when assembled, but otherwise it's been great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality, visually pleasing, lacking storage I really enjoy the utility and function of this wine chest. I bought it mainly for wine storage so it works well for my purposes. It is lacking some storage area for glasses (the sides shelves are okay but not enough space for everything). I compensated for this by putting up wine glass rack holders on the wall over the cabinet. Overall, visually pleasing in my dining room and a good quality piece!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very sleek and affordable cabinet We have been using this cabinet for over a year, and it has held up beautifully, no scratches or wear on the finish. It is a really attractive piece for the price, small enough to tuck in a little nook in our corrider, but large enough to fit lots of wine bottles, a few glasses, and some liquors. There is not alot of deep storage in the back of the main compartment for taller bottles, but we manage by keeping smaller things on the 'work' space in front. I think the only real improvement would be to make the spirit storage a little taller.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful but disappointing We love this cabinet. The instructions to put it together are fairly simple, unfortunately, several of the pieces did not line up well. Two of the legs are not flush with the base and the top does not lay flat as it should. In addition, the wheel where the drawer should be inserted was bent upwards when we received it, and the wheel on the inside of the cabinet was broken, causing the drawer not to pull out in a fluid motion. A few of the pieces were a little dinged up also. The finished product is beautiful, but, a little disappointing.
