extremely pleased
I was not able to see a "white" version in any store.
However, once it arrived, I was very pleased with the finish and quality of the table. I wanted a "white" table, not an off white- it was exactly the perfect true white I was looking for-
The actual table is very sturdy and goes well in my 1 bedroom apartment.

Terrific!!!!
This table is exactly as described. What a great purchase! It looks terrific in my kitchen, with antique harp backed chairs, in charcoal gray. Everyone who sees it, loves it. The table was delivered promptly and professionally. (No Waiting for weeks to get this table) Also Crate and Barrel customer service is outstanding!!! I am looking forward to my next order.

great kitchen table
I bought this table because I needed a nice table in our eat in kitchen. I wanted something that would fit the space but still give us ample tabletop space for our family of five. This table fit the bill. Some reviewers said the table scratched easily but we have not had a problem. It also wipes up easily. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great family table
I bought this table about a year and half ago and was concerned about the durability of the finish after reading a number of reviews saying the finish didn't hold up. I had a cabinet maker put a coat of white kitchen cabinet paint (designed to hold up to lots of wear and tear) on the top of the table and its held up great. When my kids do homework on the table, I ask them to use a pad under the paper they are writing on and so far, so good. I love the way it looks and has held up. Great for a kitchen nook or small dining room. The extra leaf is really nice for company and super easy to use. We're considering buying the black one for a work table in my husband's home office.

Wish this table had a lacquer finish
Ｉ ｓａｗ ｔｈｉｓ ｔａｂｌｅ ａｔ ｓｔｏｒｅ ｔｏｄａｙ． Ｉ really like this classic style. But the finish of this table seems not easy to maintain. Just wish this table had a lacquer finish, Then I definitely will buy this table!

Quality is on the cheap side
Like another reviewer, I loved this table at first but after just a few wipe-downs the paint started peeling off the top and if water wasn't wiped up immediately after a spill the wood takes on a warped, swollen look. The wood under the white paint is grey so the damage is quite obvious. It's as if the paint wasn't sealed well enough, and I hesitate to try to match it with other white paint. It was an inexpensive table and I got what I paid for, I guess. Wouldn't buy it again.

Not so Great
When I first got this table - I loved it. However, it doesn't get much use and the top finish is chipped and now looks terrible which I didn't expect and am disappointed with. I would not buy this table again.

Solid, sturdy and bright white
I've had this table in my kitchen for about a month now, and couldn't be happier. I needed a nice, bright color to go with my cabinets (as opposed to an antique white) and this is perfect. It's nice and heavy, and the finish seems very durable. So far it's held up to the abuse of a four-year-old coloring and eating on it daily, and shows no signs whatsoever of wear and tear. Great purchase!

GREAT kitchen table
I love this table, simply because it is perfect in my kitchen! I have taken out the extension, and the size is perfect! I love the round sleek crisp lines and inviting appeal of this table. The size is perfect too!

Charming
I just recently received the table. I have not used it much, but I love it. I would not have purchased it but I saw that they had added a top coat to protect the paint. My only negative comment is that I purchased some red chair pads that seem to be too thick and don't allow much leg room. Nice table and chairs.

Great table!
We were nervous to get this table with many bad reviews regarding the paint finish chipping, etc. but loved the look of the table and wanted a white table, which is surprisingly hard to find.... I'm happy to say the table looks beautiful and is withstanding severe treatment from an 8, 6, and 3 year old! We've had the table for 2 months now and eat almost every meal there, plus do homework there too. The pen and pencil marks easily wipe off and there is not a single chip of paint seen. It looks brand new still.

Looks worn beyond a year
We purchased the white table and chair Avalon collection just about a year ago. There are so many areas where paint has come off it looks like we've had it a lifetime. It appears that many purchasers have experienced the same problem. Will call customer service to resolve.

Looks wonderful, chips easily
We purchased the white table and chairs about 8-9 months ago. Very sturdy and looks wonderful. However, 4-5 months ago the paint began to flake even though we did our best to protect the surface (clean only with water as recommended and use hotpads/placemats). Is now getting worse. Will need to call c&b for recommendation on future action.

Looks Great - Quality POOR :(
I waited a long time to find the perfect kitchen table/chairs and thought I had found it... I purchased the 7 piece set - table + 6 chairs + the chair cushions. Initially, I was thrilled... but that wore off within a week as the paint finish on table and chairs is very poor. I'm also sad to report that as of this morning, I noticed the X-back of the chair is coming apart. (I will be calling about this.) This is really shocking to me. C&B replaced my original table top, but the replacement is of the same poor quality. We purchased a glass top to protect it, but it just isn't the look I was going for aesthetically speaking. I'm so bummed about the whole deal because I waited so long and really thought I had done my research to find the right table look and quality. :( Unfortunately with my tight budget (SAHM here) I can't go out and buy a new table any time soon.

White Avalon Table
I purchased this set about 5 months ago and the paint began chipping within 3 months. I covered it with a table cloth, but the chips got worse. The paint is of poor quality. I called C&B and they will be replacing my table next week.

Paint chips easily
I know I'm just echoing what others have said, but don't buy this table. We've had it only 6 months and it's already chipping and looks awful. The finish is very thin and poor. Now we are going to take it to a re-finisher, as another reviewer suggested, probably running us another few hundred dollars.

Poor quality
This table is very poor quality. The surface paint began to chip and bubble immediately even though we'd never eaten off it. To their credit, Crate and Barrel replaced the top once it began chipping off, but the replacement is of the same poor quality. Do NOT buy this table unless you plan never to put anything on the surface.

Had to refinish replacement
It was very difficult to rate this product. As you will see from many other reviews, this table looks great and is very sturdy but the paint finish is terrible. We had our original table for 2 month before a wet glass caused the wood grain to raise and the paint to peel off.
I originally thought it was just our table that got through quality control with a flawed finish but when I picked up a replacement last month I realized it was just the same. I didn't even remove it from the box. I took it straight to a furniture re-finisher and had them repaint the table with a proper, durable lacquer finish in the same white color. It cost me $200 to do this. I only did this because we love the table. A little ridiculous though!
The re-finishing place recognized the cheap finish right away and said it should never be used on something like this.
Anyway, we are now happy with our table and expect it to last many years with it's new, durable finish.

Paint Chips Easily
I considered giving it 2 stars because I like the design, but gave the 1 star because the quality is very poor. I've had this table for about 6 months now and the paint finish already looks terrible. I purchased the 45" with the accompanying chairs and they all have the same problem.
The paint finish is very thin and weak and any little thing you set on the table will chip the paint off. Any water on the tabletop will have the paint chip off as well. Also, NO metal on the surface. I set down a clean pot on it and it left grey streaks you can't rub off. That also means if you or your guest's pants have any metal buttons on the rear you can't sit on these chairs without leaving wiggly grey lines all over. These problems seem absurd to me because they render the furniture virtually unusable.
I had to get a glass top for the table (NOT the look I was going for) and cushions for the chairs (to prevent and cover up the marks made by my jeans with rear buttons). Tempered glass top was about $135 and cushions were about $24 each. I definitely recommend you consider something else.
