Table shipped in excellent condition but beware that it can be easily scratched if subject to tough conditions. These conditions were extreme but the table was scratched when racquets were laid on table. Some say they were laid, it appears as though they were thrown. Very nice table otherwise though.

Fantastic Table!
This table is not only beautiful, but substantial and sturdy. I was looking for a small table for my condo that didn't look cheap or flimsy, had a classic but modern look (clean lines, but not too modern). I was not disappointed with this. The texture and color of the wood is as represented, it has some variation and depth that makes it interesting to look at but not so much that you fear getting splinters! It is a quality construction and quite heavy. The delivery and set-up was perfect, without a scratch on my wood floors. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful table, but mars too easily.
This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of furniture. Solidly built, beautiful grains and craftsmanship. It is an incredibly stunning centerpiece for our kitchen dining area.
Unfortunately it scratches too easily to be an everyday kitchen table for most people. Anything that touches the bare wood leaves a mark or scratch, and if your daughter happens to trot her little toy horse across the table the first week you have it if will actually gouge the soft wood surface.
In short, if you have kids you may want to purchase a table that's more resilient. In any event, you're going to need to focus on keeping everything on mats or pads.

LOVE !
I bought the whole collection from table, 4 chairs, 2 end tables, entertainment center, coffee table, mirror and CHAIR CUSHIONS ! I can understand that people are complaining they are uncomfortable for long periods of time, but what wooden chair ISN'T ? That is why they have fantastic chair cushions. My husband, brother, and sister in law all get together for family game nights and we sit at the table for hours on end. I have had my entire set for a few years now, and I wouldn't buy anything else, they are sturdy, durable, and if they do get scratched or nicked, it looks like it was supposed to be there (huge plus since we are expecting our first in January and have 2 dogs).

Beautiful table, not what we expected
First off, this is a beautiful, sturdy, well constructed table. The natural mango wood grain looks fantastic, and the style is exactly what we were looking for. It also feels strong and solidly built, and I expect it to last for quite a long time.
However, I am deducting one star from my rating because the color of the table is not what was expected. Prior to purchasing, we went to see all the Basque furniture in store. The Basque Honey items in the store were a golden yellow color. The item we received was considerably darker, with brown/black tones close to the Java color. Also, the Basque Honey chairs we received had brighter reddish tones that did not match the table.
Ultimately, we decided to keep the table and chairs, because they are still beautiful, and we did not find something we liked better. This is just a warning to prospective buyers that the table you get may be darker than what you see in stores.

Awesome Table!
My table was delivered yesterday & it's beautiful! It's very sturdy, which was important to my husband, who still likes to put his elbows on the table and tip on his chair. The picture on the internet doesn't do it justice. The wood grain/texture is rich and the color is darker than depicted. Fortunately, I went to a Crate & Barrel store to see the wood colors before I ordered my table. I was originally going to get the java stain, but it's so dark that it hides most of the natural wood grain. The Basque is gorgeous!

Beautiful table!
I love, love, LOVE this table! I have a small kitchen and needed to replace my oversized rectangular table with something a bit smaller...this was just the right size. I'm redecorating to a Tuscan decor and this is perfect. I also bought 4 matching chairs with seat cushions...very comfortable. The delivery was on time and very quick.

Love this table!
I currently have a small dining area, so this square table is perfect, but I know if I move (and have a bigger dining area), this table's style and craftsmanship would work in any room of the house. The wood is beautiful and interesting. By the way, the online pictures for the square table kind of make the wood look a little lighter, but it is the same as the other Basque pieces (which you can see in person at a CB store). I have gotten lots of compliments on this piece!

Love My New Dining Table!
This dining table is wonderful. It is made of sustainable mango wood. It has strong, hefty, clean lines and the grain of the wood is absolutely gorgeous. It looks just like something one would expect to see in an Italian country farmhouse. What I love about it most is that it has the character of a well-loved antique instead of brand new furniture. The service for this item was perfect. The delivery men were very prompt and curteous. They unwrapped the table, inspected it for flaws, and then removed the wrapping materials. Crate and Barrel offers incredable products and customer service. I could not be more pleased! I highly recommend this dining table and Crate and Barrel in general.

Excellent purchase!
This is a staple piece that will be in style for many years with its clean lines and heftiness. Not only is the product sustainable but the finish on the mango wood is wax so if you have a scratch you can just wax it away and it ends up looking like the other rustic detail in the wood. Highly recommend this for families or busy households.
