Beautiful and practical
We bought this media cabinet after looking everywhere for one. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend. But after going everywhere to find one and weeks of shopping, we decided to get the one we really wanted - we deserve it! What is so great about this cabinet is that it has a matte finish, not shiny wood. It is a nice dark brown that shows the grain of the wood. It holds a lot of stuff too. We didn't like the handles so we swapped them out with something else - no problem. I'm told it is manufactured in Wisconsin.

Beautiful wood, solid construction
The walnut wood is beautiful and the construction is remarkably solid. It's also a nice touch that they include the glass as well as the wooden door inserts for the media center so you don't have to decide right away. I'm going to go back and buy the matching book case since I like this piece so much.

beautiful media cabinet
We just purchased this piece during the 15% off media sale. I love it. I was stuck bw the kavari and this piece but felt the ainsworth fit our space/purpose better. The wood is beautiful and i love the finish. There is ton of storage but it's well proportioned so it fits well in our small living area in the city. I think it's just the right height for tv viewing from the couch - anything higher and you have to start to look up. The holes in the back of the unit make it easy to hide wires and the adjustable shelves are perfect. I love the glass cabinets but like the fact that it comes with wood panels. The cabinet doors give just the right amount of give so that my 1 year old can't just yank the doors open. I also like the medium color of the wood - not too dark which a lot of our furniture is but still has a richness about it.

very pretty, construction could be better
Lovely piece in the walnut finish, great practical size. Love the swappable wood/glass door inserts. However, I do feel that for the price, construction could be a little better. Some of the door frames weren't properly sanded (rough to the touch) and the tolerance on door sizes is pretty loose. Great statement piece, though, I just wouldn't finish off the collection because it's not really worth that much.

Absolutely Beautiful Piece of Furniture
The Ainsworth walnut media console is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The wood is absolutely gorgeous and has such a unique low-sheen finish to it. Walnut is a relatively unique wood species, and this solid walnut piece makes such a statement in my home!
The size of the console is perfect for a large television without feeling too bulky. Crate & Barrel delivery service was excellent too!
All in all I am thrilled with my purchase. Hubby already wants to buy the rest of the ainsworth pieces because we are so in love with the media console!

Just what I'd been looking for
The piece is mostly solid walnut, well proportioned, American made, and is a very good value. Had been looking for 18 months for a high quality piece of actual furniture for my 50" plasma and multiple A/V components. Many choices out there but most are not quite real furniture. Ended up building a temp console to fit all my components while I searched. Saw this one, looked promising, went to local C&B store and really liked style, scale and detailing. Amazingly, it had exact dimensions of what I had built. The walnut is a welcome change from cherry or espresso. It has a pronounced grain- the piece I got is all well-matched- and walnut tends to a very slight gray undertone rather than a pure woody brown. Did not like the cherry sample I saw in store- bland and opaque. Shelf bays are wide enough for all my HT components- center bay is 18". My plasma weighs about 100 lbs and is on top of console presently- no sag after 8 weeks though am considering adding blocking to the floor. I installed gliders to bottom of all legs so I can slide the case and get to the back for cable changes. Am using the glass panels in the doors (wood ones also included), may have a local shop make up smoked or grey glass for them as a good enhancement.
