Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful piece with flaws... This piece is absolutely beautiful and looks great in our living room but we've had the same problem as many others. We have a large crack in the top of the unit, about 8-10 inches long and wide enough to fit a dime in. C&B had a tech come out to our house to evaluate and he determined that the piece was defective. The tech said that he's seen lots of these pieces crack and that the workmanship isn't top notch. We are scheduled to get a new piece tomorrow... crossing my fingers this one works out better than the last. My wife and I love the piece and we'd be pretty bummed if this one cracks too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice piece of furniture, bad delivery I purchaced the Kavari Storage and Media console in August. The piece appears beatiful and I love how it looks in my home. It has space to hold all of our electronics with room to spare, and the cords are nicely hidden. However, the two glass door don't align correctly and only close when the left is closed first. Also, as a side note, the delievery men did not respect my home or furniture at all. This piece is extremely heavy and they hit multiple walls and banisters before it was in place. That was very disappointing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Caution - Measure Carefully While I like the style and the piece appears to be well built, you should measure your components very carefully before ordering this piece. While the depth is listed at 21", the inside depth is only 171/2" with the doors closed. My Denon AV receiver measures 15 3/4" and with cables and power cord in the back needs a full 18" to accomodate it.I am still trying to decide whether to send it back or make a cutout on the rear panel. Disappointing to say the least!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still love it! I've had this TV stand for 2 1/2 years and it still looks brand new. It has been holding a 52" plasma television that is extremely heavy and has not developed any cracks or significant warping. Because it is real wood, it did cure a little in the first year which has caused the doors to become slightly uneven at the top, but it is not very noticeable. Also, one of the drawer rails is starting to crack but it is our fault for overloading it and constantly pulling it all the way out - quite possibly one of my kids also pressed down on it. I tried to nail it back in but the wood is so hard that my nail bent in half! It will need to be repaired by a professional. Overall, a good buy if you are looking for a solid piece that has a slighly rustic look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love. This media center is gorgeous! It is extremely heavy (I cannot lift it at all) and just stunning. It has a ton of storage space and all of our electronics (cable box, PS3, Wii) fit with no problem and we have no problem using the electronics with the glass doors shut. Warning to the perfectionists out there- as some of the other reviewers has commented, ours too has uneven handles and it was very, very noticeable at first. The top of one door also has a gap while the bottom of the other side has a gap. I do not notice these imperfections at all anymore as the piece is absolutely amazing otherwise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very stylish, but cracked within months I really, really wanted to love my kavari media stand. This was the first big nice furniture purchase I ever made. The piece is very stylish, and the drawers hold my large bluray and DVD collection well, although the drawers sometimes get stuck when I pull them out. The height is also great because it's taller than most units. The problem is that a large noticeable crack developed along a third of the top from one side to the other, apparently under the weight of my flat screen tv. A media stand should not crack from putting a tv on it! While I like the look so I plan to keep it, I'm disappointed that I cannot later use this somewhere else without a tv on top because the crack is so noticeable. I'm very disappointed that a piece this expensive cracked from normal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love this piece. We have had this console for two months and no cracks at all as others mentioned. I looked for a long time to find a solid, well built piece of furniture that is a bit rustic and this is perfect. All of our cable, blue-ray, DVR, VCR etc. boxes fit in nicely and we haven't experienced any heat issues. I would again from this manufacturer - wish they made end tables etc. It is HEAVY - I left the furniture movers under the legs because the new TV that is sitting on it is defective and waiting for the exchange. I cannot lift the console to move it!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good TV stand We bought this piece because we wanted a TV stand that didn't look like a TV stand. We love the look of it but it cannot hold our 55" flat screen. We are going on our 3rd replacement because the top keeps splitting. If you have a smaller TV or if you are going to mount your TV on the wall, this piece is great. Otherwise, don't get attached to this piece like we did.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Functional, but with flaws This is a lovely piece and we have now owned it for over a year. However, it most definitely cannot stand ANY type of warmth on the top surface. Our cable box was sitting on it and there is now a large CRACK in the surface. The rest of the console appears to be fine, but there are definitely some quality issues with this piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Will eventually warp I purchased this media console 3 years ago and noticed recently that the sides on the top and bottom of the unit has warped. While the product is gorgeous and sturdy/heavy, I question the quality of the workmanship since the wood has warped within a relatively short period of time. I have purchased a number of products from Crate and Barrel, but I may think twice about ordering furniture in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like console but beware Let me begin by saying customer service was very helpful and accomodating and the delivery men were great. However, be forewarned that the piece may develop cracks which they tell me is characteristic of the piece. After about 2-3 weeks, my console cracked in 3 places, each crack about 10-12 inches long and 2 of the cracks wide enough to pass a coin through. We have a humidifier on our furnace, so our home is not excessively dry. I asked for an exchange. The second piece never made it off the truck as the delivery men told me it was damaged in transit. The third piece arrived today. There is a 6" gouge/scratch in it (runs horizontal to grain and does not look natural). Also, the doors are not flush with each other and handles are uneven, but I am keeping it anyway. Maybe I am just being too particular for the price. I know the piece is suppose to look rustic but I wonder if shoddy workmenship is being passed off as part of the "character" of the piece. That being said, I do like the look of the console, just wish the workmenship was a bit better. I will keep my fingers crossed that this one does not crack also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it, BUT We received this piece about a month ago, and absolutely loved it. Fit perfectly with the decor of our family room and our 47" TV looks great on it. BUT, it has developed several cracks on the end panels. Some of the cracks are as long as 8 inches. I called Customer Service and they are going to replace it. It is on back order until the middle of April. I am hoping the back order is due to getting this problem fixed. I am concerned about getting it replaced though, I don't want this problem with the new piece. I guess I'll wait to see what happens, but if the new one cracks I'll have to send it back and start over.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cracks, etc. I have owned this piece for six years. I was initially attracted to the fact that it was solid wood as opposed to veneers and wood composite.  After about 1.5-2 years, there were significant cracks throughout the piece.  When I inspect it now, I am concerned that actual chunks of wood might fall off due to the cracks.  I also find it very hard to clean.  When I clean the cabinet glass, my cloth is always brown (wood stain?), and the uneven surface means it is hard to maintain luster.   I do like how the style blends well with a variety of other pieces of furniture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful product, great price My husband and I bought this media console several years ago, after looking at dozens of them in stores and online. We actually ordered a console from a different furniture store. I liked it very much, but it was literally falling apart even as the deliverymen brought it in. They took it back and brought another. Same problem. Awful experience. I then found this console at Crate and Barrel, and we are delighted with it. Good quality, very handsome wood, and the design is beautiful. We paid hundreds less for this one than the other, which was so cheaply made. You can't go wrong with this console!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of our favorites purchased the Kavari media console a year ago and it has become one of our favorite pieces of furniture from Crate and Barrel. It's deep shelves hold all of our electronics and the top is easily wide enough for our 55" flatscreen with room to spare. The piece is substantial and has garnered many compliments from family and friends. The warm wood color contrasts nicely with our dark wood floors and the simple but stylish lines of the piece blend nicely with our other furniture. Great delivery and set up.
