The Story

Streamlined deco shapes in gleaming stainless steel romance the cocktail hour with jazz age glamour. Modern minimalist shapes, inspired by vintage French champagne coolers, are tastefully embellished with delicate encircling incised lines. Classic shaker cuts a handsome profile with angular stepped top, making a compelling case for "shaken, not stirred."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Look I bought this a month ago and am so happy that I did...Works well for my cocktails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! Don't believe anybody about it being hard to remove. When you take the tiny top off and air flows in the bigger i guess you would say top part lifts up and easy removal. The shaker is beautiful and i would recommend this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A necessity We like this martini shaker because it effectively cools drinks but we wish there was a strainer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to open This shaker is nearly impossible to open. I'm glad that it closes tightly so it doesn't leak, but it's SO tight that I have to have my husband open it every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must-have It is not only beautiful and sleek but also the perfect size not too big or too little.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Art Deco Beauty Fell in love with this shaker upon sight. Love the clean, 1920's inspired lines. However, if you are interested in buying this shaker, I would recommend doing so in person, and testing several to find one that is easy to open... As some of them have lids so tight it would take an act of superhuman strength to pry them open.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One star is too many There are three pieces to this. The base, the strainer, and the lid. They are impossible to get apart and put back together.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from product rusts Literally used a handful of times and the product already rusted on the inside. Which leads me to believe the pitcher we got will rust too. We also noticed the shaker jamming too. Do not purchase this item unless it is for decorative use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great, but leaked! First time we tried to use it, it leaked from the top when we shook it (a fair amount for a mess, not a couple of drizzles).  Tried again a couple of other times, trying to adjust the top - but no luck.  Returned it months ago, and now I'm surprised it's back on the shelves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! I bought this just before Christmas to use for a holiday party. I threw it away today--too much trouble to ship back, etc. The first few times we used it, it worked great. Then the top began sticking every time it got cold. Finally, the top wouldn't come off at all not matter how hard we tried. Crate and Barrel should discontinue selling this product because there is obviously a flaw in the design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It won't open I wish I'd read the reviews on this first! It is so beautiful, and I bought the whole Gatsby set, but we simply can't get it open, and we've pulled out tools and everything.  Very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from insane I usually love C&B but this product is insane. There is no way on earth I would be able to get the top off of this shaker. Even my husband had a huge issue with it and could only get it off by holding it sideways and pulling as hard as possible- not ok if you were actually using it for a drink!! Please stop selling this!! Now I need to drive all the way to a store to return as it was a registry item :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing As the others have mentioned, this certainly is lovely but is impossible to actually use. If by some incredible act of God you are able to get the top on on the shaker properly, you will never get it off again. Would not recommend. Avoid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Cocktail Shaker Ever Purchased I bought this cocktail shaker as a Christmas present for my father, only to find out that it was impossible to open. In order to provide a tight seal, it seems as though they tried to make the two metal pieces come together as close as possible but it was next to impossible to a. get the shaker open and b. get the top portion back on once it was off. After purchasing this item online I went to the local store to see if the shaker I received was just a lemon however, I tried opening approx. 10 shakers at the store and had the same issue with all of them. I returned the item and attributed the issues I had with it to a flawed design. They should no longer sell this product unless the buyer plans on having the shaker as a bar ornament that is only for show.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good form, poor function Looks good. 3 problems the buyer needs to be aware of though:1. Condensation. I have to use a bar cloth to prevent my hands from freezing when giving my drinks a good 10-15 second shake.2. Leaks. When pouring the drink leaks from the shaker glass. Not a whole lot but it will bother a perfectionist.3. Jams. Every once in a while it will jam up. Perhaps it will improve with use but do some grip exercises regardless.Otherwise, good quality with no frills. No buttons or other plastic knick knacks that can break or go bad. Will last forever.
