Beautiful and functional
I adore this trunk as the centerpiece of our living room. The color is rich and gorgeous, the construction is sturdy, and storage space it provides is quite useful. Though my initial experience with it was a bit off-putting--I ordered the trunk for pick up at a local store, and discovered a huge crack in it once I got it home--C&B resolved the situation to my satisfaction (a new table was delivered free of charge and the cracked one hauled away), and the table has been problem-free since. I get many compliments on it.

Favorite Piece of Furniture
We live in NYC in a not-so-large apartment so we needed a coffee table that had some storage. This trunk is just what we needed. It is absolutely beautiful. It is the focal point of our living room and it gets compliments every time someone visits our home. The trunk stores our wine, boardgames, and stationary, all of which are always easily accessible. We registered for this trunk and decided to buy it when no one bought it for us - best decision ever!

Great coffee table
We purchased the original Hunter Trunk (1st model) a year ago, and unfortunately one of the side panels came lose and we had to exchange it. The 2nd model is much better - it has hinged lids with magnets to keep them closed and in place. The wood and finish is beautiful and pretty easy to keep clean (wood oil and occasional dusting). It also has tons of storage inside.

Beautiful Furniture Love It!!
The Hunter II Trunk and Matching side piece are 2 wonderful pieces of wood furniture. Made well and beautiful color wood. They make a wonderful addition to our living room and makes for great storage space.

Great coffee table!
This trunk is great. We use it for a coffee table and it has a ton of storage inside. It holds all our games. We have had it for a year and it still looks brand new.

Great so far
I loved the way I thought this trunk would fit into our home. Its elegant and understated but eye catching at the same time. The wood seems to be high quality. We've had it about 2 weeks and are pleased thus far. I like that this would be "claasy" storage for any future kiddie toys. Seems like a better solution than plastic tubs

Great Storage
This trunk has amazing storage and doubles as a good looking coffee table. It does attract dust easily into the cracks and needs to be cleaned often - yes use coaster and protect the top from scratches etc. The only other thing is that if you look closely at it, there are some places where the assembly is a bit messy - visible glue etc. I wouldn't expect this from such a piece nor from Crate and Barrel. The trunk, however, has a rustic look, so it can sort of "get away" with not being perfect. Overall we love it.

Top Notch Trunk!
We have an odd spot in our upstairs hallway, underneath a large window, where we decided this trunk would go- our house is over 100 years old, and there are no linen closets, no closets at all upstairs in the hallway or bathroom, so the Hunter II Trunk looked like a great idea! We LOVE it! It's very large, very wide, sturdy, solid and beautiful! We have stored extra sheets and linens in it, and it is working out great! I love how the top sections open up, and with child safety hinges. This is exceptional to me, as it enables you to open the trunk and do what you need to do inside, without worrying that the lid is going to fall on your head or fingers! I removed the wine rack, as I didn't need that part, and took the tray out to use in my den. The tray is super fabulous! I really love this trunk, it is so roomy and fits so much inside! I have several beds' worth of linens just in one section! Plenty of room for everything else too! As usual, the C&B delivery men were great and got this up my twisty staircase without an issue!!!

Nice solid piece
I received this piece to go in a new home. Its a large trunk with great storage and is a solid wood construction. I think there is one portion that is a repair when it was manufactured but its hard to notice. I would recommend as I already have received compliments on the piece. I would recommend being careful with what you put on top, I am looking for a glass top even though I may want to get into the storage area some times.

great table!
I had my eye on this piece for several months and finally purchased it a couple of months ago and i love it! it has great storage inside that keeps the living room nice and tidy. i get compliments from everyone who sees it. it is well constructed of good, solid wood. excellent buy and price!

Perfect Gift
My parents bought this chest for my fiancee and I when we moved into our new (small) apartment together. We have very limited storage space but wanted a few nice pieces to make the place feel more cozy. This chest does everything we need. The middle section is a great "wine cellar" and the two other sections work perfectly for storing my fiancee's excess desk supplies and some blankets for the couch. We've even used the tray to surprise each other with breakfast in bed. This chest was the perfect addition to our new apartment!

Great Trunk
I have been wanting a trunk style coffee table forever but could never find one I liked until now. I LOVE this coffee table. It's really great quality and I'm very happy with the storage capabilities. I like that there are three separate compartments. Also I doubt I will be storing wine in the living room so I was happy to see the dividers in the middle compartment are removeable. Overall great purchase!

Love, Love...We searched high and low for a trunk. This trunk is everything we wanted plus more. It looks great in our living room, we absolutly love the storage features. We also love the side trunk we purchased, they look great together.

Perfect piece
It really is a beautifully crafted piece. I use it as a coffee table, and store magazines, remotes, etc. in there.
My only issue is that it does not have some protective coating on it that would lessen the worry about drinks, spills, etc. If I have people over, I have to cover it to prevent potential stains.
Other than that, I am very happy with this product.

Love the storage
I live in NYC so space is a premium in my apartment. I came across this coffee table and fell in love. Three separate compartments for storage and it looks beautiful. Really heavy when loaded, but worth it. I just love this table, totally worth the price!

Great purchase!
We bought the hunter trunk in October. I absolutely love it! It's got so much storage, trays, even a wine rack inside, and goes with all sorts of furniture. We also bought the hunter side trunk and it goes really well with it. We had company at Christmas and our family loved it. It hasn't been damaged easily. Definitely want to use coasters. The downsides are that it shows dust easily, dirt can get stuck in the cracks, and if you have anything on display on top of the hunter trunk or side trunk you have to pick it up to open up the storage compartment.

Excellent Piece
We have had this trunk for the past couple of months and absolutely love it. It looks great and provides extra storage space for our sitting room. We have received lots of complements on it as well. I am not sure why the other review talks about this piece getting damaged quickly...we have had it for months and it still looks brand new.
