neat, natural and clean
I went from having a messy pile of index cards with recipes to having them stored in this neat box. The slot and acrylic to hold the recipe cards are great. Use it all the time! makes a great gift too. I had the bamboo engraved to personalize it for a gift.

Simple and Functional Recipe Box
I looked everywhere for a simple, non-cutesy recipe box. I really like this! And I like the slot to hold the recipe in place on the top of the box. No more smudge marks on my recipe cards!

Great recipe box
I've had this recipe box for about a year box and absolutely love it. It's simple design looks great in my kitchen and it's functionality is wonderful. The plastic recipe holder/display is realy useful (and I didn't even realize it came with it when I purchased it online!). Tons of room for lots of recipes. Love it!!

Wonderful product
Wonderful product, my husband loved the quality of this box," dove tail joints show quality products". The wood was smooth and natural and a magnetic closure on the lid. Comes complete with dividers and a protector for the recipe card. Other boxes that I looked at did not include these extras for the same money, and I didnt feel that they were as high quality as this.
This is a gift for my daughter at her bridal shower and I dropped it off at local engraver to complete the box.

Just What I Was Looking For
My daughter-in-law wanted a larger recipe box, so I thought this would be the perfect Christmas gift. I was looking for a simple and sturdy wooden box with a slot for recipe cards on the closed lid. I must have checked out hundreds. When I saw this, I knew it was the one! I like the dovetail joints and the magnetic lid. It even had the bonus card protector! To help my daughter-in-law get started transferring cards, I copied about 150 of her recipes on my computer, printed them out on card stock, and cut them to 4x6 cards. She loved the box and the cards!

I LOVE IT!
It's very well made! I like that it comes with tons of divider cards! It's kind of expensive, but it's well worth it!
Definitely one of my favorite bridal gifts!

Just what i was looking for!
I bought this beautiful bamboo recipe box for my daughter's upcoming wedding shower. Quality of the box is exceptional. Packaging was more than adequate. Only complaint is there isn't enough dividers.

Cute and Functional!
I got this recipe card box to match the other bamboo accents in the kitchen. It is the perfect size and the stand to hold the recipe card while you cook also protects the card from getting dirty. Very pretty and useful design!

Love This!
This is a great gift for a bride to be! I got it filled with recipes at my shower! It is nicely made and holds a lot of cards. I also really like the grove in the lid that lets you put a receipe there, while you are cooking. The plastic sleeve is great too, to protect the receipe card from messy cooks!

Great find
It was much harder than I thought to find a decent recipe box. Crate&Barrel was one of the few places to carry this item. It is a really nice and simple wooden box which makes it a great gift for men or women, unlike many of the others I came across at other stores which had girly printed fabrics and ruffles. My only complaint is that I wish it came with cards to write your recipes on. It only comes with the divider cards.

Great Quality
The item arrived just as described, with no flaws or nicks. There is a notch in the top, as described, to hold the recipe you are currently using. It comes with the divider tabs to organize recipes. It fits 6 x 4 recipe cards perfectly and does not bend them.
This is exactly what I had been looking for.

Very Disappointing Purchase
What a disappointment to open the shipping box containing this recipe box to find that it had a notch in the top of the box with some kind of white fill in the notch! In addition, the sides and back of the box were barely finished. It appeared that they had been lightly sprayed with a stain of some sort, but the spray was uneven, leaving some areas almost bare. Inside the box, the lip had not been sanded or something in one area and the bamboo was splintered. Unbelievably poor workmanship on this product. I had planned for this purchase to be my young adult daughter's first recipe box. I sent it back and am on the hunt again (sigh) for something of better quality. BTW-this was the second product that I ordered from Crate and Barrel recently that had to be returned for quality reasons. The other product was made out of glass and it was cracked!

Exactly what I needed
I purchased this after searching online for the right size recipe box. I've previously used a binder and found that was too big and bulky for my small kitchen.
I've loaded this with over 50 recipes and like that it's large enough to hold extra cards and a pen so I can make notes for any changes in recipes as I'm cooking. I also like that it has a clear holder that sits onto so you can view card and not worry about spills during cooking.
The ONLY thing I wish this came with were more dividers for categories. There was just one blank and I could have used a few extras for things like breakfast, cocktails, marinades/dressings, etc.
Overall a great purchase (price was good too) and I would purchase again as gift for friends.

Very Useful
This recipe box was exactly what I wanted to clean up my recipe cabinet. It holds a lot of cards and helps you stay organized. The card holder is also a neat little addition...helps the cook see the recipe and protects the ink on the card from splatter :). A good buy.

Excellent Box
I bought this as part of a registered shower gift. I like it so much I'm purchasing one for myself. I have been looking for at least 4 years for a nice recipe box and couldn't find one. This one is the perfect size, shape, and color!

Disappointed
I was hopeful this recipe box would be worth the price, but it wasn't. The biggest problem was that the lid will not close all the way when the cards are standing straight up. So if you have lots of recipe cards this is a problem. The cards have to be angled back for the lid to close. The other problem was that the clear protector would not fit inside the box unless it was sideways taking up too much space in the box. I have lots of recipes and was looking for a nice box to keep them displayed on the counter and this was just a big disappointment!

Great Idea
The slot on the top and the plastic sleeve to keep the recipe card clean are both excellent ideas. I bought this as a gift and I'm thinking about getting another for myself. I will definitely remember this for gifts in the future. Anyone who cooks or bakes regularly would love this. Holds the 4 X 6 recipe cards so you can squeeze all needed information on the same card.

Wooden receipe box
First, the product was delivered in 3 days !
Secondly, the box is really a great quality at an affordable price. Made of bamboo and constructed using dovetail joints. It even has a magnetic catch on the lid to keep it snug.
It comes with a plastic card holder which sets on top of the closed box which can hold your favorite receipe. for easy viewing.
I would recommend this product.
