Great little dessert dishes
These little dishes are so perfect for individual sized dessert, and such a great price for 12 dishes!

Beautiful...but be careful!
These dishes look and work great! I love using them for dessert because you can see all of the delicious layers of the sweet treat!
Be careful when you wash them, though! I broke one the first time I washed them (by hand). I noticed it shattered when the water got really hot.

Wonderful dessert dishes
I purchased these dishes to serve ice cream and other desserts at my Thanksgiving feast. They are very pretty and were a big hit with the guests. They are just the right size and so versatile. They cleaned up nicely in the dishwasher and stacked neatly in the cabinet. I will probably purchase more of these for gifts.

Great and versatile bowls
I got 8 of these as a housewarming gift - loved the shape and feel of the glass.
I use them for berries and cream, ice cream, dips, and nuts. I haven't had any problems with "breakage," and I think we are pretty rough with our dishes. The glass is definitely NOT FRAGILE.
I then bought the set of 12 to have extra for parties, luncheons, etc.
I love using them and try to pull them out whenever I can.

$2.50 each / $24.95 for 12 - how can you go wrong?
I bought these bowls on a whim thinking that they'd be great for dinner parties. I haven't used them yet except for putting them through an initial wash in the dishwasher, which they seemed to handle just fine. Because we haven't used them I can't testify to their sturdiness, but at $2.50 each or 12 for $24.95 how can you go wrong? Even if we break 4 I'll still have the complete set of 8 that I wanted.

Great item!
I registered for these for my wedding. Though I have not used them yet, I washed all of the them on the top rack of the dishwasher and not one broke. Maybe the quality of glass is getting better? I love these little dishes - they are so versatile!

Great dishes
I don't understand the avg. of only 3 1/2 stars...I've had these dishes for quite a few years now and am ordering another set because we've broken most of them (clumsy husband and young daughter). They are sturdy and a classic design, good for casual and more formal desserts.
Love them!

Perfict Size & Style
I've had a set of 8 of these dessert bowls for over 10 years. I'm surprised to read people are having issues with breakage. I find the overall quality and thickness of glass to be excellent. These bowls consist of much thicker glass, then most wine glasses, or common kitchen glassware. I've always put mine in the top rack of the dishwasher, and have never had breakage issues. I noticed the set of 12 on sale. So I figured I'd stock up. I use these for shrimp cocktails, ice cream, Jello/pudding, individual truffle desserts, fresh fruit, cherry's jubilee au flambe'. Even matzo ball soup. And these are wonderful to use on a buffet table, for little yummies, peanuts, sauces and dips.

Care required but lovely!
I've owned a set of 12 of these for over 5 years now, and we've only had one "fail." Which we quickly replaced and they see regular use, we use them for condiments, pudding , ice cream etc.
We always put them in the dishwasher, but always in the top rack, and since that one "failure" after we first received them, we've never had a problem. Now, that said, I would recommend these for adult only households as I don't believe they'd be "kid friendly" with even the most careful of children.
All in all I still love them!

Not durable, poor quality
Like others said, these did not last very long...very breakable! I registered for these for my wedding and received them...loved them but one by one they broke...11 years of marriage later, 0 footed dessert dishes (and many of those years of marriage were after the footed dessert dishes went). I was tempted to buy these again because I liked them so much but that would be silly considering they break so easily.

poor quality
I received a set of these as a wedding gift. Every last one of them broke. The quality of the glass is seriously lacking.

Beautiful, but VERY Breakable
I thought that these dishes were exactly what I was looking for--beautiful shape, stackable, dishwasher safe etc., but it was not to be! The first set arrived with all but 2 smashed to bits, which I thought was a fluke of shipping. C&B promptly sent out another set of 12, which I appreciated. However, they are so breakable that 2 didn't get through the first week and my husband broke one last week just by picking it up to wash it. Another broke when someone was actually eating out of it. I wash them by hand now and am very careful. I am down to 8 and we haven't reached the six-month mark yet. Crate and Barrel should figure this one out and get a better quality dish. I'd rather pay more than deal with this kind of problem.

Worth it!
We use these so frequently for both parfaits and ice cream. They are the perfect size and so classic looking. The only problem is that we have broken two in the dishwasher. They are cheap enough to replace, so we still put them in the dishwasher but are careful.

nice but do break easily
We are careful with our dishes but have broken 2 or 3 of these. We keep replacing them with the open stock. I would recommend hand-washing. One of ours broke on the top shelf in the dishwasher.

Disappointing
Beautiful bowls, perfect size, but break very easily. Mine barely lasted 2 months.

The best dishes for a fun dessert. I love using them for fun ice cream desserts.

Great!
Better than just dessert, these dishes have lasted my family a couple years. We dipped eggs to dye, set up dipping assembly lines. We love these, they are just the right size for everything.
