Great deal!
I purchased this Cuisinart Griddler at Christmas when they were half price at C&B. (Picked up a second one for a shower gift too since it was such a good deal!) What a great product. I love the top and bottom cooking elements, the food comes out nice and hot when you have the cover closed for paninis or meats. But when open, the griddle gives you room to cook so much at once that it's a great timesaver. The cookbook that was included gives you all the basic recipes and cooking times, and its exactly right. Cleanup is quick and easy too, the plates go in the dishwasher or wash up quickly and easily by hand. I love this, and we've used it so much since I purchased it, without a problem, that I highly recommend it.

Nice addition to the kitchen
The Griddler with additional waffle plates is a great addition to my kitchen. I like the heat controls for making Panini and love the waffle plates. I was hesitant to buy an appliance with so many options thinking it may not do an of them really well, but that’s not the case. I would recommend this product to my friends.

Great Product
Love the flexibility of this product. I especially love being able to grill my bacon and sausage while cooking my pancakes on the griddle.

Awesome!
We aren't big on unitaskers but this is an item that will do just about everything you ask of it. My sister-in-law got this as a wedding gift and we knew we wanted one too after using theirs. Simple to use, it opens flat for cooking pancakes and other fun stuff. The plates remove for easy cleaning. Such awesome features. And of course it is the durably quality that you expect from Cuisinart and of couse Crate and Barrel!

Works Great, Not So Easy Clean Up
We received the Griddler as a wedding gift and love it. It is the perfect way to "grill" indoors and also makes great paninis and serves as a great surface for pancakes too. We also received the waffle plates, which are a great addition because they save a ton of space compared to another appliance.
The plates are not as easy to clean for me as others are saying. I have to soak them and scrub them after using them because they have to stay in the griddler to cool before you wash them.

Pretty Good
We registered for this for our wedding - it was a must have! I've only used it a few times, but so far - so good. It's very versatile and you can cook a lot on it. My only suggestion is to buy thin meat to cook on it. Full size burgers/chicken breasts can take a while to cook and dry out in the process. Overall, great product. Good for sandwiches!

Love the multi-purpose appliance!
We live in a loft so appliances that have more than one purpose are a must when space is at a premium! We love to make burgers on this, I love that there is a grease catch so the food isn't sitting in it. It cleans so easily too, and is very easy to use.

Makes a GREAT Gift!
We purchased this as a Christmas gift for my mom and she absolutely loves it. In the first week she had it, she grilled steaks and pork chops and used the griddle plates for bacon and eggs and grilled cheese. A sure sign that it was a hit - she arranged a spot for it to remain permanently on the counter!
As far as Crate and Barrel, thumbs up on the price, the online service, the free shipping and the lightning fast delivery (I ordered it Dec 15 and it was at my door Dec 17!) I will certainly keep Crate and Barrel top of mind for 2011's Christmas shopping.

good addition to the kitchen
I have been wanting one of these for years, but not enough to actually spend the $. Then after receiving a gift certificate, I thought, why not.
I really like it. It feels substantial (versus light and cheap). It heats up quickly and cooks brilliantly--everything cooks quickly, nothing burns. Clean up is a breeze! Love it.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because it's not as big as I thought it would be. I could only (and barely) fit 3 small chicken breasts on at once. I really thought it would accomodate 4.

Best Kitchen Appliance Out There!
This is the greatest kitchen appliance that I have ever purchased. My husband and I originally registered for it because we wanted a griddle and liked the dual functionality as a panini press/grill. We have had a lot of fun experimenting with making grilled sandwiches. The griddle feature works great as well, we were able to make french toast on one half and bacon on the other half without worrying about the bacon grease getting on our food. Clean up is a breeze with the removable plates (they are dishwasher safe!) I would highly recommend this to anyone!!

Griddled cake is yummy too!
We bought this machine on a whim and it transformed our mundane sandwich lives into something toasted, tasty and melted. After realizing that we could whip out a perfectly gooey grilled cheese sandwich in about 2 minutes we went crazy and snacked through several loaves of different breads and what seemed like pounds and pounds of any cheese we could get our hands on. We grilled just about everything on this machine, even birthday cake, fruit cake, sponge cake and banana bread. The only downsides to this machine are that the cord is not retractable and the right side of the machine cooks more slowly than the left. It's very easy to clean and removing the plates is as simple as a push of the button.

Liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
I received this as a gift for Christmas, and almost took it back. We decided to try it, & actually loved it. It makes delicious paninis, (which is easier than I thought it would be) & you can fold it flat, switch out the plates, & make PERFECT eggs. My stove is old, & I've never been able to make over easy eggs so evenly cooked. Wonderful.

DESERVES EVERY STAR!
Before buying the Griddler, I read all of the customer reviews above. They were right! It performs like a champ on sandwiches, breakfasts (I can do eggs, pancakes and sausages on the griddler for my family quickly and well. I don't recommend doing a closed grilling for steak. It was probably my mistake not to do it open grill style; and our current beef supply, though organic and grass fed, is basically shoe leather.
That said, if you want to try closed grilling for steaks of normal texture, let me know how they turn out. I'm currently using mine to resole shoes.

Would Highly Recommend
My husband and I love love love our griddler/panini press. Friends have raved about their so we knew we wanted to add it to our registry....and since its' arrival we have used it nonstop every day--sandwiches, pancakes on sunday mornings, etc....highly recommend getting one--it's worth the investment and clean up is so easy!

The Panini Experience
I gave this panini grill to my daughter for her birthday. She leads a very busy life in Manhattan and meals are so often eaten on the fly. With the panini grill she can put together some soup and a sandwich. She also often has guests. The grill has afforded her the ease of throwing together a meal in a hurry. Guests can also create their own panini experience by assembling their own sandwich.

Good for an apartment
Small enough to keep out on the countertop. Griddles come out and can go in the dishwasher, or I wipe them with a wet cloth. Don't really like the plastic drip cup-kind of messy. But overall a good product.

Simple and effective
We received this item as a gift over a year ago, and have since cooked up countless meals centered around panninis, grilled chicken, and good ol' grilled cheeses! Easy cleanup and sturdily designed. This one's a keeper!
