Glad I bought it
I finally replaced my old blender and glad I did. The Waring Professional Blender is a no-frills, sturdy appliance. I do not miss having a bunch of buttons. One toggle switch is all there is and I love it.

Good quality product
I wanted a blender that would make smoothies without having to be poked, prodded, stirred, tipped or shaken...and this one works! It's classically beautiful but I wish you also offered it in white, black or stainless. Great value for a solid product.

Durable and Tough Blender
I highly recommend this blender. It's strong and tough and is appropriate for all types of foods. I have used it for mincing of delicate foods, like pesto, and chopping of hard foods, like ice for frozen drinks. It has performed well under all circumstances.
Compared to my previous blender, which had thin glass walls that shattered in the dishwasher, this blender has nice thick walls that will take some punishing!
It is also easy to clean. I pop off the plastic top, unscrew the base, and toss it in the dishwasher.
Although I wish that this blender was offered in more colors, I do appreciate its sleek, modernist appearance and simple stainless steel switch controls. This is also a nice contrast to my old blender, which had numerous unnecessary plastic buttons for different settings, and provided a final resting place for liquid scraps to solidify.
In summary, I think that this blender has a great value, function, and aesthetics.

An excellent purchase
I specifically wanted a red blender for my newly remodeled kitchen. This was an excellent choice. It is old school, and I mean that with the highest regard. It is made of top quality materials- not plastic. It is very well built, the kind of appliance you know will be passed to the next generation. It does an excellent job with smoothies! The most wonderful thing about this blender, is that it is made in the USA.

Worth the Money
I knew I would never be able to do better. This blender was well-priced with the right features AND is made in the USA. The only thing that is harder than finding products made in America is affording them. This blender has a decent amount of power and a simple, elegant look. It isn't loaded down with buttons with crazy French names -- you can blend on high or low. Simple.
For anyone who prefers to avoid plastic, the blender jar is glass. The base is small enough to fit on the counter without taking up too much space. Like many blenders, the lid has an insert that can be removed in order to add ingredients while the blender is going. I have had some trouble using it, but that is probably due to user error.
The blender doesn't work quite as well as I would like. As someone else noted, I have smelled a little burning and the motor sometimes sounds as if it is being overworked; however, I am getting the most out of my blender by making batters with nuts, seeds, grains, etc. Therefore, I don't blame the blender. It does its job very well, is easy to clean and is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. Like one of the other posters, I hope that I am still using it decades from now.

Excellent gift
Bought this for a wedding gift. I still own one I have had since my wedding and it still works great! Excellent choice for a gift.

Best blender I've owned
This blender is powerful enough to thoroughly blend a shake or smoothie in just a few seconds, even at low speed. I particularly enjoy the ease of cleanup, too, with no small parts to reassemble after washing. The tall, narrow design makes it attractive and also allows it to fit well into a kitchen without much counter space. It is heavy, not flimsy, and easy to handle. The first time I used it I did smell a burning rubber smell, but could find no problems and had followed all instructions before use. That has not happened since, so I don't know what the problem was.

Old-fashioned quality!
Believe it or not I still have my parents' Waring blender that they were given as a wedding present-- in 1970. The factory was not too far from our house in Connecticut, and my parents were so proud of that blender being made nearby. Something most people don't know-- because there are real people there, if anything goes wrong you just have to send your blender back to Waring and they'll take care of the problem usually for free. Now I love my new red one to match my new kitchen as much as I love my old one-- which I'll probably be sending with my daughter to college someday! It blends absolutely anything, and the pitcher never slips or is too hard to hold because of the pretty shape and grooves in the glass.

Excellent Blender
I purchased this red retro beauty last night and used it to make a protein smoothie. I found it to be one of the easiest blenders to use, no parts falling out in my hand, no rubber parts or blades anywhere in sight. Very easy to operate this. Just take the cover off, put all the ingredients in, put the cover back on and since there is only one toggle switch (hi/low) you can't go wrong. I hit the low button on and I could not believe how fast all the ingredients blended in, including the big ice cubes. It merely took seconds. I don't even think I needed to hit the high button but did just to see how powerful it got. This blender is by far the best one I have ever used. Very easy to clean, just pull the top part up, take the cover off, and a quick wash and it's ready for the next round. It looks very nice on the countertop, it is very slim and doesn't take up much room. Love the shape of the glass holder and the power cord is very heavy. I would certainly recommend this blender to all of my friends and anyone who reads this review. Give it a try, you won't be sorry!

Blend away
Researched this product for additional reviews online before buying and found positive feedback. Easy to use and gets the job done. Only two speeds, but what more do you need? Very sturdy. Looks amazing, no need to hide it in a cupboard. Satisfied with my choice!

The Worker Bee of Blenders
I love my red Waring Professional Blender. It is the no-frills worker bee of blenders. It does what I ask. Always. There are only two speeds, low and high, and the design is retro and minimalist, which makes it an attractive counter piece. No bells and whistles. Just pure blending power. I make smoothies daily from frozen fruit and usually only need to use the low setting. I know there are fancier blenders out there, but for this price, I would be hard-pressed to find something sturdier. I admit, it is a little hard to clean the carafe.
