The Story

Revered by both professional chefs and home cooks since its 1925 debut, Le Creuset's classic French cookware is prized for its utilitarian good looks and unsurpassed heat retention. In a deep shade of inky blue you'll find only at Crate and Barrel, our ridged cast iron grill pan is clad in smooth, vitrified porcleain, rendering each piece impervious to acid, alkali, odors and stains. Non-reactive cooking surface does not require seasoning. Compatible with all types of heat sources, from gas and electric stoves, to ceramic and glass cooktops, to induction and halogen—even solid fuel and open fire. Le Creuset cookware is also available in cherry and our exclusive shades of cream and spinach.

Le Creuset® 5.5 qt. Round Ink French Oven with Lid is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My "Go To" Pot The LeCreuset Oven Round 5.5 is by far, the most used kitchen item that I use. Whether it is braising a roast, making my stew, whipping up a soup - this is it! My first one was purchased 8 or more years ago and since then, I have purchased them in many sizes. This size just happens to be my favorite since it accommodates most of the things that I cook for my family and friends. When I need more, I just pull out the other 2 in this size that I have and use them! It is awesome, I don't think I could function in my kitchen without LeCreuset!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pot I don't know why I waited until I got married to get a Le Crueset pot. This has changed the way I cook. I never knew pots could heat so well and evenly! After cooking with this a few times, I donated my other light-weight pots--they just weren't worth the space that they took up. This pot makes me want to cook more often.
