Just Right
I purchased two 12 bottle wine racks for my new home wine bar. They were exactly what I was looking for. The pegs do fit tightly. I used a rubber mallet to assemble them which made it an easy and fun project. The price at Crate & Barrel was by far the best I've found.

Just what I was looking for
I needed a wine rack that I could make into any size and shape that I wanted to take the place of cardboard cases under my bar! I bought 4 of these wine racks, put 3 together as one and then made a separate one for under a shelf. It worked perfectly for what I needed. The downside was that one of the wooden pieces did not have the holes drilled so I am minus a slot......so, one less bottle of wine can be placed. Be careful when pounding together, I splintered more than one peg but there were extras so it was not a problem.

more like jenga game
This is NOT a good item, C and B! Off with it! the pegs are tight, by design, but when you pound them in, their lengths shift and the whole thing becomes crooked. I was in a good mood when I did this so I was laughing at it but it could easily be the kind if thing you want to throw across the room. And the remark of the another reviewer that the problems were because it came from the outlet (i.e. if it came from the "real" store this wouldn't happen): word up. I got it at the "real", read that, not discounted, store. And once it is together, it just isn't that good looking (wood is cheap, some of the octagons are slightly warped). Ugh.

Not my best idea
I bought this wine rack for my in-laws because I didn't know the dimensions of their pantry and thought the flexibility of the design would work out in their favor.
When I went to purchase it I read the reviews. Admittedly, I scoffed a little at the two negative reviews saying "I can't believe I had to assemble it myself!" Of course you did, I thought. It's an adult Tinker Toy. Boy, I wish I had taken them to heart.
It arrived a week before we did for a visit and I spent an hour sitting on the floor forcing the slightly-too-large pegs into the slightly-too-small holes. Of course, some go in farther than others, which means that the racks don't line up and the whole structure wobbles. Still, the in-laws liked how the final product looked, so we set it up and put some bottles in it. The next day we found that all the bottles had slipped out and were resting their bases on one another. This is because the fit wasn't regulated on each one, but still, who wants a wine rack that can't hold up bottles?
I disassembled (with some glee) and repackaged. We'll return it and hopefully remember this lesson.

Do-It-Yourself Wine Rack
We love this winerack.....actually wineracks, plural. We currently have 4 in one of our Wine Cabinets and just ordered 4 more. They are simple to put together....yeah, just like Tinker Toys for Adults. It took us about 45 minutes and a rubber mallet to put together the other four racks.
Full disclosure, though, some of the pegs didn't fit real snug in the pre-drilled holes......BUT.....that's kinda what to expect from the OUTLET store. I'm sure that the ones on the regular website that are way more expensive, probably do fit together real tight.
But, we don't care. The loose ones get put into the middle of the structure, and you never know!!!
Plus the naked wood concept gives us the flexibility to stain the pieces to match the wine cabinet(s)!!!!
A great rack at a great price!!!!!!

wine rack
I had no idea I had to assemble this wine rack. It was a challenge to get the rows to line up correctly. The product came with the holes in the wrong place on one of the wooden pieces (not two on the same side) I sent letter to the company for a replacement but have not heard anything back. It is an attractive wine rack if you have patience in assembling it.

I didn't like tinker toys as a kid, either
Somehow it didn't sink in when I ordered that I would have to assemble all 16 segments and a zillion connecting pegs. Impossible to get them all lined up and when it's time to assemble each section of 4 segments and attach them to one other, it became a wobbly, uneven mess, with pegs coming out of holes. As soon as you hammer those back in, other pegs come out of other holes. Not worth the effort. I bought 2 of these and will be returning them.
Anyone know where you can buy fully assembled wine racks? Do such things exist?

Functional and Creative
This wine rack is very basic, but it
met my needs perfectly. I have
limited space to store my wine, and
this rack system allowed me to build
it so it fits into an existing small
closet that has unique dimensions.
I was able to try diffenent design
optionsto determine what was
optimum for the available space.

Versitile
Easy to assemble and the versatility to design as needed makes this a great buy. A rubber mallet really helps put everything securely in place.

Great Product
I am in the wine busniess and this is the 2nd time I've bought this product. I took it apart and stained them and use them to hold bottles on my table at Wine Tastings.
The second one is for my son who just got into thd Wine busniess. People are always asking where I got them.

Perfect wine rack for my needs
I needed wine racks to fit under a bar and these are just perfect. I was able to configure them to fit the different areas and since they are behind closed doors, I did not need to have finished or painted wood. I am very happy with them.

great wine rack
This is a great wine rack for under the counter/cabinet/pantry storage for wine. It's not something to be displayed - not pretty enough. But for the price and ease of assembly, it's worth it. I'm ordering a second one today!
