Great for soft-boiled eggs
This sturdy, compact gadget is so handy and makes taking the top of the egg off easy. It takes the cap off the egg much more reliably than the spoon-break method, too.
Hold the large circle of the topper firmly around the pointed end of a cooked egg like a halo, squeeze the finger loops, and sharp metal teeth emerge all the way around the inside of the ring to puncture the egg shell. We found that a single twist-lift while squeezing or a puncture, release, rotate the egg 5°, puncture/lift technique worked equally well. This worked even on extra-large eggs, although the diameter of the cap removed might not accommodate spoons with wide bowls.
Clean up is easy, simply hand wash and rinse. Leave the egg topper to dry loops-side-down to drain. I don't recommend leaving it to soak or using a dishwasher. The egg topper is very flat and easily stored.
