Good Mechanism
Love the cranking mechanism as opposed to twisting

Does not grind well at all
My brother bought my wife and I this grinder set (salt and pepper) since he liked the style and knew we needed something for our kitchen.
At first glance, the style is nice however lacks functionality. The crank is awkward and does not grind the pepper at all but rather splits them in half and leaves large chunks of peppercorns.
In reading a similar review, we tried cranking it backward upside-down to clear out the grinding gears but to no avail.
This should really be discontinued as the product lacks functionality and only provides a terrible customer experience with a company whose other products we enjoy thoroughly.

Very nice
My husband loved these so we put them on our registry, then when my parents can to visit my dad loved them so much that I'm getting them for him for xmas. They work great, you really have to make sure the top is screwed on tight otherwise it won't grind as well. I took off a star because the salt leaks a little bit, not nearly as much as my old grinders but enough to leave a small ring on the table cloth.

Not woth the money
I had these (the Otto Salt & Pepper Mills) on my wedding registry. I found them online and didn't see them until I got them. I was first disappointed that the clear part is not glass, it's plastic. I still liked the look of them so I kept them, but they are just not good quality. You can't go two turns of the mill without it jamming and it doesn't really grind the peppercorns but just kind of spits it out. I am very disappointed with the product and don't recommend. For the money, there are much better quality and nice looking options.

High quality and stylish
It's a little expensive for a pepper mill, but it's worth it! It's functional for everyday cooking, and stylish enough to put on the table.

mill milieu
Compared to other all metal Turkish-style mills, this one seems a bit slight, and unfortunately, top-heavy, thanks to the light-weight plastic cylinder and metal hardware at the crank. It does not seem to effect performance, though take care not to knock it over.
