Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mahogany Cheese Slicer I bought this because I had another brand that was very similar that worked great. As with others the wire broke shortly after the purchase. Can't find replacement wires now so I would not recommend this to anyone. Changing the name doesn't help those who purchased it prior to that and if it had been labeled as a soft cheese slicer I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product but the wire broke. Had for about three months. The wire broke. How do you buy and replace the wire or does it go in the trash?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke After Single Use I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and it broke the first time he used it. Loved the idea, but had to return it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wire broke after few uses This cheese slicer is beautiful and is great for making thin slices. However, the wire on the one I purchased snapped after 3 or 4 uses. Very disappointing! I was excited about this product, but in the end I do not recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible, don't purchase I bought this and use it the times. On the third use the wire snapped! This was the only attractive cheese cutter in the store that day considering it's about $16, I figured out would be top quality. It's not. Don't buy.generally crate and barrel sells top quality items, this one was not top quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from How low can you go... I purchased this cheese slicer about 2 months ago and it's super at slicing! Only trouble is that if you're slicing downward toward say your cheese board. The roundness of the base sort of cuts off your slice which makes for an interesting curvature to the cheese.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just what I was looking for! It's really hard to find a slender slicer like this (all I saw had fat handles with broad, perpendicular slicers). I searched many places before locating just what I wanted at Crate&Barrel. This cheese slicer has a comfortable, well-shaped mahogany handle and 2 wire placements for choosing slice thickness. It is stylish, so I'm pleased to set it out for guests to use and it fits neatly into my kitchen drawer. It seems well constructed, but if the wire should snap, it will be easy to replace it. I'm so glad Crate&Barrel had what I wanted!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheese slicer Bought this device and really liked it for cutting cheese. Unfortunately, one of the wires came loose within a week, due to cutting a very hard cheese. Crate & Barrel was wonderful and replaced it without a problem. Will continue to use it for softer cheeses.
