Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased with Extra Long Curtain Rod I looked in local stores everywhere for a telescoping extra long curtain rod to extend 12.5 feet across my 3 windows. I was ready to give up in despair and go the DIY route when I found these curtain rods at Crate & Barrel online. I love the simple, classic nickel metal finish. My windows span 150 inches across, and the curtain rod extends up to 170 inches. I have plenty of room to hang curtains so they don't obscure the view from my windows. We only moved into our new home a couple months ago and are looking forward to furnishing it with furniture and decorations from Crate & Barrel. Thank you for providing this item!! The shipping was quick too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have had this product for just about a year. It is a lovely clean, contemporary design. It is installed almost to its maximum length of 170". I don't find it to be very sturdy. The rods telescope and once near the max length they drop on their own weight. The middle bracket holds this up but the u shape leaves A LOT to be desired. I am trusting a small screw to hold it in place. After 6 months one of the end brackets broke and I asked for a replacement bracket. This became a special order in which they gave me an entirely new rod (which I have saved for spare parts). The price is nice but I would pay more for something that holds up longer and gives the impression of being very sturdy and unmoveable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, simplicity, great finish I have purchased this 1.25" curtain rod in three different sizes now for three different rooms. I was so pleased with the simple, yet substantial look of the thicker rod. The bars are heavier than others I've purchased in the past and feel quite substantial. I was happy that I didn't even need to use the middle hook provided.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love look, but not functional with matching rings We got this rod a couple months ago and it was easy to install and looks great but as others have mentioned, with the matching rings, the rings get stuck where the pole telescopes. We are short and I can't close curtains without a ladder. If I try without a ladder, the curtains come off the rings. Might be more of an issue with the rings, which have squared edges. I haven't yet tried the solution someone suggested (gluing a cut up tape measure where the rod extends). Pretty but very frustrating. We have a new baby so I want to close my curtains!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality! I purchased this curtain rod for an 8 foot window in our master bedroom. I also purchased the rings. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, it was a cinch to install and it spanned the width of the window perfectly. It is a very sturdy product. I love it and would purchase again without hesitation. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Elegant! We just installed our curtain rod about 2 weeks ago and this is perfect! We have a window area that is over 11', our rod is mounted about 13' wide so that the curtains can stack off of the window. I really like the 1 1/4" rod size, it makes it look more substantial. The mounting brackets are nice also. Easy for my husband to install. Great price for such a nice product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High end & Low Price! Great, sturdy curtain rods! Thick rod gives a very high end look! Great price for the quality! Brackets are very easy to use and well made. My only complain is that the tightening screw on the bracket is visible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Curtain Rod! Very happy with this purchase. The rod is thick and sleek and adds a nice touch to the room. I had a hard time finding something like this and this product is perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice clean lines The clean lines of this curtain rod make it perfect for a modern look. It was fairly easy to mount. The brackets are a bit flimsy, but as long as no one tugs on the curtain too hard, I expect it will hold up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great! I have a giant window at the front of my house and this was one of the only curtain rods I could find that was both contemporary and extended long enough. It was easy to install, is surprisingly sturdy for the length, looks great, and all at a reasonable price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rods but needs a tweak I love these rods. The finish and design are great. I purchased a set for my office and liked them so much, I ordered three sets for my bedroom. What I didn't realize, and what other people have commented on, is that if you are actually going to open and close the curtains, the bump that is created by the expansion rod makes it really difficult for the rings to slide over the rod to close the drapes. After wresting with my drapes for a few weeks, I ended up finding a solution on the Internet. I cut a 14 inch section from a 1/2 inch metal measuring tape and secured it to the top of the rod with double sided tape on the side where the extension "bump" is located. The rings slide easily over the metal "bridge" and it's really easy to open and close the drapes now. You can't see the strip from the ground. I wish Crate and Barrel would include something like this with all of their extension rods! Overall a very good product with that one issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very good, with a caveat... These curtain rods are quite beautiful, and the brackets are easy to mount. However, there are a couple of issues that purchasers should keep in mind: 1) There is a set screw in the bracket that is very visible when installed. It simply is too long. I filed mine down, but this is a risky project. A better means of securing the rod would really be great. 2) The rods are telescoping, which is good. The bad part, is that because of the telescoping, it is not easy to simply pull the rings along the rod to open the curtains: the rings get caught up in the "bump" from the smaller inner rod to the outer rod.For the price, they're great, and with those two caveats, I recommend them....
