Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great storage and style Versatile and beautiful kitchen island. Doesn't take up too much space but still has a good amount of hidden storage. I like that it came with both wheels and tapered feet. Assembly was a little tough but totally doable (I did it by myself). Be forewarned that you will have a ton of styrofoam and other packaging to get rid of after though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love My New Kitchen Island I love my new kitchen island, but it was a bit complicated to assemble because some of the parts were not properly labeled.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was the answer we were looking for our kitchen isn't big enough for a full table/chairs, so we use the adjacent dining room, but needed just a spot to sit and read the mail or have a cup of coffee while adding valuable workspace - this island was just the ticket!I would LOVE to give it a full 5 stars because we really adore this item, but when we picked it up and brought it home to put together, there was a piece of hardware missing that a bolt connects into to attach the top. My husband went to hardware store after hardware store to find a match and evenutally ended up having to buy 4 new bolts/connectors for about $26. that took alot of time and hassle. Other than that snag, it went together easily and is very sturdy. we love the addition!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Storage and Workspace We purchased it in October and it arrived in December. Our u shaped kitchen needed additional counter space and storage. This island is great for prepping foods for the stove and oven. We store seldom used items like pitchers and our scale. Extra coffee and hot beverage mixes also are in there. Some other reviewers had difficulty assembling the piece. We had no problems with assembly even though we were suffering from the flu. Hubby used a muffin tin to sort the hardware and keep track of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointed Received our island about a month ago and was first surprised to see the truly excessive use of styrafoam packaging. Went together fine, but the finsh on the various panels was somewhat uneven. It has been over a month since we put it together and we have been unable to alleviate the foul smell that the island is out-gassing?This island is being used in our guest house, so fortunately we don't have to smell it consistantly. We've cleaned it, wiped it down with Febreeze, etc, but the odor still persists. We are now wheeling it onto the patio during the day in hopes of elinminating the smell, but at this point would not leave it in the kitchen when guests stay. Guess, we'll see.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice and clean look but difficult to assemble When I ordered the island, I did not see any assembly notation on the web. If I had seen it, I would not have ordered it. When the delivery man brought it to my front door, I was shocked that it was not an pre-assembled piece. I asked if he was assembled it and he gave me a look as if I was crazy. Anyway, I assembled it myself last night with some help from my husband to turn over the island after the casters were attached and to put the table top on the island. It took 5 hours to assembled it because the cam screws were difficult to screw into the painted holes. I was extremely frustrated and almost gave up when it took over an hour to have only 5 out of 8 cam screws screwed in. My fingers hurt like crazy (still hurts). My husband came over with a power drill with a screw driver attachment and saved the day. I went on with the assembly. The drawings in the instruction book could be better. It is not exact and I made a couple of mistakes along the way because the drawings were unclear. Like the other person said, the bolts to attach the table top was difficult. You have to be a small person like me to be able to stick your arm and hand all the way to the back and then try to screw it in with the allen wrench, which only screws half way. That part took a long time to complete. I was only able to screw in the four bolts to the sides of the table. The two front ones were not screwed in because the holes were not aligned with the holes in the table top. I figured four out of six would be secured enough. The end result - pretty satisfied with the neat and clean lines of the island. I can't wait to try it out. The delivery charge of $100 is way too much for a product that you would need to assemble yourself. $50 would have been more reasonable. Would I recommend this island? Yes but with caution due to difficult assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful item While I truly love this kitchen island, it was not easy to put together. It took my husband and myself close to 5 hours to assemble. And the piece that divided the area where the drawers go did not line up properly with the holes and fowls along the back. We had to improvise. But the end result was excellent and the kitchen island looks terrific and provides some needed storage space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great, totally solid except for one piece I've had this island in my kitchen for almost 3 months now, and in general it's been fantastic. As others have said, it's attractive and generally well built. However, there's one part that C+B seems to have decided to go cheap on -- the hardware that holds the sliding doors in place. Inexplicably, these pieces are made of very cheap plastic, where everything else is very sturdy wood or metal. One broke within a couple of months, and the others are all showing wear already.Overall, recommended; but be aware that you'll likely need to track down replacements for this part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the drop down leaf Received my new island just in time for Christmas! I had it put together by Crate and Barrels outsource person, he did a great job. My kitchen workspace is small and this island gives me the extra workspace I was missing. It's perfect that's portable and I can move it out of the way. I just love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great piece. Assembly is a nightmare. This is the second one of these that we have purchased. The first one still looks great after several years in the laundry room. Bought the second one for the kitchen. Assembly still has same problems and has gotten worse. They sprayed paint into the cam screw holes. I almost had to buy a tap but was able to get by with a LOT of effort. Also seemed like holes for the cams not drilled to correct depth. Same as other complaints - very difficult to install four of the bolts that hold the top on. Took a lot of half turns with the allen wrench to get them tight. And the head of one of the pull bolts was larger than the hole it was supposed to go in and I had to file it down to fit. Took a good four hours to assembly and I am pretty handy and this is the second one I have done. Also, $100 is too much to pay to ship this thing. ( I complained and they knocked it down to $50). They should have in store pick up or someone to come to the house and assembly it for that price. As others have said, there is a lot of packaging to throw away. They should just assemble it and ship it. If you didn't have to assemble it, this would be a great piece and worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and is very solid! This kitchen island cart was just what I wanted. A relatively small island on wheels with a fold-out leaf for guests. I'm looking forward to getting a couple of bar stools for it. It looks great in white, and the quality is very good. Assembly would have been easy except that I apparently lost the instructions that came with it. I looked online but used the directions to a different version of the same cart which threw me in the wrong direction. Anyway, I finally found the correct directions and got it together. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We use it all the time! I researched many kitchen islands before settling on this one for our new kitchen. We love it! Lots of extra storage, we keep the top fully up for even more work room. Added 2 stools and its another place to have breakfast. Stylish and functional. My husband put it together in a couple hours- not too much complaining :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite solid I bought this last year and it has held up quite well. The only thing thing I think I should mention is the drawers don't pull out very far so it's sometimes hard to find things. Otherwise I like it very much

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not be more wonderful! I recently bought a condo and did not realize how small the kitchen really was until I moved in. I was in despair about my lack of counter space and storage. I went to C&B and as soon as I saw this kitchen island I felt an instant calm come over me. I had my handyman build it so I cannot comment on how hard it is to build, but it is wonderful to use! I love the flap that expands the work surface and the storage is ideal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for any kitchen! We bought this island for additional storage in our kitchen. It was a lot easier to assemble that we thought and it looks great. Does not look cheap and it holds a decent amount of cookware! I would definitely recommend this product.
