The Story

Timeless styling and a versatile collection of pieces with glass and wood panel options offer media, storage and workspace solutions for every setting. American-crafted cabinetry showcases a return to walnut with its lighter mid-tone hue and minimal figured grain. Natural oil and wax finish highlights and nourishes the wood. Interchangeable door panels easily allow transition from open to closed storage. Cutouts provide plenty of cord management and ventilation. Media console may also be used as a sideboard or for general storage. Stocked with dark antiqued metal hardware; optional matching wood hardware available at an additional cost (see below). Home office collection also available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I'd been looking for The piece is mostly solid walnut, well proportioned, American made, and is a very good value. Had been looking for 18 months for a high quality piece of actual furniture for my 50" plasma and multiple A/V components. Many choices out there but most are not quite real furniture. Ended up building a temp console to fit all my components while I searched. Saw this one, looked promising, went to local C&B store and really liked style, scale and detailing. Amazingly, it had exact dimensions of what I had built. The walnut is a welcome change from cherry or espresso. It has a pronounced grain- the piece I got is all well-matched- and walnut tends to a very slight gray undertone rather than a pure woody brown. Did not like the cherry sample I saw in store- bland and opaque. Shelf bays are wide enough for all my HT components- center bay is 18". My plasma weighs about 100 lbs and is on top of console presently- no sag after 8 weeks though am considering adding blocking to the floor. I installed gliders to bottom of all legs so I can slide the case and get to the back for cable changes. Am using the glass panels in the doors (wood ones also included), may have a local shop make up smoked or grey glass for them as a good enhancement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous! We shopped everywhere, both in person, and online for a longer media stand that was a nice, easy-to-view height for the placement in our room. We also wanted open shelving for the receivers and glass cabinet doors. This media stand has all that, plus beautiful wood. When it was delivered, we could even smell the high quality wood! It's absolutely beautiful and we're thrilled with the purchase! Plus, Crate and Barrel staff are always 100% helpful and courteous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful media cabinet We just purchased this piece during the 15% off media sale. I love it. I was stuck bw the kavari and this piece but felt the ainsworth fit our space/purpose better. The wood is beautiful and i love the finish. There is ton of storage but it's well proportioned so it fits well in our small living area in the city. I think it's just the right height for tv viewing from the couch - anything higher and you have to start to look up. The holes in the back of the unit make it easy to hide wires and the adjustable shelves are perfect. I love the glass cabinets but like the fact that it comes with wood panels. The cabinet doors give just the right amount of give so that my 1 year old can't just yank the doors open. I also like the medium color of the wood - not too dark which a lot of our furniture is but still has a richness about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Piece to Last a Lifetime I bought the Ainsworth Media Console about a year ago. Upon looking at the images, I immediately fell drawn to this product. It had nice matted, timeless wood look. When I finally received the product, I was happy that it looked great in person as well. In addition, it had a solid construction and flexible layout.I did, however, run into a few issues when trying to set up my media center. One issue was that my receiver and PS3 got extremely hot when placed inside the left or right sections. There is not enough ventilation for them, and the only way to let them air was to put them in the open mid-section. Another problem was changing the wood and glass panels was a bit difficult. You will need to use a screwdriver to completely loosen the holders. Otherwise, it will be too tight to fit the inserts with the holders on.Other than that, I am very happy with my purchase. When guests come over. they always compliment the quality and look of the console. My hope is to use this piece for a lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did Not Disappoint I originally saw this console about a year ago and immediately decided I had to have it. Unfortunately, I put my house up for sale soon after and didn't want to make a purchase until I could sell my place and relocate. I just recently closed and moved to another city. Before I could get fully settled, I went into the Short Hills store and purchased the console without actually seeing the product again. They unfortunately, did not have one on the sales floor. However, upon delivery this Ainsworth Walnut 64" Media Console did not disappoint. It is more beautiful than I originally remembered. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece and the craftsmanship is impeccable. Do yourself a favor and pick one up. It will look great in any home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with Purchase I was a bit hesitant to buy over the internet, but was comfortable Crate and Barrel sold quality products so we dove in as we like the pictures and talked with the customer service people.C&B was extremely efficient in organizing the shipping and delivery. The people were professional all along the way and very helpful. The unit is a little darker than I was hoping for, but we love it. It's quality construction and is already in place and looks wonderful. The customer service at C&B was excellent on all parties who were part of the process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Beautiful Piece of Furniture The Ainsworth walnut media console is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The wood is absolutely gorgeous and has such a unique low-sheen finish to it. Walnut is a relatively unique wood species, and this solid walnut piece makes such a statement in my home! The size of the console is perfect for a large television without feeling too bulky. Crate & Barrel delivery service was excellent too!All in all I am thrilled with my purchase. Hubby already wants to buy the rest of the ainsworth pieces because we are so in love with the media console!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and practical We bought this media cabinet after looking everywhere for one. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend. But after going everywhere to find one and weeks of shopping, we decided to get the one we really wanted - we deserve it! What is so great about this cabinet is that it has a matte finish, not shiny wood. It is a nice dark brown that shows the grain of the wood. It holds a lot of stuff too. We didn't like the handles so we swapped them out with something else - no problem. I'm told it is manufactured in Wisconsin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful wood I spent a long time looking for the perfect media console. I needed something long enough to work with our large wall mounted tv, with lots of storage. This accomodates our large receiver, and all other items perfectly. There are plenty of holes in the back for all the wires. The wood is absolutely beautiful! And the piece is well made. I also like that we can switch out the doors if desired for a different look. It was a bit more than I originally wanted to spend, but it was well worth it for such a nice piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again in a heartbeat We searched for months for a tv stand that my husband and I both liked. This was more than we wanted to spend, but we had a 10% off coupon which went a long way. It was worth it - TONS of storage as it's a large piece. Very high quality product, great customer service, and I love the option of having both glass or wood doors. We got one of the media cabinets to use as a bookcase and love that, as well. We picked up our own pieces vs. having them delivered for $300 so that was a big cost savings, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Nice Piece I love this for our entertainment unit. I wanted something that wasn't too fussy and would fit the space in our living room without overwhelming it. I love the storage space, including the shelves in the middle for the electronics.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very pretty, construction could be better Lovely piece in the walnut finish, great practical size. Love the swappable wood/glass door inserts. However, I do feel that for the price, construction could be a little better. Some of the door frames weren't properly sanded (rough to the touch) and the tolerance on door sizes is pretty loose. Great statement piece, though, I just wouldn't finish off the collection because it's not really worth that much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Console! This piece is solid as a rock! Extremely well made (in the good ol' USA) and looksgreat too. I love the fact that you can change the look by adding the wood doors/glassdoors. This console looks beautiful and can store lots of media components, movies, etc. without a mess everywhere. Just what we wanted for our refinished basement! BTW - this piece is very heavy!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful piece of furniture We received this media console last week and couldn't be happier. We had looked for what feels like forever and could never find anything we liked. This was probably over double what we had originally wanted to spend and we did have some nervousness over spending so much on something we couldn't see in person, but like I said, we are very happy with it.We were able to easily mount the piece to the wall with the provided mounting hardware. It's a great height for us as our 11 month old can stand up against it and can't reach the TV anymore. And it's so big I actually don't know what all we will put in it to fill it. Our three year old does have ideas about storing her toys in it, though. Our only issue was that by the time we were contacted for delivery, we ended up not receiving the unit until almost a month exactly after we ordered. This was surprising but not too big of a deal for us. We love the furniture enough that it was worth the wait!
