Good addition to bungalow kitchen
We were looking for an eating surface but also wanted to maximize storage space for our somewhat small kitchen. We also needed a convenient place to hang our dish towels. This island meets our needs well. We constructed it in one evening. Having it on four wheels makes it nice to be able to move it as needed for cleaning the floor, etc. We've had it for three months and have no compliants or issues. We also bought the black Aspen chairs to go with it.

Great Island, Once it was put together
The cart looks great in our kitchen, it is very sturdy, and the legs make it look more like a built-in than a cart. Assembly wasn't a breeze, but it wasn't bad. To make assembly easier - insert the screws to remove any residual paint prior to final assembly of the component to another piece using the screw. This island would have gotten 5 stars, but I do have a complaint: During assembly, we discovered that a hole that was used to attached the towel rack on one side was not deep enough to attach the towel rack to the side of the island. This was a manufacturing flaw and impacted 1 of the 4 pre-drilled holes. We resolved this issue by purchasing a longer bolt (about 1/2 inch longer) n order to finish assembly at home. At the end of the day the Island looks great and looks high quality.

LOVE!
The Belmont Black Kitchen Island is a fantastic addition to in-city living. We live in a beautiful highrise downtown and while the living space is generous, the kitchen space leaves a bit to be desired, and as is the case in so many in-city units, there's a bit of useless space. This piece fits beautifully in our walk-around area (we have a two-open-ended galley style kitchen). We've placed it up against the windows (so we rarely use it with the extended leaf up), but it makes for a beautiful view as I'm prepping dinner, snacks or party. The extra storage space below is tremendous for the extra gadgets we don't have cupboard space to accommodate and the drawers are fantastic for things like table linens, etc. LOVE IT!

Fantastic!
We absolutely LOVE our Belmont kitchen island. It came extremely well packaged and my husband kept saying how well made and easy it was to put together. We are thrilled with the look, quality, and style of our new island.

super kitchen island
This is a super piece of kitchen furniture with a ton of storage!!! The only issue we had was the fact that it had to be built, and we were only expecting partial assembly. Luckily my husband didn't have any difficulty putting it together, totally worth it. I love it.........

Belmont Kitchen Island
Beautiful addition to our kitchen. Fits perfectly in the space, great height and great extra storage. This was an excellent purchase, very well made. I was looking for months for the right island and I couldn't be happier.

Perfect Solution to Storage Issues
There never seems to be enough storage or prep surfaces in a kitchen. We felt quite cramped in our kitchen with appliances everywhere. After cooking another large meal for company, we decided to add the Belmont kitchen island to give us some breathing room.
As others have said, assembly was fairly easy. It took approximately two hours with one person doing the work. The only issue was with the allen head fasteners due to a tough location. Once those were secured, the rest of the unit came together rather easily.
The functionality is amazing. We have managed to stuff the drawers full with placemats, napkins and art supplies. The shelf is adjustable which is fantastic if you're storing a tall appliance or larger cookbooks. The island is deep enough to accommodate a crock pot and the width is significant enough to allow for all of our cookbooks.
We configured the island with the locking casters. The island rolls smoothly along the floor and isn't cumbersome in spite of being full.
The island is placed in our breakfast nook alongside the Avalon-Vintner dining set with the wooden top. They look absolutely lovely together.
As usual, with Crate and Barrel furniture, we couldn't be more pleased with our purchase. Crate and Barrel makes beautiful furniture and sells it at prices that will not break the bank. We are very much looking forward to years of use.

Perfect Fit
I'd been looking at this island for my small kitchen for a year, to replace a table and give me more room. It fits perfectly, and even lends to more storage space.

It's just perfect!
Perfect size, perfect fit, perfect look, perfect storage space! There's enough space for extra plates, storage containers, my dutch oven and crock pot! (There out of the way; but easily accessible!)
It added "pop" to an otherwise bland kitchen!

Once together--TERRIFIC
It's a bit of an adventure putting this together but step by step, it's easy. Once together it is wonderful in the kitchen. We use it everyday with the black bentwood bar height stools. Love the look and how practical.

Awesome Kitchen Island
This has been a great piece! A ton of storage, perfect height, I can wheel it around and lock the wheels... so versatile. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that you have to put it together. It was easy enough for me, but that's because I love to do things like that. Well worth the investment though!!

Attractive and Useful
I live in a PreWar Apartment in a Brownstone in Brooklyn. Kitchen counterspace is literally non-existent. There is the stove, the sink and the fridge. That's it. An island was essential. This one is great because it gives us storage space for appliances and cookware, 2 great drawers for flatware and utensils and great prep space. We shopped around for a while for an island that had all of of these features and fit our aesthetic. This is a lovely piece and very useful.

Awesome Storage
My kitchen had next to negative storage. So bad that when I looked at the home, I noticed they were storing their pots and pans under the sink! So needless to say, I used the open floor space for this island. It definitely took a whole day to put it together and that was with help! The box is super heavy if you plan on picking it up at the store. Crate and Barrell associates helped us get it in the car and when we arrived at my house, we took it out of the box, one piece at a time due to the weight. I now no longer have to store anything under the sink except cleaning products! The Butcher block top is great for food prep. Its the best money I have spent in the kitchen and well worth it!

Hard to Clean
This piece is beautiful and I have received multiple compliments on it. However, the sliding door panels tend to collect a lot of dust and are hard to clean. The two drawers are a little small. Lastly, the wood top scratches very easily. Although it is a nice piece, I would only tentatively recommend it.

Awsome Island
I have black kitchen cabinets and I love the way this island looks. Purchased a couple of stools with backs and looks great in my small kitchen. Love the extra counter space and the wheels make it easy to move around. Picked up at the store to save on shipping costs; a pick- up and two strong guys is all you need.

Good Quality
Arrived exactly at 3 during the 3 - 6 delivery time. Packed very well. My 15 year old son & his friend put it together in 2 hours. Two holes didn't quite line up, one being where the wheels attach and one for one of the pegs to hold the inside shelf. The guys figured out how to make it work without us calling and waiting for different parts or an exchange. They did a great job and it is beautiful. I wish Crate and Barrel would offer an assembly service. Definately would recommend this island. Perfect in my kitchen!

Fantastic addition to our kitchen!
We absolutely love this kitchen cart. It was easy to assemble (took about 2 hours), and looks incredible in our kitchen. It's so nice to have extra counter/storage space, and tons of people have complimented us on it. I especially like the rails at either end for hanging dishtowels, and the fact that we had the option between wheels and feet. We went with wheels so we can move it for easy floor cleaning, but held onto the feet in case we change our minds in the future. This purchase was worth every penny!

My husband and I purchased this Island about a month ago and we LOVE it. It did take a little time to assemble but well worth it. It looks fabulous in our kitchen.
