Wonderful Pot
I use this pot constantly to make a wonderful cold brewed iced coffee. A cold brewed iced coffee has less acidity than hot brewed and the flavor is wonderful. Made stronger but over ice it's not too diluted that way
This is how I make mine. I grind 1 measuring cup whole beans into a coarser grind (#5 on a KitchenAid Pro grinder). Next, fill it within an inch from the top with filtered water. Place the plunger top lightly in place and let it sit on the counter overnight.
In the morning, plunge it down and pour the coffee into a pitcher. I actually clean out the finished grounds, rinse the pot and pour my iced coffee back into the pot, covering it with the lid provided and refrigerate. When you want a glass, pour it into a glass 1/3 filled with ice and add milk or cream. Delicious!!

Great Value!
Wow! We have been looking for a simpler way to make coffee concentrate for iced coffee and this is it! Before, we would have to strain the grounds through cheesecloth, which was such a mess! This has really made it easy. The press is strong, durable and very easy to use. The filter top seals tightly and the other top included fits tightly as well. Well worth every penny!

Works Well!
I've used this several times since purchasing it less than a month ago.
It works well for making iced coffee and is much less messy than other methods.
I fill it the night before with 1 cup fresh coarsely ground coffee beans and use filtered water. Stir the coffee grounds to get them all wet and let it sit out overnight on the counter.
You can get about 3 large glasses of iced coffee from one pot.

Great for Iced Coffee AND Hot Brew!
I'm a complete newbie to coffee, but several friends recommended Bodum presses to me because they're easy, durable, and make great tasting coffee. I took the plunge with this press, and everything they said was true!
This press makes enough cold brew to mix iced lattes for me and my boyfriend for several days, we just keep the press in the fridge until we're ready for a new batch. It makes great hot brew as well, and super fast (5 minutes!) Both couldn't be simpler... just put coffee in the bottom, add water, put on the lid, let it steep, then press when ready to drink.
It's also easy to clean and doesn't take up much room on the counter. I'm definitely getting one of these for my coffee-obsessed father for his birthday.

Solid Product
In addition to coffee, this is perfect for making cold-brewed iced tea. Put loose tea leaves and water in at night, stick it in the fridge, and the next morning I've got delicious iced tea, without the mess of straining and without the need for ice cubes that would water it down.
The only negative for me is the lack of measuring lines. Sadly, this is true of many presses.

Nice looking press
I bought this press with the idea of making iced coffee at home. I had been getting it at a coffee shop every day and wanted to save some money and time. This press has allowed me to do that and it makes enough to last a couple of days. Great pricing also through C and B.

Good, but not essential
I bought this press so I could make iced coffee to last for a few days, and it does that. However, the point of the second, flat lid is so that the press fits easily into the fridge... and it does. That said, I've found that the coffee brews a little stronger (and better) if I let it sit overnight at room temperature, versus leaving it in the fridge overnight, before pressing. So, really, the special lid is not necessary because you could simply use the press lid but let it sit until you're ready.
Overall, it's a good product. I can get about three days worth of iced coffee from this using about 1 cup of coffee and filling the water to the top. Would I purchase it again? Probably not--I'd stick to my normal coffee press.
