quality + style
Like very much the stoneware for durability and weight of plate not too heavy. I personally like that the edges don't curve--fits well in my dishwasher. Also like that it's oven safe.

Lovely and understated
These dinner plates complement our existing non-C&B crockery. We are very pleased

Love them!
I have no idea why more companies don't make dishes similar to these! They are wonderful... simple, but very nice. A beautiful blue/grey rim edged with a brownish color. It goes with so many things. I do see the very light "greyish" lines by silverware mentioned by others, but you can hardly see them. They are no issue as far as I'm concerned. I love them and expect to have them for years to come!

Disappointing
Beautiful dishes but they scratch very easily from silverware! I tried a powder abrasive cleanser, I tried bleach, and I tried "elbow grease". Nothing gets it out. These are fairly pricey dishes for everyday use and I feel like I wasted a lot of money because I'll have to throw them away soon.

Poor Quality
I agree with the numerous reviews on here that the dishes plainly show marks from silverware. I was given a set of dishes as a gift and after reading the reviews decided to only use 2 dishes to see how they held up. Quite poorly indeed! There are black marks from using silverware and they are not easily removed even with an abrasive cleanser. I am not satisfied in buying everyday dishes that would require everyday scrubbing. I would recommend not purchasing this product line.

Great Purchase
I got this product for my wedding in Sept 2009. My husband and I love it. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are marks from silverware but they are minimal nothing that I think is worth returning. I would suggest this to other.

Beautiful, but check each piece carefully!
We love the look and feel of this set, but we found a number of inconsistencies in the 12 place settings we own. We ended up exchanging 3 pieces for puckered glaze, and when we got home (5 hours away) realized that two of the replacement pieces ALSO had inconsistencies.
At this same trip, we purchased an additional set, and the salesperson had to make 3 return trips to the stock room because each time he brought a replacement out, we found additional problems. I wish we had had a chance to inspect the original 3 pieces we exchanged, but they were wrapped and bagged before we had a chance.
In addition, the 4 newest place settings have lighter colored clay than the other 8. Though you would never have known this in the store, it became obvious after the plates were washed and stacked in our cupboard. I'm not yet sure what we're going to do (since the stickers have all been removed), but I'm getting tired of return trips. Next time, I'd bring an original, good plate for comparison.
If this pattern wasn't the only style that my husband and I liked (and we looked EVERYWHERE), I'd return the lot.

So disappointed!
I registered for the entire Stockton dish set for my wedding. Also registered and received matching placemats and napkin rings. Last night I spent all night peeling the price tags off and washing all of the dishes. (I have service for 14 plus all of the platters, serving bowls etc...) I used them for the first time tonight for a dinner party and I was SO disappointed. Scratches all over them after ONE use! They look terrible. There is definitely a quality issue with them. I am going to have to call the store and return them - what a bother! I spent so much time last night unpacking and washing and now I have to pack them back up! The good thing is that Crate and Barrel has excellent customer service and I am sure will help to resolve this problem.

Marks like crazy if you eat with utensils!!
We registered for this beautiful set and were so excited to get it all but after using it for almost 5 months, every plate is marred now with grey lines. If you use utensils to eat, you will mark your plates!!!! Also, it does not come off no matter how hard you scrub. I am going to try to return them for a full refund for at the rate it's going, I wouldn't even use it for company out of the embarrassment for the marks. We started using it in October 2009 and it is already marked up like we have had it for many years. I am terribly disappointed.

Very Happy with Plates
We've had these plates for a while and have been very happy using them. There has been some metal marking from our flatware, but we found a great product called Bar Keeper's Friend which gets rid of this. We've also cleaned a lot of our ceramic cookware and the inside of old mugs which have flatware scratches and baked on marks with the same product.

Beautiful but....
I registered for this dinnerware for my wedding and absolutely love the color. However, I have found that the grey marks are a problem. Unfortunately I did not read the other reviews before registering or I might have chosen differently. The dishes are so pretty but they should NOT have grey marks after only having them for a month. It's too much trouble to take it all back now, but I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Great Dinnerware
After reading all the reviews we decided to buy it anyway as we loved the look of the set. No regrets!!! The dishes are very beautiful, easy to load into dishwasher (not slippery) and no grey lines from silverware. We have been using it with new Tuscany silverware from Crate and Barrel for about a week now.
I would hardly recommend the product: elegant, functional, great for all occasions.

Flaws and scratches
I've been extremely disappointed with these dishes, which chose for our wedding registry. I have two chief complaints:
1. Scratches from silverware. I see that the customer service representative has responded to this, but the fact is that my white C&B dishes never had this problem and neither do the stoneware dishes that my parents have used for 32 years. These scratches are not an inevitability on quality dishes.
2. There are many many flaws on these dishes. I had to go to three stores to get dishes that met my standards. i understand that handmade dishes will have some natural variation, but i don't think there is an excuse for unglazed spots, large variation in the thickness of the stripes between the white and green, or bubbles and smudges in the paint.
I will probably keep these dishes because I've already expended so much energy but it has been a huge hassle and I would recommend the plain white C&B dishes over these any day.

Dang it!
Really nice looking and great shapes! Too bad about the grey streaks that forks/spoons leave on the white glaze. Don't know if I can live with that. Think I'm going to take them back. So close to getting what we wanted.

Very happy with the plates
We received these from our wedding registry and have been using them for about 2 months now. We have not seen any of the gray marks on the plates and love how easily they clean in the dishwasher and come out as good as new.

Grey marks from silverware.
We registered for the Stockton Dinnerware for our wedding and just used it for the first time. To our disappointment, there were several grey marks from the forks after just one use. We weren't even cutting with any knives as we were just having fish and scallops. We tried to remove the marks with baking soda/water paste, but with no luck. Sadly, we returned the whole set today because we don't want this problem on what was supposed to be our every day dinnerware. This is unfortunate because it was by far our favorite dinnerware that Crate and Barrel has to offer. Has anybody else had this problem??

Nice looking but ...
We loved the look and simplicity of these dishes in the store so we put these dishes on our registry. We started using the dishes about a week ago and after one use there are now scratches all over the white part of the plates. The scratches come from both forks and knives. The knives we use have no serration on them and for a fork to scratch a plate is unacceptable.

Sturdy with a caviat
We searched for 6 months and multiple stores to finally find a pattern that we loved. These dishes hold up great for everyday use with no chips or dings. The only problem is gray scratches from our new silverware. That may be more a problem with the silverware than the dishes however.

Versatile dinnerware
The Stockton Dinnerware is extremely versatile and sturdy - not fragile. It can be dressed up with table linens and you can create a stark table setting as well. Endless possibilities. I love it!
