Great for cookies!
I bought this mat specifically to bake cookies and it is great! I roll out my dough on this mat, cut the cookies, remove the excess dough, and then place the mat on my cookie sheet. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because the size does not fit my standard cookie sheet exactly (it hangs over the edge a little). But other than that, I love it!

No More Stains on Pans
I registered for this item after running into a customer who recommended the product. I use it every time I cook! My pans and cookie sheets look brand new still with none of the ugly outlines from previous foods.

Works well but stains easily, also somewhat large
These Crate and Barrel silpats were my first silpats ever. Though they work well as silpats and clean easily (we've even put them into the dishwasher), there are a couple of problems. First is that one of the silpats stained with its first use, with baking chocolate chip cookies. It has continued to stain more with more use. From what I have read, this is an experience that others have had and Crate and Barrel has said that it does happen. However, I would prefer a product that does not stain so much with each use. My husband always asks if the silpat is safe to use due to the staining issue.
The second issue is that the silpats are larger than a usual baking sheet, and even larger than large baking sheet that I got from Crate and Barrel. This results in a "ramp" effect at end edge of the baking sheet where the silpat isn't flat, and this can be detrimental for things you're baking that are a little runny - they immediately start sliding down the silpat. So overall, good product, works satisfactorily, but I would recommend that Crate and Barrel size it down and also make a version that doesn't stain easily.

Like to bake?
I received this baking mat from my registry. The main reason I wanted it was to make homemade nut (poppy-seed, apricot, etc) rolls. While the description says you can put it directly on the oven rack, I'm not sure I would do that since it's very thin and not very supportive for heavy dough (just my opinion). I also use this for prep to roll out dough, for other pastries or pies versus flour coating a cutting board. It's a nice to have for those who like to bake.

Works like a charm
I bought 1 of these 16 X 11s and needed to go back to get more since it works so well. No need for parchment! Would have given 5 stars but for a couple reasons: 1) too light a color - stains easily. Would have felt better if it were a brown color to start; and 2) the size I got is too big to fit on my smallest cookie sheet. The next size was way too big to fit on my largest cookie sheet, so I bought 2 for the big baking sheet and it still overlaps on one side of the pan. Still happy I got them.

Great nonstick mat
Thought I would use this all the time, but really haven't. Registered for two, but rarely use even one.

Wouldn't use anything else
I love these baking mats. Yes they do start to look a bit gross because of the stains however it's not that they are dirty and you can't get stuff off. They are clean and ready to use for the next time. I won't go back after using these. Makes baking easy. I love them and use them all the time.

Clean up is a breeze!
We bake a lot and have never had a silicone mat. We are super excited to use this and the results are great.

Great for baking
These work great for cookies. They just slide off the pan. Flexible and durable. They do stain easily. I have also noticed a slight odor when baking with them. This does not transfer to the food though. Anything baked on it tastes great.

Looking for Excuses to Use it Again and Again
These baking mats are perfect for their design. As someone who loves to bake, but hates the cleanup, these mats make life much easier. I'm also someone who is concerned about the environment and never liked relying on parchment paper when I wanted to make sure my cookies and scones wouldn't stick. This mat does it all and makes baking so much easier - to the benefit of my husband and coworkers.

Disappointing
I received two of these as wedding gifts and was very excited to use them instead of parchment paper. However, they stained right off the bat, held the taste of what I cooked on them even after soaking, scrubbing, and washing them in the dishwasher (making my cookies taste like vegetables), and everything I bake on them gets too dark on the bottom. I have even done a test where I baked the same things side-by-side with and without the mat- the cookies on the cookie sheet only turned out perfectly, while the cookies on the mat burned on the bottom. Not worth saving paper over these.

Makes clean-up easy!
I love my baking mats. They fit perfectly in the C&B commercial cookie sheets. They are easy to clean, and prevent food from sticking to and baking onto your cookie sheets.

the same as it's competitor!
Listen, why spend twenty something on the french brand? It does the same job and is cheaper. If you like to bake and save money.. this is the product for you.

A bit disappointing...
While this baking mat serves its purpose as a non-stick surface in the oven, I was a bit disappointed that it didn't clean up better. After just a few uses, there are huge left over food stains from baking. Now the mat is discolored with big brown blotches even after cleaning it immediately in the sink and dishwasher after each use. Since this thing isn't necessarily cheap, it might be a better idea to get the commercial non-stick baking sheet, which I must say is fantastic and cleans up much easier than this thing.
